WTH: Why is it so hard to find CWM v.* - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I mean what the hell am I missing here.. why is it so hard to find various versions of CWM? I mean maybe I'm just blind and am not looking in the right place.. but I'll be damned if I can find the various versions that often get referenced in various posts...people just reference it but don't offer any links.
What am I missing here?
Is there a newer one than cwm4 for cm7 .. for odin.. ? I read "cwm7" in an ICS thread... was that a typo?

You can find everything you need in the general section. Refer to my [guide] installing a rom/cwm recovery/root/ or going back to stock.

Heh you are totally right. I ended up finding it right after I posted the thread, but couldn't find the delete. I've looked through them all in the past and ended up finding some dead links and not the latest things I was looking for, but clearly thats not true anymore.
Thanks.

dude there are so many froyo roms on this thread list i cannot believe you havent read any of em... nope still cant believe it but welcome to the forums. just read any thread that says froyo jk two or six. six is the latest. oh and read up on odin before you ask about going back to stock.
What??? What threads are being deleted??? Still see them here on my end...
Get ROM manager and download one of the 2.2 .zip files ...reboot in clockwork and find your file and install.

To answer your question click on the treads that either have Froyo, JK2 or JK6 in their title and download the rom. You can only flash these roms through clockwork recovery. Have fun with android 2.2.
P.S. next time please post a Question thread in the Q&A part of the Vibrant forum. It will make things easier on everyone.
Welcome
I suggest you TAKE your time & READ this very carefully
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732458
It'll save you a lot of headache & you'll learn a lot
Or if you are having that much trouble searching through the threads always go to the directory(Bible) which is always the first thread in the development section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771111When I first started coming on here it was always my first stop. There are now 7 flashable 2.2 roms and a few odin 2.2 roms. The flasheables are all dated after 11/15
And yes use Q&A for questions unless you like getting flamed.

Another person didn't read the instructions, didn't do their research, and flashed an I9100 modem.
Lucky you didn't hardbrick by flashing stuff without doing your research first.

Same happened to me. Install a UCKH7 modem.
So yer telling him to flash a modem that wont fix his problem, which is the voice calls? Did u see he flashed an ics rom?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
These threads should be closed immediately just on general principle.
Any rom that removes voice is best characterizd as a downgrade, not upgrade.
The only ics Roms that work on our phone is in the ported development threads. Other than that, read read read. Good luck.

An yet it is still a dumb thread that could have been answered with some searching and reading.
I have been searching and reading and cannot find the answer to this problem. If someone could please point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I would not consider myself a "noob" as I have flashed 50ish roms on 4 different phones (total). This problem is driving me crazy. Please share your helpful input rather than trolling back. Thank you.

Where to download latest stable versions of Odin, ClockwordMod Recovery Touch, TWRP?

I see a lot of tutorials that have different links for download different versions of Odin, CWM Recovery Touch, and TWRP, but what are the latest stable versions of all of these and where can I find them? Maybe I'm searching incorrectly but I haven't been able to track these down, could you please help by pointing me to their project sites where I could find this? Thanks.

I don't really think you can root your phone with a stock ROM
The way to root via odin is with a kernel.
if you don't know how, i recommend http://galaxys2root.com/
No disrespect intended....but forget galaxys2root.com........all the info you need can be found right here on XDA......and the chances are that 'other' websites got their info here anyway.......
As previously mentioned.....rooting with a custom kernel is your best bet......
Some kernels require flashing via Odin, but at least one can be flashed via the stock recovery.....
You can also use chainfires cf root.
Read some of the 'stickeyed' threads under the various S2 forums for links to the info you need.

arnt you supposed to have partion checked also.to root mine i used a program called qick root then i flashed Mytic Glory v5.0. works like a beauty

No, you're not supposed to have repartition ticked. Do you want people to end up with busted phones or something ?

actually i heard about this website before i knew about xda. so thats why i recommended it
So ? It's a bit much to expect most people here to help bozos who insist on using stuff from other sites when every method to do every thing you could ever want to do with this phone can be easily found here & people can easily get help if they get stuck.
This is the point that was clearly lost on you.

Hmm i'm not totally clear on what you're trying to say.
I know there are lots of methods to root at xda, but as i used it myself and was very confident while using their guides i just recommended it insted of looking for a good root method here. ( i haven't searched for any in xda as it's unnecessary)
And as most of guided are originated from xda as keithross said, we can easily help the person whether the guide is from xda or elsewhere.
The points that mistahbungle and I are making are...
1) the OP is here on XDA.
2) YOU are here on XDA
3) all the info that the OP needs is here on XDA.
And yet here you are, referring the OP AWAY from XDA......
What's the point in that?
And for info.....everything I looked at on that website has or appears to have been kanged straight from XDA anyway.....including rom and kernel assets (I think alliance rom and jeboo kernel to name just two were created by devs who posted them on XDA)......without mention of XDA or the devs who actually did all the hard work to create the software........not exactly showing support for the community, is it?
