I'm thinking on maybe making one. Just wanted some feedback.
I'll probably will be basing it off the Telus RUU.
I'll try to make all the apps that aren't needed system apps uninstallable.
The end product is probably going to be a sense 3.0 based rom with a few rosie tweeks. It will have no "factory" apps that you can't get from the market. It'll have a stock look and feel. It'll have a better battery life since there's a lot of apps that won't be running in the back ground anymore. With that, more responsive.
What do you guys think? Would you try it? Do you think it'll be too similar to the other roms out there?
I've never been to big of a fan of Sense, but I do like to try out new ROMs even if they're Sense-based. That being said, I'll almost always run a third party launcher like GO Launcher Ex or ADW Launcher Ex, so the top priority for people like me (who prefer AOSP) I would guess is the smoothness outside of HTC Sense. Battery life, performance tweaks, CRT animation, etc is all I can think of right now off the top of my head.
Oh yeah, this is probably just me, but I always thought that the glossy bars and menus on HTC Sense themes get a little too much after a while... I prefer matte or subtle gradients instead
lots of ram, smoothness, aosp "like", like CM builds. fast, fast, fast, battery battery battery battery, battery!!! fast data lock, fast wifi lock, fast gps lock. customizable drawer (# of icons etc.) I as well usually run a 3rd party launcher and lockscreeen, but if these things can be integrated into the rom...then i would save ram, processing power, and battery. Features such as widget locker customization, features such as sense drawer (rosie) but with customizable/tweakable # of icons and other things. Customizable animation in the main screen and customizable dock. I wish I was a developer!!! lol, no extra programs to bog down the rom, if I want it, I'll install in myself!! beats audio or voodoo sound optimization.
most important tweakable bitrate and quality control for the camera.
Beats audio with the little notification where you can toggle it.
Make it fast and stable!

Okay, so smoothness, battery, speed, ability to make it look how you want it, beats audio, and picture quality.
Forgive my ignorance, what is beats audio? Is it some kind of equalizer? From what I've seen, it seems to be just a bass booster.
+1! Speed and stability. Any improvement in battery life is a big plus. I would welcome any new developer!

I'm perfectly content with DSPManager. Does the same thing without the Beats marketing. To nitpick beats over dspm is like saying Apple is the best phone. It's marketing as far as phone goes. Now The REAL Beats Headphones... THOSE are the REAL DEAL

Is there any way a developer could make a "pure" aosp rom? I know beastmod is aosp like but still based on sense frame work. I would probably crap my self if some one developed a stock aosp gingerbread rom,(I know X is working on ics). I say gingerbread because it may be "easier". Idk tho I'm a total noob when it.comes to development stuff

I went from the old Energy April Release to Quicksense 7.0. I must say Quicksense is fast! Even scored higher on Quadrant. And audio is good! Reason I left Energy was because I had a few minor glitches, mainly in the BT.
Cons though... mainly for me, Leedroid, doesn't have it. I like my 5x5 icons, I like my battery bar on top, and a few other minor things I can do with Energy rom. Another con for me, I can't enable sound effect for the weather, weather widget crashes every time. ;/
The new energy rom just came out and I plan to try it out! Waiting for the download.
I was just curious what you guys prefer and why?
I don't do quadrants..... But quick sense is the best rom I've ever felt on the Amaze on either OS when it comes to performance...

Oh... lol. That sounds really great. I would give it a try right away.
I literally thought you are using stock ROM at the moment (your signature).
I had 1 major issues and 1 minor issues with Quicksense.
Major is was that I could not get music to play through BT using my car's stereo. It would just go through the phone's speaker, even when told it to use my car. My minor issue, I need my 5x5 drawer lol. I love that!
Does anyone know if Energy is based on 2.14.531.3?

I will agree. My daily rom is MeanROM but I've tried them all and I think they're pretty much all the same. Only thing that's separating them are tweaks, they definitely all look the same. From what I hear the VenomRom will be the one that separates itself from the rest, when it gets released.

Dude you should try this rom. they've made this rom very light and now i usually have around 175 - 220mb FREE.
just 3 bugs so far.. which i have already reported on day one.
1- Facebook Calender Sync doesn't work.
2- Gallery and Music app fails to load and search files. ( most of the time ) its a pain though :x
3- No Predictive Text in the keyboard. ( you'll have to use the ****ty SwiftKey for that.)
I've flashed Mean rom... All I noticed was 2% drops in battery every few minutes.. And it looked like the same stock ics layout
What's so special about It
We need roms that have boot animations and tweaked batt life roms that tweak the ui something extra ordinary
Stock suits me for now until I see a tricked out rom one that physically just looks different to the eyes

A thread was created about this a while back but now times have changed so i wanted to ask for opinion. Sense or pure Google for your liking?
This is my first HTC device and I decided to run stock on this phone and its great! sense is nice and its has replaced many third party apps that i would use on AOSP ROMS. But i do have complains about sense or more particular, Meanrom 4.1+.
I know this device has a large screen and all and battery is beefy but on regular use, im getting about 11-12 hours on MeanRom. I was expecting 16+ hours. its not bad but coming from an LG with an S3 CPU, i feel like i havent moved anywhere with battery life.
Also, The memory seems to be low. Im used to having 300+mb RAM free all the time, now im on this and im between 100mb and 200mb And one more thing is that my screen brigteness doesnt stick to my settings and my cpu control app doesnt stick with my Gorvernor.
What do you guys think? im having a love hate thing here but having S-on, i dont want to constantly switch roms

Stability and battery life
There are only 3 sense 5 threads right now, try them out
I'm currently on Newt's M7 (stock kernel), as stable as stock.
Battery can idle many days, or last a full day of use. Almost no wakelocks.
Had a little more drain on Z's kernel before. Others didn't really convince me.
But watch out for Hada and Joelz, they have/make interesting customizations!
I thought these topics were banned because differences on opinion result in flame wars. And they just hurt the devs really.

Newt's M7 is really good. The only thing I've had trouble with on his ROM is that Photo Editor FCs on me. I haven't tried Joel's yet.
Joels is pretty good I'm running it now. I didn't see anything different then what newt had in his... Looks so far to be just a direct port. Although I'm sure he will add stuff as he has time

Tried Newt , NOS and Hatka.
Newt is most feature rich,.
NOS seems to be the most fluid, fastest and probably most compatible.
Hatka has some tweaks (battery mods, built in toggles) and the one sense 5 Rom i keep as a backup.
They are all nearly clones of each other though. They are all about blink feed which is the nicest of all the feeders like Flipboard and feedly. I do miss it sometimes as it is the best newsfeed aggregator out there by a long shot.
I had problems with newt's rom. now on hatka supreme and it's amazing.

lol. thought the M7 was Newt. I meant the digital dream rom.
I had problems installing Hatka supreme at first because of all the options in Aroma. I like to de-sense a little bit and remove apps that that I will never use, The problem is that I kept getting weird FCs and other odd behavior until I just did a straight install of everything. Since then running smooth. nos seemed to burn too much battery for me too.
Only bad thing about new NOS is battery life
Is there a way to customize the dock icons on Sense5?
