Bluegrass Cellular Droid X2 Cm7 Question. - Motorola Droid X2

Hello. A friend of mine is wanting me to root his bluegrass cellular Droid x2 and install cm7. I had someone tell me that I need to make sure that it is not for Verizon because it can disable 3g? I'm not sure if this is true but I want to ask. I've only installed roms on GSM devices. Thanks in advance for help =]

Do I detect a duh moment??? In j rummys root tools you can "switch" service providers until reboot... dnt know if that's helpful or not ..

Sounds like it may be a Milestone X2. Post your phone info lines and include the kernel ver.

Will a rogers razr work on bell mobility if unlocked?

Before i go ahead and drop money on it will it even work? I know rogers and bell use different frequencies.
Thanks

Yes.

They use the same frequencies on the GSM network. Rogers just has 2g available where BELL has cdma which you won't be using.

You won't have an issue. I have an unlocked RAZR on Telus right now. No issues. Bell and Telus share the same network.
It will run like a dream. Btw OP why would you want the Razr when you have thw GNexus. I much rather have that device. Would you trade?

[SOLVED] Remove thread requested.

So I was given an Lg Vortex from Verizon as a form of payment for doing some rooting and what not on my buddies phone and I do not have Verizon and would like to maybe user it as a backup phone for sprint. So I'm wondering if there is an easy free way to carrier unlock it or whatever. I am sure I can use cdma workshop but if I root it is there an easier way? If anybody knows anything about this please do let me know.

Bump! Anybody know anything about this? I have it rooted now. Oh and I do believe it's basically Verizons branded version of the optimus one.

Sooooo I guess can't flash it to sprint without them knowing, from what I've read. However it should be possible to flash it to cricket. That way I can give it to my mom. Does anybody know How to do this easily? I can't find much about it.

Thank you for the suggestion Imgburn, unfortunately switching out my tegra keylayout file didn't work. I compared those files before I posted my topic and they were identical. I tried switching them out anyways, but still no go. TY for taking the time to try to help me .

Are you using any ROM on your phone? If so, try flashing the ROM again so it will reset your system files. If not, then I dont know.
Imgburn- actually I haven't, but I could give it a try.

Nope, unfortunately my rom is pure blur, however I do have a rom backup...I'll update the sys files using it. Lol....don't ask m

Update-i have restored my phone using a older backup. I used tenfars recovery and restored the entire system. My keys are still switched. HELP!
Sent from my Milestone X2 using xda premium
Wow....smack.....the answer was simple. I figured it out. No wonder some of you guys here on the forums don't answer some of the questions asked, because the answers are usually straightforward and simple. Fix-I went into root explorer, and changed the Tegra.kl file manually. I set home from 102 to 158, and back from 158 to 102. However, I still don't understand why my restore didn't revert this because my backup was made long before that file got altered to begin with.

It might have the same CPU but there's differences in hardware and I'm pretty sure changing the esn onto a different phone is not legal

Photon on Verizon
I'm looking to do something similar, I have a Photon that I'd like to get on Verizon, and I don't care at all about 4G. In fact, the kernel I run doesn't support it. I have a Verizon radio on it already, and have confirmed it's on Verizon's network, anyone have any clues what I should do next?

Q] Looking for us cellular moto Electrify tool kit

Is there a tool kit available to unlock and root this phone. If not maybe a link as to how to do so. Its not gsm and does not have sim card. Its on us cellular and its called Electrify...its my friends phone but jus looking for some 411. I have a Gnexus so not familiar wit moto electrify. Thanx

Stay with the nexus
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
There's ways to root it for sure. Check the Electrify forum. If your phone is on android 2.3.5 there's a very good chance that you cannot unlock the bootloader, just like us Photon owners..
EDIT: oops i just now realized that there is no electrify forum.
Yup thats what I noticed only photon which is similar... And def staying wit my nexus now running Carbon 4.2.2 ...lol but my buddies got the Electrify. Jus trying to help him out... Thanx

If he downloaded the ota update he wont be able to unlock
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
I was lucky and my Electrify came with 2.3.5 and was unlock-able, so of course I did! If you did the update to 2.3.5 from 2.3.4 then you have a locked bootloader, no unlocking. You can download and try as it won't hurt your phone other than error out, make sure you are rooted first. There is a how to on the teamuscellular.com, here is a direct link to the page of the download (mods sorry but this is not hosted here so I hope I am not breaking any rules posting another forum)
