So I was curious what are the best emulators for the TP?
I have dreams of playing NCAA12 (xbox360/ps3) on my Prime, but I know thats not realistic. But what about a PSP emulator? Or even an xbox/ps2 emulator?
I know about the PSX emulators, just curious if there is anything that can play some newer games...
Not yet...in due time..this still a brand new device with a brand new tegra3 5 core chip which has never been used before. Give it some time for developers n app makers to make the most of it. If you want games, check out the link in my signature
If you want to play some retro PC games (LucasArts etc) can recommend SCUMMVM. Works great.

onlive is the streaming game service right? i think I saw it on pulse before. Im not a fan of non-native apps
I was testing out a some N64 roms today via N64oid & tried Zelda Ocarina Of Time & Super Mario 64. Awesome no lag and smooth.
Also tried SNESoid which is the Super Nintendo version. Fun stuff. All this via a Xbox controller

Onlive by far has the best games playable on Android device. Has the best graphics also. Why? Because you playing actual PC, PS3, n xbox360 games on the prime. You feel just as if you playing those systems. I love it. I need to get a controller though. Touch screen games are limited.

Xbox 360 controller is plug-n-play.
Wireless PS3 SixAxis and DualShock controllers has drivers that require root and some savvy.
I would also use a Xbox360 Controller, its easy to use on Prime and also works on PC without much install problems like PS3.
Try use Splashtop for playing PC games, works very well with Skyrim.
I did not mean how to get a controller to work on the prime. When I tried Onlive I could move around the menu's but the games would not work with the controller.

Go into onlive settings and make sure it shows controller. Also make sure to enable controller in Asus prime settings. Same place where you choose what keyboard you want to use in settings.
nds4droid
has anyone tried the app it runs about as good as it does on my nook color
Nesoid/Nes.Emu
Snes9x EX
GBCoid
Gameboid (GBA)
N64oid/Mupen64Plus AE
FPse (PS1)
Gensoid (Megadrive/Genesis)
MAME4Droid (Arcade)
Sixaxis Controller
I've used all these and they work great. NullDC (Dreamcast) is being converted to work on Android too so look out for that too.
PS2 and Gamecube may not be too far behind but haven't seen much in this regard.
Anyway to make the keyboard a controller?
Then all i need is a mouse.

Does this app, or anything related allow PS3 controller capability on an Atrix? Is there anything else (app or mod) that can enable PS3 controller input?
Specifically, can this app allow the PS3 controller to work for emulators; i.e. be able to keymap for N64iod and whatever the best PSX emulator is currently?
If this is not possible, I saw some user's on YouTube using a wii remotes to play their emulators. I have a classic wii remote that would work very well/the same as a PS3 controller. Can someone point me in the right direction to set this up with an Atrix? I can not seem to find anything related to setting up an Atrix with a wii remote.
LOL your post just made me try it! and take it from me, this works 100%!!
Man Mario 3 is now awesome again LOL this is madness!
Works like a charm. I tried it when it came out. SNESDroid works great and fpse as well.

While I don't have much experience with PSx4, I've used FPse for a while now and love it. I've been able to run every game I've tried just fine with very little slowdown...even over webtop....
My only complaint about FPse is that I can't use the "Screen filtering" option without dragging the fps down to about 40-45. I'm hoping as the ROMs mature and speed up the Atrix, this will improve.

PLEASE do not kill me, but I can confrm that Wiimotes work. Dunno if Accesoires like a classic controller work though, not yet tested it.
I only have ps3 one and it seems highly integrated with the tablet now - nice status bar icon, easy way to disconnect, connect both wired and wireless way, navigates through the home menu, etc. I tried ps3 controller with onlive app and it works but directional buttons need long press for some reason, not a big problem as left analog stick seems to replace this functionality, also i believe a,b,x,y keys are swapped in places and do not correspond their physical location on ps3 controller. This was based on a couple of minutes play with lego batman and batman city

thanks..
any variations in controllers dual shack, sixaxis..sry i never used these so no idea wat should I buy
ONE MORE THING: I am more inclined towards Gametel as it can be used with Xperia Arc as well and its size quite small??
sent via awesome aRc (rooted 2.3.4)
If you haven't got PS3 and need to buy something I would not know which one is best. I paired the first original ps3 controller which is a bit lighter but doesn't have vibrations. Haven't yet tried the ones with vibrations and don't know if vibration itself is supported by any of the games so may as well save on the weight.
For onlive I suspect their universal controller would be better because of the labeling of button corresponding their setup plus extra recording etc buttons. You can recharge both controllers from the tablet I think, but onlive may accept regular batteries instead as well - at least their non unoversal does. Don't know how it pairs and navigates through home screens.
Double check if the other one you are considering pairs via Bluetooth for wireless option.

one more thing, do I need to buy the OTG USB Adapter from Sony? or anyone will work??
EDIT:
I just came out from Sony Store, i came to know that PS3 controller only works with PS games...I tried Real Football 11 n some other android games, none of them worked with PS3 controller.
Finally I am going for GAMETEL CONTROLLER.

that is not true I have used my ps3 controller on none playstation games and it works great
I don't know about real Android games, but got my cable today, works with PS1 games, emulators and the system itself. Like PS3 taker said, highly integrated
edit:
And as everyone should know, games should be programmed to work with gamepads in general
can u try Real Football, bike stunts n some other good titles like Samurai Vengeance, Asphalt6, Tank Hero, etc..
sent via awesome aRc (rooted 2.3.4)
Asphalt 6 is a no go. You can control the menus, but not the car. Samurai 2 is a no go too, you can run around, but the buttons arent mapped at all. Likewise with duke nukem and unfortunatly, Onlive. More recent games like Shadow gun and sonic cd work like a dream though
thats y m more inclined towards GAMETEL controller as it has been developed keeping in mind abt Android games, u can see the list of games supported by Gametel.
sent via awesome aRc (rooted 2.3.4)
Is the problem that these games don't offer controller support, I could see no reference to controller support in the menus for Real Football. I know Grand Theft Auto 3 is a game that supports controllers and the PS3 one works great with that.

I'm pretty sure the controller has nothing to do with whether it is compatible or not, it's up to the game dev to add in the bluetooth controller features. But I don't know that from personal experience so I could be wrong . Some offer manual mappings as well for increased compatibility.
At the end of the day the general populous doesn't walk around with a bluetooth gamepad in their pocket, so unfortunatly it's something most devs don't support.
Did some searching around the forums and couldn't find a clear answer - is there any way to use an xbox 360 controller with my photon? Seemed like it might be possible using the HD dock (I realllly want to play gta using an xbox controller). Can anyone confirm or deny?
I somehow made mine work, was a hell of a process though. Ended up finding an app on my phone that would sync to my computer via wifi and see my controllers(plugged into my comp) signals and send them to the Photon. Cant recall name of app off top of head though..

Which version of Android are you using? I seem to remember one of the big features of ICS was native USB device support, so I'm curious if you still need third party apps for gamepads. I'd really like to see if I could use HDMI out and a 360 controller to turn my phone into a full fledged console.

Yeah forgot about that, I was on Cybiks CM7 at the time. On CM9 but haven't messed with trying it out on here since CM9
One guy in here bought the HD dock, and he said a generic controller from Radio Shack worked, but he didn't say about a 360 controller. I know that with the sixaxis app, you can use a PS3 controller, and it's amazing. What's cool about it is that it not only can play games like GTA and Shadowgun, which are designed to take physical keyboard inputs, but it can emulate screen touches. So you can play pretty much any game if you are willing to set up the touch profiles. Modern Combat 3 looks pretty good on my big screen, and game play is smooth once you get the controls you want.
I dropped the $50 on a PS3 controller just because I wanted to use it on my phone, I don't even own a PS3.

I have heard the Wiimote (Nintendo Wii remote) works as well. The common denominator here, with the PS3 Sixaxis controller, is Bluetooth, which our phones support (pretty much all of them do). The Xbox 360 controller uses another kind of wireless, or USB as a peripheral, and phone support for that (without the dock) is far less. I'm considering getting a PS3 controller as well. Screen controls are okay for some emulated games. I beat Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA) on my phone, but I tried a couple Mario games and it was laughably bad.
(Running an Electrify, BTW... should be the same minus 4G.)
Which?
Particularly, which allows you to use sixaxis for ps3 controller, and which also allows you to hide the on screen controller buttons when doing so? Thanks!

Hi guys. Is there a way to set up multiple keys to function when I hit one (hw) button in epsxe? for example if I set the directions to "w a s d" it would be really helpful when I hit "e" and it moves up and right. I know fpse can do it, but it started crashing with latest updates, and I find this alternative app since. Would be great, please if you know how to do it,pm me

It would be hard to tell (honnestly, even if I manage Fpse official forum ^^).
In my opinion, it depends on what you're expecting from the emulator:
Fpse=> more options (for video, audio, controlers), more things you can tweak to get your perfect "graphic/speed balance" for each game, in the whole better graphic....and more updates (which can be seen as a bad or a good point, depending on how geek you are but a proof that the devs tries to fix every single bug )
Epsxe=> Easy to set up, no waste of time, straight to the point: if a game is said to work so it does indeed. But less tweaking possibilities, less good graphic on high end devices. Working great on low/medium end devices
If you want to play quickly, prefer instant-game over trying settings, Epsxe
If you want a lot of options and perfect crispy graphics, even if it requires trying a few settings , Fpse
Schtruck, Fpse's dev., is my friend, and I've been following this project since late 2008 on Windows Mobile then Android, so of course I vote for Fpse
Go with ePSXe bud

Fpse has been supporting bluetooth too for a very long time (actually FpseCE for Windows Mobile was already supporting bluetooth controllers like the MSI BGP100 in early 2009 ).
BTW, Opengl 2.0 plugin for Fpse is on the way (there are already 3 different rendering possibilities: software, OpenGL ES blitting and OpenGL 1.1 plugin). As far as graphics are concerned, Fpse has always had (and so will keep having) an advantage over epsxe
Does anyone know if FPse or ePSXe have native ps3 controller support? (I have a transformer infinity and I would like to just use the USB port on the dock and play games.)
A year as passed.... ePSXe has grown.
What do you think?

Just try the pirated versions. Then help the developer by buying ePSXe or FPse. This way you are helping yourself and the developer

Hi,
Just picked myself up a 16GB Tablet Z-£315 in the airport in Australia, thanks very much!!
Loving it so far, after returning a Nexus 10 with a dodgy screen.
One big reason for me to keep it stock and not unlock the bootloader and flash AOSP or CM10.1 is the built in dual shock support.
Well I've just purchased a Dualshock 3 controller and paired it up and I've got to say/ask, how crap is this?? I'm seriously disappointed, it seems like none of the games I have work with it:
Delver:can move with left analogue stick, can rotate left and right with UP and DOWN on the right stick, can't attack.
Minecraft: Doesn't work.
Pixel Dungeon: Doesn't work.
Bridge Constructor: Doesn't work.
Lode Runner: Doesn't work.
Etc...
Particularly disappointed with Minecraft-on Nexus 10 framerate was like crap-works perfectly on Tablet Z but the onscreen controls just kill my RSI riddled hands and forearms, this version of the game would be so f&&king sweet with a PS3 controller on this screen.
Is there any knack to getting the controller to work? Does the rooted Sixaxis app work better than the 'built in dualshock' support? Do any games at all work with PS3 controller?
Thanks.
I was a little disappointed that more games didn't work with the controller natively myself, these are the games that I've tested that do work though: GTA vice city, dead trigger, shadowgun, and snesoid for SNES emulation. If anyone else has been using the controller successfully feel free to share

I've only used Shadowgun which was pretty good with a controller. If you look further down the list, he didn't link to Temple Run and also there was a Sony site linked that was a store of supported controller games.
I've purchased Another World and already own GTA 3, both work a treat with PS3 controller. Just a shame that Minecraft doesn't work!! Dammit
I think for now only game available on Playstation Mobile app (or Playnow) are compatible with DS3.
I don't know if the offer is still valable on Xperia Privilege app with 25euro gift, if yes use it to buy from PS Store.
Mega Blast work wirelessly.

I use it for SNES emulators. Just had to map the buttons once, and it works flawlessly.
More Play store apps need to support controllers though, definitely.

What SNES emulator do you prefer?
I use snesoid but that's just because its what I've always used. It gets the job done and have never had a reason to check out any other emulators.
Such a shame they switched the upper left row of buttons with the lower right one, GTA 3 is kind of hard to play in this way. I'm using an SGP321 on .253 though so maybe it's fixed in .307?
