[Q] PDANET Tablet new version bluetooth tether - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

There appears to be a new version of pdanet has anyone been able to get this to work as a bluetooth tether?

From the deafining silence I take it the only way to tether currently is via wifi?

I tether with Bluetooth from my Droid x and Droid 2. Use Open Garden Wifi Tethering from the market. Open it, menu, settings, check use Bluetooth pan tethering and start it. Pair phone with prime using Bluetooth and connect. This will work assuming your phone is rooted.

I just tried it, and it seems to work for me.
1) HTC Evo 4G, Sense 1.0-based ROM with PDANet 3.25
2) Transformer Prime with PDANet Tablet
Evo is connected to my home network via Wifi. Prime has Wifi disabled.
I got some Bluetooth error the first time I tried enabling Bluetooth DUN in PDANet on the phone, but it worked the second time. PDANet Tablet saw it almost immediately and was able to connect just fine. I think we have a winner here.

BT tether using PDANet Tablet (new) did not initially work with a Droid2. After the recent update for the Transformer Prime it is now working!

Observations about tethering

When using MobilAP, or USB tether, on my Captivate, I could not play a video, or watch a slide presentation at FoxNews. Before applying a stock rooted rom to my AT&T SGS2, I was using PDANet to tether my phone and I could watch both. Now that I have the stock MobilAP(Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot) and USB tethering working on my SGS2, it acts the same as my Captivate. I did find that by enabling USB Debugging, as PDANet instructs you to do, the stock USB tethering will play the videos and the slide shows; however, Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot will not play them.

[Q] Bluetooth Tether

I can't seem to tether my internet connection to my xoom through bluetooth. It says, paired but not connected. And it won't connect. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
I've never tried it through Bluetooth, but why don't you try WiFi Tether instead? It should perform better than BT.
Cheers!

If it doesn't work natively then search for an app from the market or online. If you get one online make sure you get an antivirus...

Read up on it, it supports usb teather to a computer, or bluetooth/wifi to a computer or another phone.
PRemoteDroid is an awesome app! It allows for wifi or bluetooth remote access to your synced computer. Check it out...I use it in my classroom all the time!

[Q] Using Bluetooth for wireless tether

Hi,
On my HTC Desire running Cyanogenmod I used to be able to use the wireless tether app for root user's
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/
I used to tether my ASUS Transformer to it using Bluetooth tethering as it was much easier on the battery.
Now I know that you need a compatible kernel for Bluetooth tethering to work.
My question is, has anyone come across a Galaxy S2 kernel that supports Bluetooth tethering?
Many thanks.
I would like to know also!
I haven't tested it myself, requires root:

[Q] Replace Hotspot with wireless tether?

When ever I connect my new iPad to my cell via Bluetooth it launches
Hotspot on my cell. Is it possible to remove hotspot and launch wireless tether when it's connected via Bluetooth on a custom rom? Any thoughts?
Thanks
What ROM and what gen of iPad? Also, why BT tether when wifi or ad hoc is more efficient?

Ipad (Gen3Wifi-only) and BAMF Rezound ICS v1.1 Official Rom, I wanted to be able to use the gps from my cell on my Ipadl. The only way to use it is through Bluetooth. Thanks for your reply.

[Q] Connecting to Bluetooth Tether

My EVO 3D has a broken wifi chip and is currently not activated for service. I am able to connect to the internet via HTC Sync's USB Pass-through internet, but I'm trying to get it to connect to another phone's Bluetooth tether.
My other phone is a Sprint Samsung Epic 4G running CyanogenMod 10. The Bluetooth Tether option is enabled on the Epic and the phones are paired, but the EVO seems not to see the service on the Epic. If I turn on Bluetooth Tether on the EVO, the Epic can connect to the EVO's tether, but since the EVO has no internet access, it doesn't actually do anything.
The two phones can do other Bluetooth functions such as file transfers and even linking NESoid for Net-Play games, so they are fully paired. Is there an app or anything I can put on the EVO to get it to see the Epic's Bluetooth Tether?

I'm not sure if it fits your requirement or not but FoxFi only supports bluetooth tether on an Evo 3D.

I have an Epic running CM10. All options seemed to work well on stock and cleanGb but are... well... broken now. I think the problem is the Epic - it's not "offering a tether service" via bluetooth. You can test this if you have a BT capable PC. Connect each and check their properties. Under the services available there should be some sort of connection sharing. Your EVO might offer the service yet. Mine is blank. I know it's an old post, but my own search brought me here. Thought I would share.
