I just got my Tfp and ut seams like the speaker is boken beviset i vänt hear any sound comming from it but when i connect my headphones ut works. Any One here Who got the same problem?

I do get sound, though I am disappointed with the device sound. Comes from only one side and seems pretty quiet. Headphones fix it though.
I actually had the problem of extremely soft sound coming out of the speakers. Tried volume+ and it did help a bit but it would randomly just go silent.
After much tweaking and such, I've 99% confirmed that its a blown speaker.
Disassembled it today to recheck the connections and no luck!
Cold boot doesnt help either!
Currently awaiting the shop to find a spare speaker for me...
There has been a few reports of the speaker not working from the git go. You got a bad unit and you'll have to exchange it for another.
As for the volume, I compared mine to my friends ipad 2. without volume+ they were about equal, ipad may be just slightly louder.
with volume+,volume boost set at +7, and bass at +4 it is noticeably louder than the ipad and the sound is much cleaner and better sounding. I'm actually very impressed with the speakers, especially for a tablet.

Having a similar issue.... the speaker will work and then just cut out... I don't think it is a blown speaker since if it was then it would never work, but mine works intermittently.

I can not get a good sound no matter what I do. I have always used power amp and never had a problem with sound. With my epic I always ran music thru my car stereo and it rocked. With this phone I got so mad today at how bad it sounded I just turned off.
I have tried every adjustment I could but no dice. It just sounds distorted no matter what I do. Do u think I have a defective one? Like I said my epic would rock and sounded so good so u would think this phone being the 3rd generation it would be better in sound quality also. I have tried the stock player to and it sounds worse.
Edit: forgot to mention I also had beats flashed onto the epic too.

Try the app from the play store called Volume+. I've used it only to modify the external speaker for better quality on other devices, but there are options to modify sound for the in call speaker & headset also. You'll want to select headset obviously as it just refers to audio out via the 3.5mm jack. I hope this helps you & your able to adjust the audio profile for better quality, as I've had success with this app, but I haven't used it on the gs3 yet?
I'll give that a try. I am also getting a buzzing at the beginning and around the
Middle of songs to. It's about a 1-2 s3 one buzz
Edit: just looked it up. Doesn't work on the Sprint version of the GS3 yet.

Ok, well there are other apps if you google search or search the play store & also look at the roms in your dev section & I will almost guarantee one of them has dsp manager or some sort of audio equalizer app included.
Now the buzzing noise is 95% one of two things. 1) The auxiliary outlet in your car stereo has an issue or it just gets a poor connection, this can happen sometimes in lower end after market head units or for other various reasons I'm sure.2) The auxiliary cable your using is causing it because of a short or because cheaper cables just get a ****ty connection & thus provide ****ty audio quality. Try buying a more expensive one and give it a shot as soon as you get to the parking lot, if the problem persists then you can walk right back in & tell them its not what you needed & get a refund. 3) Your phone has a bad 3.5mm jack. (This is possible, but probably the least likely)
Please report back what your results are after trying these few possible solutions. I think you'll have a viable fix here soon. I hope this helps out.
It's not a cheap deck lol it's Pioneer. The buzzing does it with the stock head phones and my after market jvc earbuds.
If I turn the volume up (headphones) halfway it's starts to sound distorted. With my epic I could rock the volume the whole way up with out any distortion.
I'm starting to wonder if it's the Jack. It's bad lol

I would take it back to Sprint it sounds like there is something wrong with the phone. Unless its the MP3 you are listening to is bad quality.
Edit:
Looks like there is a bug with some phones http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778451

That really sucks if its the jack, just because you have to set everything up again. I wasnt aware there was a known issue with the jack, but I hope your able to at leastget a working one. Good Luck
Hi there, I recently bought an HTC amaze and I love it so far, but I do have one problem. When I use any pair of headphones or 3.5mm jack my music will play out of both sides, but it's much quieter on the right side. I've tested this with many sources and nothing has worked so far. Is this a common problem? I have 30 days to return the phone but I'd really rather not if I don't have to.
Not an issue on my Amaze.
Have you tried different headphones? Or maybe one of you ears is going bad.
Haha... Definitely not my ears. I've tried several headphones and aux cables and none have worked. Guess I'm going to have to return it. I figured it was probably a hardware issue.
Before you do that try using compressed air in the headphones jack to see if there maybe something in there.

That was actually my first guess. It almost looks like it won't go all the way in, but even with tons of force it won't go down any further. Looks like I'll be using bluetooth headphones.

P.s did get my money back and the guy said keep the phone as he will not return to his shop in 3 months ^_^
Hey guys, does anyone have this issue? The audio from the loudspeaker is just crap, and also the position of it is away from the screen?? What sense does that make? I'm trying to watch a video, not broadcast the video's audio to everyone in my general area (except me).
Now that's a physical problem and can't be fixed. What I'm really mad / inraged about is the jack audio. Any type of headphones I plug into is extremely quite. Compared to my old phone (xperia play) I can't hear anything....is this normal? Does anyone else have any similar problems? I can't even wear these outside and listen to music, the wind and car noise is far louder. I'm forced to bring my old xperia play instead just to hear something (which btw, it's like twice as loud on this phone) and if that's going to be the case every day then it's time to sell this Evo 3D.
Another side note is that the range of the audio is also not very good, I can hear it struggle with high ranges as it makes "pops" in the audio...very disappointing..

It's possible that my phone is faulty, but let me ask you this; what volume is your phone at when you think it's fine? I have to place mine at max to be "fine", not great, but fine. While the xperia play is at 50% being just fine.

I personally keep mine at 30% - 40%, it's a comfortable volume. Anything past 70% is a bit too loud. Do you think it may be your headphones..? Or it could possibly be a software issue like your ROM.

Originally I thought it was my rom, so I flashed another; same issue, so then I flashed the RUU...same issue. Tried different headphones, same issue, tried the same headphones on different devices...works completely fine at loud audio. Guess the phone is screwed. It already doesn't have any gsm radio connectivity.

Are you using the HTC headphones? Because after plugging in the original HTC headphones it came with, I found that these headphones are loud and working correctly. So it seems that any other 3rd party headphones will not duplicate the same result. That is unfortunately because I hate the htc ones, they don't cancel out background sound at all. They all have the exact same jack, 3 rings, same size, etc. But the HTC one is different. When plugging those headphones into my xperia it gives an error and says they aren't supported. So it's obvious that HTC put some type of technology into them that differs them from regular headphones.
Edit: Alright, so I tried yet another pair of headphones lying around and they work fine too. Is it possible that I tried the worlds only two headphones that don't work well with this phone? In any case, I'm no longer mad about the jack audio, it's obviously fine. But the loudspeaker is and always will be an issue, which sucks but oh well.

Nope, using third-party (JVC) headphones. Good to see you've got it sorted out though. Also I agree about the loudspeaker, it's a piece of crap. My old Evo 4G had a better one.
My phone is quite loud!
On mwakious Rom and it has tweaked audio settings.
It's gsm but maybe try the xloud mod available. Should improve audio volume

Hey there,
Today I decided to eventually officially get the xperia z2 so I opened the headphones and plugged them in. They're absolutely amazing, better than anything I've had so far in terms of in-ear headphones. However, I noticed a problem. Not sure if it's just me with faulty headphones but when they're plugged in and they're not like leaning a certain way, there's extreme noise, songs randomly change, Google Search app randomly opens etc. If I spin the headphones while they're plugged in as in just turn the 3.5mm jack around while it's in the hole, songs stop playing, there's really loud noise too. Have I got faulty headphones or a faulty headphone jack/phone?
Thanks in advance for any help! If some of you could please try reproduce this with your noise cancelling headphones and report back I'd appreciate it tremendously!
P.s it might be worth nothing I did put the phone in a bit of water for about 10 seconds just to test it is waterproof and I assume the headphone jack is too so it shouldn't be that right?
Jack might take upto few hours to dry up, says so in user manual

That's weird. I did the whole water thing yesterday afternoon so it's easily been over 24 hours and it has been heating up like crazy today because I've been using it so much so it should've dried up by now surely?
Thanks for your reply! :good:
Yeah it should be fine by now, then probably faulty jack or headphones as this is first time i hear this problem.

Just tried a standard pair of headphones they seem to work fine with no interference and no random music stoppages. If I spin the NC headphones while it is plugged in, I hear noise only in the right headphone. The noise specifically sounds like how it would if you were on the phone to someone and they were tapping their headphone mic on their end then the music stops. Hmm guess I'll be going back to get them swapped tomorrow!
Thanks again!
Edit: Just tried the headphones on my laptop and they seem to be working fine regardless of position. I think it may be the jack after all. Will be taking phone in to be swapped/repaired tomorrow.
Im no professor in these things, but i think nc headphones have more contact points compared to usual headphones, so if say 1 of those extra contacts were messed up, only z2 would react to it while laptop would ignore it and use them as conventional headphones. Just my theory, dont know how valid it is

Yeah I feel like either one of the points are messed up on the headphones or one of the contact points in the jack is messed up. I'll have to go in store tomorrow and try another pair of 5 contact point headphones as I don't have any others with me. I'll update tomorrow afternoon thanks again for trying to help! :good::highfive:
I have exactly the same problem, 10 - 15 minutes after a brief bit of radio in the bathroom, but the phone wasn't inside the actual shower, I plugged my noise cancelling headphones in and immediately heard a couple of small pops. Thought nothing of it to be honest, but as my journey to work went on the noises got louder and more distorted and seemed to be being caused by the background noise itself. Then the phone just went mental, started getting very hot and taking me to the Smart Connect App for no reason, the speakers stopped working completely, could call people, but not hear anything (dial tone or voice), even after multiple re-starts nothing. Tried calling my phone from my desk phone and the speakers were working for ringtone/notification, but not music and voice! Then after turning it off and leaving it for a while, things seemed to come back to normal, but then I tried plugging the headphones in and once again the phone went mental. Running stock ROM, unrooted on 17.1.A.2.55 (STILL!) I'm a bit miffed to say the least. The phone has in some respects exceeded my expectations, but sometimes feels like a half-baked product.
Now the phone isn't recognising the noise cancelling headphones at all and the phone has mad battery drain and random volume issues (alarms are refusing to silence and quiet, then loud speaker volume) considering I was in a steamy room and not actually immersing the device in water.. This totally sucks going to Sony store tomorrow..
OK just an update on what's been happening with my phone/headphones since my last post. Went to Sony store (and three store) and was basically told "meh, phone Sony" so I called 08705237237 and the girl on the phone told me to "repair the software" first and if this don't fix the problem then send headphones in for repair! As for the headphones, they are no longer recognised as noise cancelling ones for 99% of the time, when they are recognised, they make the phone go utterly mental and freeze up! Very annoying. Will try software repair and report back. Will this error affect the use of the stm10 mic I have on preorder, will have to see..

The sound is absolutely fine for me with a pair of Trinity Delta V II earphones.
You're not going to get a great sound with just the phone speaker but that's simply because it is a phone speaker... even on high end devices like my old HTC M9 I thought the sound out of the speakers was tinny.

With the phone speaker, have a try ! I have a very nice sound with my old NOTES3. So i don't know what to do with that phone. Because i use a lot the phone speaker (GPS, Ringtones...).

Earphone sound is fine for me, much better than Nexus 5 in fact. The internal speaker isn't that good but use app's equalizer to improve it.

As I said, its a phone speaker with a tiny, not well tuned driver... what do you expect? Even in high end devices the phone speakers are rubbish and have absolutely no bottom end because they're trying to run all frequencies off of 1 tiny driver. The volume aspect on the P9000 is plenty loud enough for me.
Are you using the GPS in a car? If so just hook it up to your car speaker system, either by Bluetooth or auxiliary cable.
one of the first negatives i had of this phone was the very thin audio, its almost forced beyond its speaker.
coming from a Huawei media pad x2 which is superior with all the bell and whistles i should of known better.
i suppose its only a 200 euro phone and you get what you pay for sadly.

Sorry, when I said drivers I meant the speaker cone, I'm a sound and lighting engineer for nightclubs and we refer to the speaker cones as drivers.
One hint: in sound options there is the possibility to disable loudness. This helps a little bit, but sound is still not good. But its a phone speaker..
Flat sound no Level
Sound is still really flat, like the beginning of the stereo in 1980 !!!
Well I find the sound ok through the speaker (only one not two like it is made to look like!) but of course I listen to music through headphones and mine sounded fine with with ear buds or over ear Bluetooth ones. Also ran it through my Bluetooth speaker fine as well as my bluetooth connection to the HiFI.
If anything it is a little loud and bright but as people say it is a very small speaker
I had the same problem... Bad sound out of the speakerds... A lot of distortion... I found the solution... The phone comes with an audio booster activated out of the box... Just turn it off .. Got a booster for earphones too... Just deactivate it... Go to setting then sound and then at the bottom select the last option... Audio improvements or something like that. Regards.
