Same here. Youtube will load, then soon as I click on ANY video it will crash and just say YouTube stopped working. And since we can't uninstall it, what can we do? I've already cleared cache and all that.
Just noticed this too Asus screw you
What update? I didnt do any firmware update but it still happens, reading around a bit it seems to happen on a lot more devices since today. I doubt it has anything to do with the software but more so the server side of youtube.
I'm getting this as well from clicking on links to youtube vids, but it does the same thing when launching youtube app. Must be serverside issues....
No new firmware update as yet in the UK.
I have not installed the update and Youtube is not working for me.
Yup.
"Unfortunately, YouTube has stopped".
Damn.
I haven't installed an update yet but YouTube is not working for me either. Just says YouTube stopped working and closes. Must be a server issue or something.
Youtube was slow last night. I did update today and now no youtube.

same thing after update. tried clearing cache and data. it works on my phone, but when i go to the market on my phone, or tablet, it doesnt show. it still does on my pc though, whether im signed in or out...
EDIT: to clarify, i just got my 2nd prime yesterday, and had NOT tested youtube before the update today.
Asus doesn't care much about their customers!
How can they release an update before test it!? Youtube totaly dead after today's update for me too I'm using it every single day ! I'll contact their support to share my dissapointment...
Unfortunately Youtube is stopped
I just watched youtube for few mts and try to brown other non-HD Video's and all of a sudden "Unfortunately Youtube is stopped" . I cleared the cahe etc but of no use. Even after the firmware update today the same issue.
ah man, glad i saw this. Been driving me insane the last few hours. Youtube loaded fine but as soon as I click on any video the message "Unfortunately youtube..." appeared and then crashed.
Haven't done the update from today yet.
Previously was working fine.
Cleared cache/dalvik cache.
Still no luck...
edit: glad as in = the likelihood that i am the one who is screwing something up is very low
edit #2: similar problem some people were having about a month ago:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441190
I can confirm that youtube was broken before the firmware update. I updated firmware in hopes YouTube would start working again. Nope, still stops after trying to play video.

You tube works in the browser option if you need to watch a video that bad.
I dont have youtube set as my default player, and I get the option to launch video with the app or browser. I tried the browser, and it played fine.
This would mean that its not a sever issue, correct?
Youtube app works fine on rooted HTC OG Evo....
Before update this evening I was watching batman arkham city videos, worked flawlessly. I updated an hour ago.....goose egg
Weird
Have you guys even bothered to read my thread...the YouTube issue is happening with other devices also...its not just Prime owners. Its being looked into an will be fixed.

Just updated the youtube app to 2.2.14:
-uploading over wifi is still broken for a decent length of video, e.g. 1min/88MB. The upload goes for a while, stops, times out, retries, rinse repeat and then fails.
- cannot play videos. A video will play for 3-5 seconds, freeze, act like it's buffering, and then just stop.
Anyone else get this behavior? I'm on 2.3.4 stock, rooted.

That's the one thing I miss about the iPhone. Yeah, the Youtube app stinks on the iPhone also, but at least you can watch YT videos on the default web browser and *never* have any problems such as buffering.
When I try to watch YT videos on the Android's web browser(s), I get a message that says "Sorry, can't play this video". WTF!

I've been trying to play video on BBC news website with no success. The loading circle just rotates forever. Funny thing is when I first got my sgs2 it played no problem whatsoever. Also BBC iplayer main website won't let me access it, says my phone not supported. Once again I think I could access it before I upgraded from 2.3.3. Java is enabled in my settings and plugins are allowed. I'm unrooted on stock voda 2.3.5. Anybody else sufferring from this problem?

All working fine here... do u have flash installed OK?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yeah, running latest version of flash downloaded from market. Using stock browser. Tried uninstalling flash updates, but made no difference. The red ring just keeps whirling round forever and video never plays. All very odd. Every other site I've tried video works fine e.g. sky news, t3, stuff TV, itv news, gadget show. Even BBC one watchlive worked. I guess it must be my settings somehow? But i've no idea what exactly.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Yes, I have the problem as well. It was one of the good things about the S2 that I could watch all the BBC news videos. I guess the BBC have changed something.
I have just tested and it now works OK using Dolphin HD Browser (and you can watch full screen unlike on the stock browser)
Also the videos work on the official BBC news app
I agree, the first thing I checked in shop on demo gs2 was flash playing video on BBC news website. The speed and smoothness really impressed me. Coming from HTC legend ARMv6 where flash was crap, it helped make my decision to buy gs2 final. At least now I know someone else has this issue and shares my disappointment.
Good to know it still works with dolphin hd though. But for me I'd rather stick to stock browser because if hardware acceleration. So the fact it doesn't work anymore is pretty frustrating.:-(

i have solved this problem by using an older version of adobe flash that i still had backed up in titanium backup. but i don't know if thats the best solution since then you won't get the newest versions and security fixes.....
Using titanium backup to roll back flash might be an option. Although i'm pretty sure I would need root. Interestingly I have uninstalled all flash updates back to 10.1 and it made no difference. So maybe flash isn't the problem?

Can you give me a link to try?
I know that the bbc have recently moved over to HTML5 video content.
http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/22/bbc-moves-towards-html5-for-websites-tells-flash-itll-still-be/
This is probably the issue though I have surfed through the site and it is all working for me.

Interesting article. I presume you want the link to the web page I'm having trouble with? It's just the BBC news front/home page.

If I've picked you up wrong let me know.
Also as I stated earlier BBC iplayer (WEBSITE) says my phone isn't supported. Does that also work for you? Thanks for your input

Hi there. So you're saying that you tried uninstalling flash and you couldn't uninstall it? There was also an update this morning. Is your flash player up to date?
Yea I updated to the most current flash..and when I open the July app..u can navigate to the free hulu site..and when I do..it says to please upgrade flash to 10.2 or above.
Although the free clips part works..I thought this app would allow the free hulu. Part to play..which it doesn't.
I tried uninstalling my current flash to see if it worked, but it didn't.
Worked great
When I launched it screen was a mess but once i logged in, que looked fine and video played great ... Everyday The Prime gets better and better

Your mod did work on build x.11, but I upgraded to .11.1, per the recommendation of the creator of the ViperMod root tool, and now your fix no longer works. I'm disappointed. Anyone not on .11.1, this Hulu Mod works great, if you're rooted of course.

I am not rooted and the apk worked for me. It seems a little buggy (it forced a reboot once, and timed out once, but then it proceeded to work), however, it did work at playing an episode of Parks and Recreation.
I don't even watch that much TV, but I like knowing that I can if I want too.

Old thread, I know, but I was glad to find it.
I was wondering if anyone else was having the problem I am having with this modded app. I can stream movies, or shows that don't contain ads just fine; however if a show begins with an ad, the player just sits and says it's buffering indefinitely. If I play an old movie that contains no ads, the video plays fine.
I am using a rooted TF201 with Virtuous Prime ROM.

I tried to duplicate the problem but it works fine for me. Streams and scales perfectly. I'm running Virtuous Prime ROM; not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I'm running ICS 4.2 on my phone and I can't view flash videos on sites such as NBC.com. What do I need to fix this, I already have the flash player downloaded and installed from the market.

I tried it a couple days ago on NBC.com and the video's displayed a message saying it was not formatted for my device or something like that (was very hard to read as it was black text on a very dark background, but it was near the top of where the video image would be. Flash works fine on other sites.

I understand that it says that the Prime is an unsupported device. But it seems like those problems shouldn't exist with a device this old and on ICS. Which is much more widely adopted now.

It worked for me at least.
