[Q] Why can't I view 3d vids from Youtube anymore? - HTC EVO 3D

I used to be able to view 3d moves off of YT, but now all I get are two side by side vids. I check and 3d switch it on. Other than that I don't know.

More info.... Are you rooted, what rom, any mods, wifi or 3g, etc....

No not rooted, stock.

It won't show under normal definition. You have to have HD on in order for it to play right.

UPLOADING 3D VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE (use this tag)

If you plan on uploading any 3D video on YouTube include "yt3d:enable=true" as one of your tags. It will automatically give the video a new pulldown menu option for 3D videos. There are several setting you can play with in the menu and also those that don't have a 3D phone or glasses can still see the video normally.
Here is a video I just uploaded: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO-xsmvBI2c

Yes. Before I read this thread .
Edit: Nevermind
Devs?
Do you think we could get someone to modify the youtube app to put the tag in for us automatically for upload?
I am really surprised that they didn't do this for us before phone came out. They gave us HD upload on the EVO 4G

Any one who has a 3vo want to test a video for me?

I converted a video to fit the 3d's screen size and I want to see if it works well on the 3d. I won't have mine until Friday.

Stock media player doesn't recognize the markorov file. Rockplayer plays it but not in 3D, but the split screen.

It was already a 3d video. I just shrunk it... It was 258MB and now it is around 34MB. The file size difference is what I am after.
Still split screen

Try playing it from the gallery (if you aren't doing that now.)
Sorry it doesn't allow me to, it starts the player automatically from the thread

aahhhh.... No way to press and hold the link, and save as? Or d/l from a computer and copy the file over?
Well it seems like it doesn't work... So anyone want to try to figure out how to convert a half sbs file to actually play properly?

It's almost certainly a file extension issue.
:-( Appears side by side double screen.
What are the file extensions of the camcorder on the 3d? Here is the instructions I used, I was hoping it would carry the 3d over with the file I used.
http://www.knowyourcell.com/htc/htc...deos_and_transfer_them_to_the_htc_evo_3d.html
It could also be that the file type was wrong to start. I don't know if side by side is the format needed.

Is HTC Watch the only app to watch 3D movies with?

Does anybody know if there are any alternatives to HTC Watch for viewing 3D movies?

You can watch 3D movies from the gallery if you purchase and download them to your SD card or Rip a 3D movie that you may have from a Blu-ray disk and convert it to work on the EVO 3D.

Moboplayer does 3D too, which surprised me.
Rockplayer plays 3D videos as well.

How? Whenever I play a 3d video it shows it side by side. I know the stock player does this until you hot menu and then "view in 3d" but I dont see that option in mobo
If anyone wants to try a 3D movie I did shoot me a PM on IRC.

I can confirm it...somewhat. I did some testing of both MoboPlayer and MX player. Both will play youtube 3D (yt3d) just fine. However, when you try to play 3D movies converted to play on the Evo3D, it only plays them as side by side videos. There isn't a switch to make it play them as 3D like the stock player. So to answer your question, yes...sort of.

convert 3D video to 2D for off phone viewing

Is there anyway to convert the 3D videos recorded on the Evo3D into some format that plays back properly elsewhere? I'd like to play a few of the files on my computer/edit BUT the recorded file plays two side by side squished frames
Anyone?

Try This:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140313ht
Click Thanks Button If I have Helped You In Any Way
If that is too confusing a quick/dirty way of doing it is to upload them to YouTube. On your computer you can then choose to view 3d videos through one "eye" only.

YouTube HTML5 3D not working with ICS ROMs?

I've tried 3 ICS ROMs now and each one fails to play HTML5 3D on YouTube stating something like "You device is not HTML5 compatible".
Never had any problems with any of the Gingerbread ROMs. Am I doing something wrong here, has no body noticed, or does ICS not support HTML5?
Some might consider this a non-issue, but I love 3D and YouTube has plenty of it and its simply something I just can't go without (whats the point of a 3D phone if it's not usable?)
Thanks!
Works with youtube app for me. Did you try that? If you're using the browser, did you try a different browser like chrome, firefox, or dolphin?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Also, while on the topic of 3D does anyone know why some HTML5 3D videos play fine in 3D while other videos that support 3D will only play in 2D but still use HTML5?
Like I just installed a Gingerbread ROM (just to get YouTube 3D working) and though it gives me a "3D" option and Stereoscopic 3D HTML5 is one of the supported viewing methods it still plays in 2D. Only happens on some 3D videos though...majority of them work in 3D fine.
Example, if someone wants to try it and see if it works is this video (Doesn't for me. David 8 android commercial from Weyland Industries for Prometheus movie):
Introducing the David 8 - The Next Generation Weyland Robot
Thanks guys and lets get all this figured out! Would really like to use ICS! :fingers-crossed:

OHRLY?!
Didn't know the YouTube app did 3D...and the only browsers I tried were the default and Dolphin HD which neither worked.
What ROM are you using? Thanks!

Mean rom ics (cdma). You have to search for 3d video, there's no option to switch it on/off. Use yt3d in your search to trigger it.
