Easy one...Don´t use google contacts at all!
Keep your contacts on your phone and then you ´b be able to asign a big picture to your contacts.

Or keep using google contacts and make a duplicate phone contact with just the same name, add a picture to that one and join them.
That's what I've been doing anyways. They're saying google did something about that in ICS, one can keep hoping

You might take a look at Google Market for Pure Grid Calendar I've tried this one for a while too...lol...there are plenty of skins to download for free...unhappily the apk is not free, but if you google it i'm sure you can find something
Yes that is the Launcherpro widget. It looks slightly different as it is using a skin. Launcherpro now supports skinning.

Sure. I forgot to mention that these widgets (at least the weather widget) will not work on GB roms. They were lifted out of Asus tablets which came with HC but will work just fine with ICS roms.
If you have GB rom. You can stop here and decide if these widgets are worth awhile for you to upgrade.
If you have ICS you can read on.
First, you need to get a root explorer app. I use the RootExplorer but any app that will let you access root folders will do.
Move the weather and deskclock apks to /system/app folder. There should already be a deskclock.apk in there so you will want to either make a copy to another location (for safe keeping) or just rename the one that is in there as deskclock.apk.tmp. Now move the new apks into this folder.
Next thing you need to do is to change the permissions of these newly placed apks. You need to set them rw_r__r__ (r_read, w=write)
Reboot and now you should see the weather and deskclock widgets as selectable widgets.
Enjoy.

Try Make Your Clock Widget https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.makeyourclock.pro and tailor clock widget that 100% meets your needs.
Free version (with less elements) is at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hubalek.android.makeyourclock
More info about app at http://www.makeyourclock.com/
Comparing to UCCW it consumes less battery and some people find it's interface more intuitive than in UCCW.
I have the samsung Galaxy player 5.0 as well and I use Beautiful Widgets this is a paid ( 2 bucks ) widget but well worth it. They have also added a web site so you can customize your own clock style and background for your widget.
Yeah, get Beautiful Widgets, find a good clock skin, make it's background transparent, use the battery instead of the weather icon (you can still check weather by clicking on the widget), enjoy.

"Hi.
I know it.
Reason of force close is what new smallapp(xperia z) only can launch tablet smallapp.
I try fix this problem. please use WebView for tablet smallapp Before that.

FURTHER EDIT:

Do you mean that you don't have new small apps (calculator, notes, voice recorder and timer)? If yes, check the amount of free memory in system/app. The small apps from play store (web view, small camera, facebook and twitter) aren't working with this version of small apps, because the dev needs to update them.Anyway, all others apps from play store (unit converter, currency converter and mirror) are working fine.

The amount of free memory is enough because I've checked the System/apps, and the small apps was there! (calculator, notes, voice recorder & timer), with correct permission (R-W-R-R)
It's really confusing me because the sidebar for recent apps was working fine, the small apps dock also there

Pop up widget. Don't know if I'll use this for ever but I'm enjoying it right now.
In essence it allows you to put shortcuts to widgets on it your home screen. When selected the widget appears with an attractive animation.
I have gone from six screens to one thanks to this app.
In theory it should mean that your device has more free memory and probably better battery.

So is there some sort of template or guide somewhere that lads like me can use in order to make some themes for the app, cheers.
there is a video guide m8 probably the easiest way to do it is to download a theme and get used to changing things around to how you want them ie change the wallpaper, icons etc

Chances are it's DPI issues, Themer was designed to work only on stock DPI as well as the supported resolution. We will consider changing this in the future though.
