Ok in /data/system/ is accounts.db, if I copy this and copy googleservicesframework.apk I can add an account without all the googlecrap bloatware. Is there a way I can make this work without gsf.apk? If I kill all permissions in gsf.apk it works and the account is there but if I kill all permissions in gsf.apk it basically kills my phone, I can't use the internet or messaging etc. I hate the idea that this one app has control over basically my whole phone! Why so I need this frickin app for the account to stay in accounts&settings?? Is there a work around where I can keep my account settings in account.db without stupid gsf.apk?? I can't uninstall it either, once its installed if I attempt to uninstall gsf.apk it reboots my phone and loops it. I hate this frickin app.
Without the gsf.apk file the accounts.db file will not be created and it may cause Force Closes I don't think its a good idea removing it :/

Its the Google Services Framework! You never remove files that are something to do with the Framework unless you know what your doing.
Modifyers are responsible for any damage

What pisses me off is my phone runs perfectley without that garbage app. O well. I'll just keep making it force close. I found a work around where everythings works i just have to force close gsf.apk and everything runs fine.
Why don't you wipe the applications data?
Sent from my NexusHD2 using xda premium
If your rooted you can get Titanium Backup in the Android Market to Wipe the googleserviceframework.apk data.
WARNING: THERE CAN BE A BIG CODING PROBLEM IF WIPE THE FRAMEWORK DATA WHITCH CAN CAUSE EVERY APP TO FORCE CLOSE EVERY SECOND!

So I purchased titanium back up cause I planned on experimenting.. I wanted to see if I could delete stock apps then restore them back to normal. The back up worked but the restore file isn't in apk. format where I found it. I deleted quadrapop nothing to die over but can some one explain how titanium works? does it only back up data and if so why is there an app backup option. Oh and how can I get quadrapop apk. My kid brother is gonna kill me. Thanks.

I don't know how you will get the game back but instead of deleting them you have the option to freeze them. I do this when i'm not sure if deleting will poo up the phone. It's easy to un freeze the apps (defrost !) But i've never seen the option to have apps back once you've uninstalled them.
You could run the phone through seus of course and put the phone back to it's original state

No making it master reset won't get the game back you have to reformat (repair)phone OS again. but search for APK first.
I figured searching for the apk would be the best idea , and thanks ill just freeze aps instead of delete, seems allot safer. I've been searching all day for the apk. With no results, is it some where here on xda

Bump, does freezing the app free space in the system app folder or just disable its services.
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
I could be wrong but even when i deleted moxier i didn't see a rise in phone memory so i doubt freezing them will change anything.

Hey all,
So awhile back I "froze" most of the bloatware (they were highlighted with a blue background)
Recently I tried to "defrost" them (returned to black background) and I checked my app drawer and sure enough the were all there...
However, after turning my phone off, and back on... they are now all MISSING from my app drawer! To make matters worse, they all have the black background so I don't know which apps I am missing.
This happens consistently, I can re-freeze and re-defrost all the apps and they will appear in my app drawer, until I turn my phone off.. then the go missing again..
ANY THOUGHTS?
THANKS!!
When u uninstall stock apps like quadrapop you can only get them back by putting the apk file into the phone mem and installing from there. In the android dev section theres a thread where someone posted a zip file with all the stock system apps you can download.
Once you have the apk u want u need a file manager with super user grant like root explorer or android mate, use it to put the apk file in phone mem in system/app and install it from there
I'm pretty new to titanium backup as well and this is how I got back calendar back, good luck

Quadrapop is available for free from PlayNow
I just rooted my phone and i wanted to uninstall some pre-installed apps that came with the phone from my network but i don't see them on the menu in 'Uninstaller'
Can you help me please?
Also can i delete the 'Super user' icon so my phone appears to be stock/non-rooted?
I downloaded ES file manager/astro file manager and none could remove the apps 'error removing .apk' There is only like 3-4 things i wish to remove *sigh*
Download Titanium Backup from the market, this will uninstall the .apks that you want to get rid of.

Any other app that does the same? I don't want to spend $6.50 Just to delete a couple of things, I'll only use it to delete like 5 things.. seems like a waste.
I downloaded the free one and it says it'll delete the app/reboot twice etc.. but it doesnt delete the app or reboot twice, Only restarts the phone
Don't use the 'force remove app' option then, just cliick the one you want to delete in the list and click uninstall.

Ok, but it's not that simple, you can't delete everything without consquences, search for the list of files that can be deleted without harm, from your specific ROM!

I've deleted most of the apps that came from my phone network, Just 1 i cant delete for some reason. I think cause it's tied in with the browser but thats ok i'll keep it.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. I am trying to find a way to actually close apps. I have used several apps such as advanced taskkiller and android booster but no app I can find really closes the app. I'll use pandora for example. Since I've loaded it on my phone I have not opened it once but whenever I look in my running apps its running. I will close/force close the app and within 10sec its back open. There are several third apps like this. I understand that some apps need to run but there are some that don't. I need an app that will close these apps and keep them closed. This ends up really bogging down my phone after a day or two of keeping it on. FYI I am using a HTC thunderbolt unrooted

Do you have any idea on how android works? Read the permissions of the app to understand more.
You cannot close apps on Android.

That's a lie.
if you use the pandora app rarely then you should download titanium backup and freeze the app. When you need to use it again simply defrost it.Simple as hell
My phone keeps giving me a contacts storage FC. Tried restoring my back up and clearing all data but no luck. Could somebody please pull there apk and post it here for me to try. Don't really want to flash the rom again if i don't have too.

Did you delete anything from the rom? From what I understand about the blur contact storage is that all of those little social apps need to be there regardless if you are actually using them or not. If you deleted anything then reflashing the rom is the easiest way. If you didn't delete anything then you might need to switch roms or keep trying factory resets

I had this happen to me when I had the ICS version of Google+ installed on my phone. I uninstalled it and went back to the market version and all is well.
as unlikely as it seems, it was the blur_yahoo.apk from system/app (and its .odex too, I think) for me...just put them back in system/app
its the google + ics apk had that happen to me too uninstalled it and viola!!

Yea not sure exactly what it was but I just reflashed jokers rom and just restrored data through advanced restore and so it makes for a painless fix.

Once in a while, an app gets corrupted such that trying to access it in the apps manager crashes the apps manager - thus, it can't be uninstalled normally.
I've noticed that sometimes when this happens, the name of the app in the apps manager changes as well (from the friendly name to the internal one - like com.developername.appname).
What's the best way to uninstall a corrupted app like this? Is there a good app to handle situations like this, or is it best to do it by hand - in which case, what's the procedure?
Is it just a matter of deleting anything that seems related in /data/app, /data/app-private, and /data/data?
What kind's of app crashes? If it is a system app then sometimes a Factory Reset could solve the problem, but not for good. Are you rooted? If you are rooted you could flash a new ROM. Sometimes stock ROM's aren't always the most stable. If you are not rooted then I would try to get root. Hope this helps
Oh, we're not talking about anything catastrophic that would require flashing a new ROM. Just regular misbehaving user-installed apps.
What's the best way to deal with those?

Guess you didn't read the first post.
The point was that these were corrupted apps, and going into them from the apps manager would crash the apps manager.
If u can see the app in app manager, then first clear the data, then uninstall it. If that does work, clear the data again, power cycle the phone, then uninstall it.

My bad, I missed that . Yes, you could delete them from /data/app/ (and check if their folder still exists in /data/data/. If so, delete that too).
Or you could use Titanium Backup

When I had this happen, I could see the app in the list of apps, but as soon as I tried to go into it, that's when the app manager would crash.

I tried. It seemed to freeze Titanium Backup. Although the item dissappeared from the apps list once I force quit titanium Backup, I don't actually know if it was properly uninstalled.
In case it happens again, I just wanted to know the best way to handle it.
