I have set VTL Launcher as my default launcher but, recently every time I start the GTab up I get the question which launcher do I want to use as my default launcher. Any suggestions?
Did VTL come with your rom or did you install it (from market or side load). I ask because if you installed it from the market or side loaded it, you may want to try moving the .apk to /system/app. You can use a root file manager or ADB to do this, make sure the permissions are correct (same as other apps in that folder) then reboot. Hopefully it will only ask you one more time for your default launcher. Also uninstall any other launchers you aren't using and go to settings->applications->VTL Launcher and clear defaults if any are set before you reboot.

As the title says i tried every way i even deleted the apk with root explorer but every time i'm trying to install the plus ver says "application not installed"
i tried via adb but it keep saying "app already Exsists"
what should i do??
Try installing the normal version then unlocking it with your key.
You can uninstall it using Titanium Backup (I have just uninstalled it from the lite version in favour of ADW).
edit: sorry after rereading I think Ive misunderstood the original question!
Firstly : Extract the light version and you will get two folders and one file.
Second : Go to system folder -> apps
Third : Find launcherpro apk and delete it. Replace it with ADW launcher
Fourth : Zip it back and use recovery menu to reinstall the ROM again
Fifth : You will get ADW launcher instead of launcherpro
Six : Install launcherpro plus and uninstall ADW.
Or
Install ADW launcher from the market
Delete launcherpro
Reboot your phone (Important)
Go to setting > application > Manage application > Delete launcherpro
Install launcherpro plus
I rooting my NT via t-r-i-c-k mac script and got it up and running just fine. However, I accidentally hit the default on homecatcher to the Nook Home and not the goLauncher home.
Anyone know how you can get back to where you can choose and there is no default. Thanks!
BTW t-r-i-c-k thanks for making such an easy root.
Just install another free launcher. Then Homecatcher will start prompting again and you can uninstall it. There may be a more elegant fix, but this only takes a minute.

Clear defaults from the Application Settings or install another launcher to clear defaults.
Homecatcher settings
Same problem here, I cannot get my Nook button back to original after installing Homecatcher. Installing new launchers and resetting defaults and cache do nothing. I have uninstalled it and my launchers trying to get the prompt back. There is no access to settings in Homecatcher only a donate link, what's up with that? How do you access the settings? How can I get my 'N' button to once again pull up my Nook default settings? Thank you in advance.
you can download manage applications on android market then go to homecatcher and clear defaults
Re-installed Homecatcher
I did the same thing on my son's NT and spent a few hours doing things, including trying to re-root, which didn't need to be done & I couldn't figure out how to do it. I read this thread & tried to find those options, but to no avail. . . so I just decided to find the Homecatcher app and re-installed it & the N function to toggle back and forth between the Nook home & Android launcher works just fine now.
I made the same mistake and no longer have homecatcher giving me the option, when I look at it with ES file manager there are no defaults, I have uninstalled and reinstalled homecatcher from the reference thread on this forum, still only BN home comes up and when I goto homecatcher I only get the donate screen.
I had made this mistake before but can't seem to clear it this time....please help?
I have tried to install other launchers, but they get errors and won't install.
Resolved - restored B&N home and homecatcher from Titanium Backup, working fine now. I think restoring the backup of B&N home is what really fixed it. I suspect that's where the default became set and it wasn't visible from ES Filemanager or Go Launcher so I could not clear the default.

I have been tackling Go Keyboard since it has decent landscape keyboard for tablets.
But I had seen FC's so many times and it asked me to download it again because Go Keyboard isn't deployed (it was indeed.)
I looked up Keyboard threads and managed to stop FCs.
1. Install Go Keyboard.
2. Copy apk file from data/app to system/app
3. copy apk file from data/app to mnt/sdcard
4. reboot and install apk from sdcard if Go Keyboard force closes again.
This method required re-installing Go Keyboard after every reboot.
So here's what I've figured out.
5. Delete apk file from system/app after re-installing Go Keyboard.
6. Reboot and you will see no more FCs.
This is not it.
If you want to install Pad plug-in, which I was so eager to use, you will see Go Keyboard asking you to download it and install it again every time you reboot your NT.
Well... you can just clear notification but I thought it was so annoying after all.
7. Go to Market and install Startup Auditor.
8. Once you launch the app, disable Go Keyboard. In other words, you should check both boxes.
Hope this works for everyone who wants to use Go Keyboard especially with Pad Plug-in. I am not sure if the whole thing works without an issue. But I know using Startup Auditor will remove notification because it worked on my Dad's KF as well.
I use cm10 which has Trebuchet launcher as the default launcher.
As this launcher has limited number of customizations i want it to be replaced by the Apex launcher.
How to delete the Trebuchet launcher and replace it with the apex launcher before flashing the ROM?
Hi mate,
You can either open the ROM zip file, go to: /system/app and copy there the apex apk or better(if you ask me..) just download the apex launcher after flashing the rom and choose it to be default.
If for some reason you want to delete it, you can use root explorer to locate and delete the trebuchet apk from the path above.
*Don't forget to give the root explorer root access if you use the second method.
Cheers.
Hi guys,
I'm using a Huawei P9 with firmware EVA-L09C432B386 and I'm trying to convert Apex/Nova launcher to system app. It's because the phone wouldn't allow you to use certain widgets such as weather on third party launcher.
I moved both Apex and Nova folder from /data/app to /system/app and change the permission to Owner RW/Group R/Other R. But after rebooting the phone, the already installed launcher apps were missing. I couldn't find them in the drawer or "Settings - Apps" but only in the /system/app folder, however I couldn't launch or install them from the folder anyway.
Then I tried to use Titanium Backup to convert them to system apps, it just stuck in the "processing" forever. So I shut down the Titanium and reboot the phone, then go into the /system/app folder and there's an launcher apk there, I installed it but it just couldn't function properly.
Do you guys know any other way to convert them to system app, or what I did wrong in the process? Any input would be appreciated.
Ever wonder why no custom ROMs use said launchers as default? Coz you can't.
