I am trying to write an expect script to log into cisco devices in my lab from my Xoom running tiamat 2.2.2 rom / HC 3.2.
Here is the script
Code:
#!/system/bin/expect
set timeout 20
spawn telnet 10.1.1.1
expect "Username:"
send "username"
expect "Password:"
send "password"
expect "#"
interact
exit
I think the script is right, however i dont think i have expect in system/bin. Is there a way to install it ?
or better still is there an easier way to automate the login process ?
Thanks in advance for helping a noob
i stumbled across an app called inserty , it gets the same job done , just in an easier way than expect script

Hi,
I need the same job done but for a different reason.
Basically it telnets and sends commands into a Cisco device.
Have you managed to port Expect to Android?

Hi.
Does anybody succeed to install the rom:
[MOD][ROM][ODIN] RTL+Root (Arabic/Hebrew..) support on your Stock AT&T SGS2 from the development section?
I'm pretty sure you'll get a better response by posting this question in the thread itself.
I have no permission to post there yet.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by permission but you can post under that rom. People using it will see it and will be able to give you a hand
This is the message that i get:

Open a new thread with an appropriate title indicating your issue. Just go with one at a time as I see at least 4 to 5 questions in your one post.
And why to root and boot animation are easily found by searching the forums/Internet. A new thread is not needed for them.

(presuming this is the ROM you need) and it'll come up on several torrents. I'd upload it for you but I don't have anywhere large enough to upload it to. This is a 3g 32GB international model, but it's the RUU I used to get back on GB.
Hello,
I also invite you to not have a working link for a RUU.
downgrade
First download the RUU for your device from this thread.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum. Also, I have been using android for a few weeks now and you may classify me as a noob even though I am very experienced with other platforms such as: Symbian, Windows phone, Mac OS and Windows. I got my first android device which is a samsung galaxy tab 10.1 with 3g which I upgraded to android 3.2.Well, it is a pain in the ass to remove some apps and not to be able to change the clock rate. So I have decided to root it. It is very hard to find one tutorial when it comes to my OS version, and there is no one who shared some thoughts after they have rooted their devices. Will there be any issues? Will I receive further updates? Is the system stable after the root?
So guys and girls, share some experience if you have the same device and the same OS installed.
Welcome aboard!
For rooting start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15693193. It provides a very easy way to root your tablet. There you will find also some basics about cwm recovery, which you also should flash either by rom manager apk (from play store) or through odin (a windows program used to flash roms to the tab). All info is in the previous thread. You can't overclock just by rooting. Flash a different kernel. Look at pershoot's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15022459. Before you proceed search Google as to what rooting basically is (well, root access is like administrator rights in windows). Bear in mind that there is a 99.99% chance that your warranty will be void though! Post here any question you might have after reading! Have fun

We all talk about speed tests and have theories about which one works best. I use ShaperProbe http://www.cc.gatech.edu/~partha/dif...aperprobe.html on the Mac and PC. They make a command line Linux version that is awesome but I tried with my newbish Linux skills and can't figure out how to compile it as a Android Linux tool. I realize it wouldn't be an APK but I'd share my results if I can get it working.
I've tried Android Terminal IDE and a virtual terminal and neither of them have make installed and I'm afraid I've reached my skill limit. I'm not asking anyone to do it for me but some assistance would be awesome.
Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

I have a view in my app that i need to change the background of, but the problem is when i do
view.setBackgroundDrawable(drawable); it says it is depreciated to use setBackground instead....
when i try to use setBackground(drawable); i get an error saying requires minimum api of 16, but i need my app
to run on android systems lower than that so what do i do?
Ryan
If you want to, just continue to use setBackgroundDrawable(). Its only depreciated, not killed off completely. or you can check THIS out and program in a work around to use either one depending on what os version the user is on.
sweet
i was able ti fix it by doing buttons[4].setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.utilities_flagpost);
