how to run GTA3 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
i see much videos that people play gta 3 really smooth on the x10 or play/neo (that phones are kinda the same) but on my device it laggs like hell :S i have doomlords kernel with 1,200 Mhz + and Feralab 4.0.

who knows what they did, but our gpu is waaaayy too weak to run a game like gta3, besides the neo and play have newer snapdragon chipsets and better gpu's....also there is a bug in the chipset driver which decreases gpu performance when cpu performance is increased...........anyway.... dont get too excited.... it will always lag...

with cyanogenmod 9 run very smooth

Not all games. Games that are not optimised for ICS only have issues.. Others run fine. Infact even better
ugghh that sucks... currently using bboof's hybrom v17.. but he QUIT. lol. I rmb stock .52 played temple run WITHOUT lag. Even hyrbom lags and ive not tried any rom that doesnt lag when playing temple run..

Rayonium v7(GB) and Aire's kernel is the best experience for gaming. No lag at all in fifa 2011.

I don't know how I do working Nova 3 on My Ray!! I've Stock GB 4.0.2.A.0.62 rooted...
Check out my tutorial in my signature if you want to optimize your Xperia Ray for gaming
you can use lightweight rom that do not have much preinstalled apps..setting your low memory killer to more aggresive..and overclock only a little if it still laggy cause prolonged oc can damage your hardware since ray is compact phone...
I would recommend using superleggera. It's very light. I do not encounter lags nor FCs while playing. Good luck choosing, mate!

ICS VS GINGERBREAD (gaming on p500)

Today we have stable ICS .
its smoother than gingerbread in User interface.but I felt that it is not good for gaming .
Some games started lagging after installing ics which games had never lagged in gingerbread ...

I use genetICS as a daily driver with chainfire 3d and caf kernel and gaming for me is pretty relaxed..than again I'm not really into gaming. I'll occasionally play a game so when I do, I have a good kernel with chainfire and a high OC setting of 768/480 noop performance

GB continues being the right option to play games.
At least on my side, GB uses less ram than ICS. I also think the kernels also make a difference. There's a lot of "gaming" kernels for GB (my choice would either be PP 1.7 or franco's) while you only have two kernels for ICS, both of which do not seem to be tailored for gaming.

Well, I couldn't really tell because I'm not a phone gamer (I play Switch, Angry Birds and other things to kill time), but it's not that bad. Switch is veeery smooth, Angry Birds doesn't lag at all, so... I would say it's bad for gaming. Maybe only for games that need a lot of RAM.
PD: In GB y had OC and used CF3D, and still some games were kind of slow compared to ICS. So, that's it: if we had some more RAM, maybe... who knows?

[Q]Gaming lag preformance

Hello guys
Im runing arhd 17.1 with presus kernel
Iv been playing asphalt 7 and modern combat 4
There is alots of lagging in some stages and some framedrops
(I have 500 ram free and im not using any overclock or anything like that)
I was wondering is there is any way to make the games runs smoothly without any lag cuz iv seen some galaxy s3 devices runing it with no lag !
Is it a rom problem or a Kernel problem with those games what should i do to get rid off the lag
Thanks alot guys in advance
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Can't say for sure if it's the rom or the kernel as I don't use them. I'm on omega v35, siyah 1.8.4. CPU to 1.6ghz, GPU to 600mhz. Both uved appropriately. No lag in both games.
Try oc your gpu if your kernel supports it?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
MC4 works great for me..
One trick.
Get rid of some apps that you don't use.
Go to settings > applications and see running services. See which apps take too much ram and uninstall them.
Get the Siyah Kernel. Open STweaks. OverClock.
Use a rom with the no bloatware feature or option in aroma.
Your games will run perfect then.

Honestly the best combination i've used for gaming has been foxhound coupled with GalaxSih's kernel using supercharger v6 and no ram tweaks.
Every single game i have thrown at it it has dealt with with ease.
Real Racing 2 on a complex levels is a good test to see how stable your phone is, and again FH with Galaxsih just eats it.
There are probably other combinations out there but i've found a great combo and i'm happy with it.
Hope this helps.

not receiving benchmark as promised

hello
yesterday i have installed Enigma v5 rom with nemesis kernel.
rom works fine.just draining battery little bit faster than stock.
before yesterday i was using stock firmware, and i checked my phones benchmark with AnTuTu.
and the result was 5548.
but yesterday i saw the nemesis kernel screenshot that was showing 77++ benchmark with enigma rom.
i flashed the kernel, then installed the rom.
then i checked my benchmark again but my benchmark was same.i was receiving same result.
how to increase the benchmark.my fps was 7-9 fps
Sorry for my bad english.and if i made any mistake then i m sorry.I Am New
Even if ur benchmarks crosses 10000 ... Would it really matter in real phone usage?? Or does better benchMarks indicates super fluid performance??

the elf file is all you need to flash, other files are used by CWM recovery to flash.
What FW do you have?
Which of your tests has lower score than mine (CPU, RAM etc.)

Yhis the old AnTuTu not the new v3 rught?
I don't have specific like this but if we sum yours
CPU 1313+1087 = 2400
GPU 467+2043 = 2510
+ RAM 1077
+IO 175
= 6162
A bit higher than you said.
Is there another IO beside database?
I am on 6.2.A.1.100, debloated and few apps installed, and my score is for stock kernel as I have said, Nemesis give me a bit less but power saving is more important to me than 200 points on benchmark so I am trying nemesis.

Updated AnTuTu just right now, after updating my score was 9089 !! WOW I think AnTuTu has a bug in the new version.
And first time when I tested my score was 5548
5th time my score was 6162 as you calculated.
in new version of AnTuTu i am Receiving 10-14 Fps.
Storage IO-633
I Am Playing Nova 3 with lag
i just want to play every game smoothly.that's why i flashed Enigma Rom.but it is same as stock, lag in game only.otherwise it's a very good rom.

It's not a bug, it's jas new tests so it's a new score system, cannot compare it to older version only results from new version.
My highest score on the new version is 9681 but I had as low as 9100 also.
Benchmarks are not very accurate but they good to give you an idea if something is rerribly wrong.
I don't know about games (I don't play any) but I know the evolve with hardware and normally new games won't be playable with old hardware.

For games more impartant is 3D graphics, nothing much to do about that

See, basically stock firmwares have proprietary drivers which may boost benchmark but then stock ICS and JB are laggy for games on 512 MB devices. Period.
CM and AOSP (not PAC or AOKP) in my opinion are much better for gaming. I play RR3 on CM9 and AOSP JB laglessly. While CM and AOSP ROMs generally score lower on benchmarks.
Hence, don't go on benchmarks and chill
