Can't find this anywhere: Apps have updates but they say 'installing' then 'queued' then 'downloading' then it stops not having downloaded anything. I tried several apps. The Amazon app itself is updated.
Thanks!

Do you have an SD card inserted? If not I believe that is the problem.
Same problem here...have sd card installed and my nook is rooted. Just started happening....???? I also get a message about trying to download from amazon cloud, which I haven't gotten before....coincidence?
Check your micro-SDCard and make sure that it is not full or close to becoming full. This happened to me on my Nook Tablet and it brough about lots of frustration. I went ahead and restored to B&N Stock & rerooted (twice) only to find out that it was because my SD Card was extremely close to being full. I pulled it out, swapped in another one, and presto.
I verified this problem more than once and hopefully you'll be able to resolve this by freeing up some space or just backing up everything on your SDCard to your computer, formatting and giving it a shot once more.
My SD card is 52% full . . . ? I'm assuming that is still enough space?
52% should be enough. Can you try with another microSD card and see what happens? Thanks, keep us posted.

I just started having the same problem. I have Amazon Appstore version release-2.2.0. I tried to uninstall and re-install the Appstore (same version replaced) and no good. Tried to clear cache and re-install... no good.
I started looking at the sd card and cannot find where Amazon keeps the data. Could it be in the main memory?
So... I checked the card (no problems) and tried to re-install an old app. This is what happens:
Downloads fine then stalls during the install. When I go to the App's page, it says "retrieving your app from the cloud."
What else can I do short of wiping and re-rooting?
I have a NT 1.4.0 unrooted with sideloading available. I just launched the Amazon App Store and it was version 2.1.0. I updated it to 2.2.0 with no problem, and then for grins checked for updates for some apps. I successfully updated them.
I also have a N2A installaction (please don't judge me). It had 2.2.0 and an update to an app worked just fine.
Not sure what's going on for others.
re-mount SD card worked for me
I've had the same issue with Amazon apps (downloading and updating). I unmounted and re-mounted the SD card (pop it out and back in) and that fixed the issue. Good luck!
I've never been able to install apps from the Amazon app store for some reason. They'll download, but I can't seem to install them.

I tried that but didn't have any luck. I DID find out where Amazon stores the APK files. It's at:
sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache.
Unfortunately, I couldn't load them from there (using ES File Explorer). I had to email to my self and run them from the Download area. This brought up the "Install App/Install Package" dialogue box. I installed Package and it worked. A lot of steps, but it works.
Unfortunately, i STILL don't know why Amazon can't install the files after downloading them... weird.

Oh, never mind. Just figured out that the app in question (bejeweled) isn't compatible. Other apps install just fine.

I seem to have gotten this infamous Market problem on my phone.
Every time I try to install or update an app, I'm met with this problem.
I've deleted the Market data, unmounted and remounted the SD card, deleted updates to the Market, restarted the device and I still get the same problem, even though I have enough space on my device.
I also would rather have an option that doesn't involve me factory resetting my phone.
Can anyone help? I'm on Froyo right now, if that helps.
I'm also using the new market (3.0.27), but it happens regardless.

Yeah, all the ones I can move to SD I have done.
Though, I still have space on the SD card too.
Had the same problem with Star Chart app.
After I cleaned > 100M from internal memory, I still was not able to install this app from the Market. Ended up downloading apk from the internet (I'd already paid for it) and installing it manually. So it seems like a problem with the Market..
There was a fix program, even on market. I think it was called market Fix. It basicaly puts market cache folder to sd card and links to it. Thats it.
does anyone know where store books with the B&N reader now that we can use it with CM7?
It should be in a folder called Nook.
I'm having troubles signing in. It states there is an external error. Anyone have that error besides me?
I'm getting the same error it will not sync at all. I think until they figure out the mounting issues with the internal and external sd cards we are just stuck. Luckily Aldiko will let you search for folders and import books that way too get me by until the issue is resolved.
Oh BN, Why couldn't you have just made a stock 2.3 OS with the Nook app preinstalled. I love their ecosystem. I love the NT design and specs. They'd still have gotten my money for books and mags. It would have been a hackers dream.
Thanks for the Aldiko idea.
If it helps, I was able to install the 'B&N Nook' app ok and signed in with my info earlier. And the app works and I can read the .epub books that I copy to the sd card.

I stored them on the sd card in a folder under 'My Files'.
Edit: They are in the 'My Documents' folder in the 'Nook' folder.
i tried to reinstall nook reader and now I am getting an internal error. O also tried to install alkido or whatever app it was that was suggested. I was not able to install it due to an SD card error
I got it to work. I had to go in and delete the folder that was there from when I tried to install nook reader before CM7. I rebooted and installed the reader again. I moved the books over to the folder that was suggested. SD/nook/mydocuments. I rebooted the NT and was able to pull the books up with no issues. ROCKIN!
I'll try to delete the stock BN leftovers on my SD and reboot. The Nook App must check for NC or NT files and wigs out if they are present.

that must be what it is cause after I did all this, I didn't have any issues. I didn't see any of the other error messages I saw earlier. let me know if that does it for you or if I just got lucky. I wanna know if this fixes this issue or not
Okay, I deleted the "My Files" folder that was left over from the stock ROM. I then uninstalled the Nook app and deleted any files that left over. I then reinstalled the app, signed in, and it worked.
I installed the nook for Android app and logged in fine. Books were in nook folder once downloaded. I have since restored to mod stock until a cm7 zip/bit more polish on the weird app install/restore issues or cM9 is ready.

isup, are you using the sd card CM7? that might have something to do with it. I am using the internal version.
[Q] "Cannot finish download. There is not enough space." Error Message - CM7
So I rooted the Nook a while back with the SD card, but finally decided to put on CM7 using the internal method, since the largest SD card I have is 2GB.
My device is not letting me download anything and I get the error "Cannot finish the download. There is not enough space". Even if I want to download something that is just a few KBs.
I've tried changing the download directory on Dolphin Browser, but it makes me download to the SDCard directory.
Also, when I plug the Nook into my computer via USB, I see "Boot: (H", but I don't see the SD Card, which I believe I used to.
I put the micro-SD card back into the adapter and into my computer, it says I have 69.4 MB of used space, and 0 bytes of free space. This is a 2GB card.
If I try to transfer a file from my laptop to the internal storage via USB, it tells me I do not have enough space as well (even though the file is only 1MB).
I'd really appreciate any help, also it's my understanding that I need to download GAPPS in order to get the google play market working.. correct?
are u in windoze 7 and forgot to run as administrator ?
in file explorer, if you right click on the sd card, what does it say about it ?
I'm on Vista...
I guess I am confused about what you are asking. Here is what the general properties say:
SD: Boot
Filesystem: FAT 32
Used Space: 69.4 MB
Free Space: 0 MB
Capacity: 69.4 MB
( i do not own vista... i'm still running xp . . . lol ) um, it sounds like you have only r/o ( read-only ) privileges to that device.

That seemed very likely, but I was actually able to delete some photos that were on the SD card that I had before, and was able to put another one on there. When I try to load it on the nook, I get the error "The android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.".
I click "Force Close" and it keeps popping up repeatedly. It also shows then whenever I try to download anything.

one of my favorite rules is : 'when in doubt, wipe it out' ! . some try this. . copy all your stuff off the sd and park it temporarily on a hard disk sub-dir. . then use a good utility to refresh the device ( sdformatter ? ). . then try the sd in the android again.
.
um, ( a lite bulb goes on above my head ), you believe you gotta a glitch in the android and your sd card is fine . . . wow, that could be very true.
.
so 'android.process.media' is broken... ugg. . this is where i heard you have to re-flash ( with wiping data and cache ) to fix...

I will try that. Just seems odd it only started happening once I installed CM7.
Might be too simple but when downloads have failed for me with the message you mentioned I have completely powered down my Nook, waited a few minutes, then restarted it. It cleared up the 'not enough space' problem. Doesn't solve your SD card problem, but might resolve your failed downloads.
Got the same message initially....downloading using XP.....you didn't unzip the folder downloaded first so you are trying to download compresses boot.img file (I think that's what happenned, although it sounds counter intuitive). Anyway instead of left clicking directly on downloaded folder to open (which contains only one file...boot.img) unzip the folder first.....right click unzip...save outside of original downloaded folder. Now you have it! Use that file.
Hope I'm recalling this correctly, it was a few days ago! Give it a whirl.

By way if further explanation...I was downloading on my laptop running xp when problem presented...are you downloading to your Nook or to your computer then installing zip on micro sd off of computer? This is unclear to me in your posts.?

My explanation sounds weird and is probably wrong but the method I described works unsigned your computer...compressed/ uncompressed..whatever...it worked!

android memory error
I was receiving this same "low memory" error message on my phone and found a simple and easy app on the market called simply enough "Market Fix". It is free and with the touch of one button, fixed all my market issues. Don't know how it works but it saved me alot of frustration. I don't see why it would work for the nook tablet as well. It's worth a shot before wiping.
re: not enough space error
Saw in development thread that there was a limit placed on number of downloads of CM7 permitted which was met...but developer has resolved that issue. Other people were having trouble downloading the ROM but don't know if this was the error message they got.
Perhaps this was the source of your problem in downloading ROM rather than my explanation above?
CHeck last few pages of CM7 thread where you got instructions and links for installing ROM.
Hope you get it all worked out.

I was getting the same error message. Could not get rid of this error even when I removed a significant portion of my apps. The system info always showed lots of room but the message continued. I think I have blundered on the solution. I have the Nook Tablet which was partitioned and then rooted. Many people have noted that NT comes with Netflix installed and that Google Play continuously wants to updated this app. It seems that if you update Netflix it confuses the system and Netflix is installed on the B&N Partition as well as the portion reserved for other apps. I un-installed Netflix update as well as any apps that come from B&N as well as Google Play so there are not duplicates. Seems to have worked. Worth a try.

Try wiping out dalvik cache either through cwm recovery or titanium backup. I had a similar error while installing apps through sideloading apks and doing the above fixed that problem.

Hi, i got this problem when I enable swap SD to external on my note2.. (Omega V9.1 rom, RedHill V1.0 kernel.). After some search, found that it is because the broswer setting -<Advance>- <Default storage> must change from memory card --> Device (since I had swap ExtSD & SD). With this set, all browser download is running smoothly..

You are aware that this is both a very old thread, and also it's about Nook Tablet ?
I'm sure the problem was solved one way or another, or we would have heard more about it, but FWIW I'm pretty sure that in this case it was caused by CM7 mounting the SD card as internal storage, and all that was needed was restoring the card to it's full capacity (or inserting another card). Like LaveroBurgos suggests.
Running the newest version of beans since the day after it came out. Has been really stable. Until yesterday. The only thing I did yesterday was I downloaded a couple weather apps.
It's pretty easy to trigger. I can trigger it by going into my gmail app and it won't let me read anything because it closes Gmail. I have done it by going into the phone settings screen. It happens in the play store and I also can't download any apps.
I've tried clearing cache/data and force stopping both Media Storage and Download Manager. I have 2.78GB left on internal storage and 5.4 or so on external 16gb sdcard. On the internal the largest directories are Titanium Backup at 1.91GB, airdroid at 1.19 gb (its the beans rom file), Android at 0.98 GB, and DCIM at 145MB. On external the largest are DCIM at 5.00 GB (music folder at 4.7GB), TWRP at 4.36GB (a full system backup), and then Download at 33.03MB.
My first and probably smartest step is to full wipe, reflash, but I really wanted to avoid that. Just wondering if there are any other suggestions.

I tried a cache, delvik, factory reset, and system reset from recovery. Reinstalled alliance/beans, and right from the get go got an error saying "system uids inconsistent" when I booted for the first time, followed by a series of "such and such has stopped working" like gapps and the same error above. As a result I cant use the play store to download my apps either.
I rebooted into recovery and tried to fix the permissions which then failed with this at the end "E: Unable to chmod data/data/com.google.android"
Now im really not sure what to do
One more thing: I wondered if maybe it was my SD card so i unmounted that and removed it. That hasn't done anything.
Also, rebooting takes much longer than usual.
I just upgraded to a SanDisk 32gb from my old 8gb and now i am missing a lot of my apps. They show in the app drawer, but when i try to open them i get the error that the app is not installed.
Here is what i did, hoping i could save everything.
1. I removed my 8gb card and copied everything to my pc.
2. Then i inserted the new card and copied all the old files to it.
3. I inserted the new sd card into my s5 with the power off on the device.
4. Booted the phone, and the apps show in the drawer, but upon opening the apps i get the message that the app is not installed.
Any help?
Ps> sorry guys that i haven't been around much this month. I had to fire 4 employees of mine over a two week span and pick up their work.
I will try to be more active, for those that missed me. Hehe

You are making an erroneous assumption that a file by file copy would save you from having to reinstall apps. An sector by sector image would have been a better approach. One of the descrepancies between the old card and new is apparently leading the OS to conclude that the installed app files are no longer available.
It might be tied to a volume serial number or erroneous path, etc. But my guess would be that you missed copying a hidden system directory. In any event, try again or reinstall the apps.
.
Thanks for the response @fffft , i already formatted the old sd card and gave it to a buddy that has an s4 and had memory issues, with his kids installing every game they can find. Lol. I see a hidden folder that contains about 1.86 gb of data that looks like the files that i am missing, it seems that it was just copied to a different place on the new sd card, im trying to place it correctly, but if it doesn't work then i will just reinstall.
Thanks again.
