Okay so I recently found out that an app that I downloaded generates the verification code within my phone and sends it to the apps server before the server sends it back via text. I found a tutorial about the app, but it was on an iphone and was showing the http backend server request and apparently it works on androids too.
My question is how would I intercept the request before it is sent and find out what the verification code is? The idea behind it is to spoof a number and verify it on your phone to work. I wanted to see if it would work. I can post the website I read the tutorial on if wanted.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

You could use a packet sniffer inside your android, like
this one: hxxp://droidhacks.com/tag/wireshark/
Or you could force the packets to be routed through your computer,
This could be made with
An ad-hoc connection between a PC and your Droid. A bridge or nat service in your PC to connect the device to internet.
Install a proxy in your PC, then make the phone connect through it.
Share your PC internet through Bluetooth, Use this to connect the phone.
Then sniff the connection, use wireshark for this...
Can anyone else please help or give advice as I was not able to find the solution
bump anyone?
good luck finding help here :/
No one is going to tell you how to do this.

I was wondering if it would be possible to develop the ability for my application to connect to my PC to be able to access the hard drive via USB? I tried searching around for ways to implement this but I can't find anything. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing or its just not possible, not sure. So if anyone knows if or how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

I would suppose this process to be OS specific and potentially require/be easiest with an application on the computer as well as the phone or tablet for the information to communicate back and forth.

I know there are apps on the market which turn the mobile into a webcam with an IP.
However, I am interested in simply connecting to the mobile via a usb cable, and port forwarding the camera image to the PC.
Has anyone figured how to do this?.
TIA.

Hello,
Just wondering whether anyone had any ideas on this.
I use a PC at work all day but quite often want to use GTalk to chat to people. Unfortunately my company blocks it so I can't use a browser to chat but obviously I can through my phone.
I used to have an HTC Desire that was rooted so that allowed me to use droidvnc to connect to my phone from my PC via vncviewer using USB(There's no wifi here).
It then meant I could type on my keyboard which makes things a whole lot easier when you're in the middle of something.
Basically now I've gone to an HTC One X I'm just wondering whether there's any app or anything that would let me do the same thing but without rooting the device as I don't want to invalidate any warranties just yet.
So in summary I'm really after a bit of software to let me remote control my phone via USB for the purpose of using GTalk or any other ideas anyone might have to get round it
Thanks

Hi There!
I have got an idea for application, and I am not sure where else to post it as I do not consider this a question, more likely an idea, if this is wrong section, please move the thread somewhere else.
I am not sure, whether application like this exists already, nor could ever be created, but the idea is simple. Basically, I am connecting to two different wifis during my usual day. One in work, second at home. Now I have my phone connected with Work exchange and a lot of emails are confidential, which is the reason, why I have set password on my lockscreen, to prevent anyone getting into my phone in case I would loose it.
These two wifi networks, are however very safe place for me, and place where I use my phone the most, and typing in the password every moment when I need to access my phone is not effective, and can get quiet frustrating.
The idea was, that the phone would automatically switch off the password protection, if connected to one of those networks, and when in out of reach from those networks, phone would again required password to type in order to access it.
If you ask me, I guess I would not be the only user of this app, and it might be worth considering and possibly developing. I have never tried to create any application on my own, so I am not sure, whether that would be possible, and something inside says that it might be quiet complicated, but I will leave this to more experienced devs to see what could be done.
Thanks for help/responses
look up an app named tasker. perfect app for you .

Hey all,
I have a non-rooted Android 8.0 phone.
I'm looking for an Android app that will:
1. Open an SSH connection with private key to a remote host
2. Create a SOCKS 5 dynamic tunnel
3. Use Android's VPN mode to transparently proxy selected apps through the tunnel
For example, I can do 1&2 with connectbot but then have to configure the apps manually to use the tunnel if they support socks.
I can use another app to be the transparent vpn but that adds more work and multiple stages.
I'm looking for a "one stop shop" that works like Orbot with selected app vpn mode, but over ssh instead of tor.
Are there any such apps? I can't find anything on my own...
Thanks!

The first link you provided is for developer posts only and my post there was deleted.
As for the second link, I searched and there was nothing there that related to my problem. So I posted here as the definition of this forum says it is meant for App assistance to users and to post questions and seek help.
Thanks for trying to help though!

There was an app called Ki4a that did this, but it had ads. For some reason it's gone from the Play store. I think you can still get it from apkpure. I found your question looking to see if anyone else had made something like that.
As i told to the other thread I found this one but i can not connect with private key.

So is there an app for this?
