Same need here.

You guys should try Widget Locker in the mean time. Its got an ics lockscreen that works flawlessly
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App

I'd like a way to remove this as well. I've been reading posts saying "it just goes away" but mine hasn't and I've been on this ICS build since its release on Feb. 9.
Anyone got any suggestions OTHER than using an app like Widget Locker?

Well. OK, but only for who doesn't frigthen himself to use a hex editor and has root, cwm, and so on...
If you have a modified rom or you're about to load one in your phone, you can also do this mod directly in the zip file of the rom.
In every case, in the folder system/framework you can find the file framework-res.apk. Copy it on your desktop, change its extension to .zip (you know it) and open it. In it you'll find the file resources.arsc. Well, open it in a hex editor and "search" the phrase "Swipe to unlock" in your idiom. Change the very first byte of the phrase to hex "00" and eventually all the others to "FF". Save, close, revert the extension to the original ".apk" and copy the modified file over the original. Reboot and voilà, your lock screen is now clean...
I hope my english was enough correct and clear to be understood...

Thank's a lot vanallen !
That works !!

I tried your method on Galaxy Ace 2 (2.3.6) and it works, but there's a strange effect: if I hold lock button, phone immediately starts to shut down, while, before this trick, a menù with several options appeared (Data Connection, SIlent Mode, Shut Down and others)... is this normal? or I did something wrong?

For stock roms i'm sure there's an option to not show help text on the lockscreen if you go to Display then untick the box

I'm unable to find that option... (translating from Italian)
"Display menu":
-Display (other sub-menus to change: font style, main wallpaper, lockscreen wallpaper, clock position)
-Brightness
-Automatic Rotation
-Animations
-Screen timeout
-Softkeys light timeout
But there's another menu (sorry for traslation again):
"Security and Position menu":
-User's position (other submenus)
-Sim Block
-Find personal devices (submenus: warn on sim change, messagge recipients, remote controls)
-Visible Passwords
-Device Administrator
-Show credentials (other submenus)
-Lockscreen settings with two submenus:
a) Debug mode toggle
b) Set Lockscreen with these choices: None, Pattern, Pin, Password
Pattern, Pin and Password are easy to understand... but "None" does not disable Swipe to unlock, it simply means "not pattern, not pin, not password"... if I select "none", I have always to swipe after pressing power button or home button...
What's the matter?

One word: CAUTION: If you want to back up your framework-res.apk, DO NOT RENAME IT, it will get you soft-bricked!
COPY the file to a safe location, never rename the original file since the framework is used while the system runs!
I must admit that I just made the mistake and had to restore from a backup.

Thanks ezzkht, but how do I create the shortcut?
Try to copy any shortcut from \windows\start menu\programs\
and paste it to the location you want, rename it & edit it using Total Commander (right-click on it & choose Properties, then go to Shortcut tab and change the TARGET parameter to "ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,1" without quotes.
The icon will automatically change to the password icon

Sorry ezzkht, I did exactly what you said but it did not work. Tried with and without quotes, tried 0 instead of 1 but the icon never changes to the password icon just an executable icon but nothing happens when I click on it.
OH yes you are right!! sorry!
Ok here's the shortcut, I just get it from my device..
I opened it with a HEX editor & found the following line inside it:
51#ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,1?\Windows\cplmain.cpl,-6000
plz tell me if it worked with you
Hi ezzkht, I tried but this also does not seem to work.
I checked the registery and their is a mention of a Password.cpl in the Windows directory which is not in mine. I installed logologin and picturepassword and have recently removed them, don't know if they might have also removed this file. It may be the the problem, do you have this file.
Neither me, I don't have password.cpl file in \windows directory!!
I have cplmain.cpl only!
I noticed that the password link points to cplmain.cpl with a parameter of : password.cpl
I guess that cplmain.cpl is a composite file which contains alot of programs, one of them is the password program!
Do u have the cplmain.cpl in windows directory??

CHomeConfigurati - Problem show icon on custom panel in portrait mode

Problem show icon on custom panel in portrait mode
First excuse me for may little english.
I have create a panel to dial contact with chomeconfigurator, in portrait mode icon for panel is not show, if I turn in landscape mode the icon are show correctly.
Anyone have solved this problem?
Thanks to all.
I had the same problem with HTC home panel, if you change you screen to Windows sliding panel, everything should be OK. Probably a thing CHome configuration developers should look at.
Partial solution
x Rudat: Thank you, I've found the same solution yesterday, with the standard sliding panel all work fine and it show all icon.
What's the .cpr file associated with HTC Home Panel, I've try to modify the file found in phone (file ends with HTC***240x320.cpr and HTC****320x240.cpr) but nothing changed on my phone, I'va also edit .xml file to create custom panel but nothing it's happened...
An other question, where is the file .cpr used to show panel, I'm not be able to find it in my phone...
Thank to all
Custom Partial Fix for Sliding Panel Icons in Porrtrait Mode
I have a partial fix that you can try. It is based on the HTCSlidePanel_US.xml. After extracting the 3 files, copy HTCSlidingPanel_Rev12.home.xml to your device \Application Data\Home. Then make a backup copy your device's SlidingPanel_240x320.cpr and SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr. Then copy the two extracted files: SlidingPanel_240x320.cpr and SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr to your windows directory on your device. This will OVERWRITE your orginal files so make a backup BEFORE you do this incase you want to go back.
It is not exactly the way I like it but it is better than the HTC Green. Enjoy.
Problem
In my phone (rom origina in italian no brand) I'm not able to find SlidingPanel_240x320.cpr and the SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr, where I'll find it?
Those files are hidden - use a file explorer and change the file display settings to show all hidden and system files. You should find it in the device windows directory.
Thanks
I've found the files and now I'm trying to customize the home panel, thanks to all...
I seem to be unable to replace SlidingPanel_240x320.cpr and the SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr files with their new versions - i am being told it is either locked or I do not have rights to change or edit the folder... can anyone hint me how to do that? Thanks

Never mind, Total Commander http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/download-total-commander-v2-5.html helped...
Customize HTC Home Sliding Panel
Fix - Show Icon and Formatation in Portait mode
Somehow the Problem was the GUID of the Panels.
To Change that permanently follow my instructions:
1.) Use CHomeConfigurator
Create the Panel (e.g. called "GamePanel1") just the way you want to have it
Close CHomeConfigurator.
Check if it works in Landscape Mode the way it should.
2.) Use Total Commander
Goto \\\registry\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\
Copy and rename CWelcomeCenter folder (e.g. "GamePanel2")
Delete all the pages in \\\registry\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\GamePanel2
Copy the new Pages you made in GamePanel1 to GamePanel2 (Use [Strg]+[c] and [Strg]+[v])
3.) Customize properties of GamePanel2 just like the once in GamePanel1 with Total Comander
\\\registry\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\GamePanel2
CONDENSEDTITLE
ICONPATHS
LocName
Pages
4.)Open CHomeConfigurator again
As you can see GamePanel2 allows no changes!!!!! Just like CWelcomeCenter.
Hide GamePanel1 (or delete)
Show GamePanel2 (You might have to enable GamePanel too if it is written in red)
Exit CHomeConfigurator and Confirm: Save Changes!!!!
Done!!!
You can do that multiple times for more Panels using a copy of CWelcomeCenter (resp. its GUID)
Great fix, it works!

[Requests/Collection/Tool] Sense 3.0 Lock Rings [Lock Ring Kit] - Update 10/18/11

My laptop was stolen recently so I won't be able to help anyone out until I can get a new one. Thanks for stopping by though.
This is no longer a tutorial, just a simple user friendly Lock Ring Kit.
Please download the updated kit at the bottom of this post.
I will also take requests here for anyone who doesn't want to mess with it.
Since people are still rocking 2.3.3 ROMs, please specify if your ROM is 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 when making a request. There are subtle differences.
Also you have a few rosies to choose from, let me know which one you want. If you don't request something specific, I'll just make the default rosie. Rosie choices attached at the bottom of this post. If you would like a rosie I don't have here, let me know and I'll see what I can do to add it to the kit. Also, I've played around a little with themes enough to feel comfortable to help out wherever I can. So if you have a request that is not related to my kit, I still may be able to help you out.
All 2.3.3 requests I've done are posted on Post# 3 and Post# 4
2.3.4 version requests are posted on Post# 125 and Post# 126

First of all, this is intented for Deodexed ROMs on the EVO 3D. Other qHD devices may work as well but I cannot guarantee. For devices such as the EVO 4G (WVGA), use one of the tutorials below . While these mods have been working flawless on several ROMs, there is the occasional error. Just to be safe MAKE A NANDROID to go back to if something goes wrong. If you don't read up and just flash something, lock ring mods or any other, and something should screw up, you can't be mad at anyone but yourself if you've got nothing to go back to.
With this method, your ring will only show up on the default skin or the HTC supplied skins, Burgundy and BlueSky. Every custom skin has its own lock ring which overwrites the default. If you have a custom skin installed and would like a custom lock ring, go to my second post for a mini tutorial on editing custom skins.

I originally learned how to make these from this thread: [Tutorial] Sense 3.0 Custom Lock Ring Kit so big thanks to jmaher1023 for that.

2. Pick your image and resize it to 271x270. For the image to show up correctly you have to rotate it 180 degrees and mirror it. Your image must be saved as a .png
3. Save your edited image as LockRing.png and move it to the root of your Lock Ring Kit
4. Run the batch file for the Rosie you want (look in "Rosie Screenshots" folder to decide)
5. A flashble zip file will be created at the root of your Lock Ring Kit. Rename it, sign it if you want, move it to your SD Card and flash in recovery

*Not that anyone actually reads the entire first post, but just for your information, making Lock Rings for GSM and Sense 3.5 is not possible yet. As of right now m10 tools is unable to decompile these m10 files. Until we get a m10 tools update for these we have no way to edit.
The above comment was really nothing more than a speculation. I went ahead and asked the devs of the m10 tools if they could confirm what I thought and this was his answer...

This is a quick tutorial for anyone who wants to edit just the lock ring of a custom skin. Honestly it's more to get you playing with M10Editor.exe.
Again, pick your image, resize it to 271x270, rotate 180 degrees, and mirror.
Inside the M10_Tools folder there is M10Editor.exe.
1. Open M10Editor.exe.
2. Click the Load File button and choose the skin.apk you want to edit.
3. Go to the m10 files tab and highlight the only m10 file shown (usually shared.m10)
4. Check the Decode Images check box.
6. Click the Decompile/Show button.
7. Once clicked, you'll be moved to the Editor tab.
8. Expand by clicking the arrow next to shared.m10.
9. Continue to expand until you expand Textures.
10. Scroll through Textures until you see the default (or sometimes modified) lock ring image.
11. Right click the image and choose Show in Explorer.
12. The image will already be highlighted when the explorer opens, copy the name of the highlighted file.
13. Change the name of your image to the one you just copied and drag or copy your image inside to replace it.
14. Close the explorer and go back to the Start tab in M10Editor.exe.
15. Click the Save File button. If you want to change the name of the apk when prompted, go ahead.
16. Sign the apk and install through a file explorer.
Sometimes you have to reboot for the lock ring to show.
Personally when I edit a skin, I also edit my ROMs fusion.apk and Idlescreen_Base.apk in order to remove traces of the default ring. Some ROM creators mod these apks for their ROM. If you know for sure that your ROM does not have a modded fusion.apk and Idlescreen_Base.apk you can simply use my lock ring kit to make your lock ring. If your ROM does have a modded fusion.apk and Idlescreen_Base.apk you should pull those files from the ROM and use M10Editor.exe to edit those files directly. The only m10 files you need to edit are the Default shared.m10 in fusion.apk and Lock_ring_motion.m10 in Idlescreen_Base.apk.

First of all, this is intented for Deodexed ROMs only. Also, with this method, your ring will only show up on the default skin.
If you want to, watch the video tutorial to get an idea of what to do.
DO NOT download the Lock Ring Kit attached in that thread, because the files included are not for qHD.
I've included a modified Lock Ring Kit for E3D here: E3D_Lock_Ring_Kit.zip
The E3D Lock Ring Kit and tutorial are about the same as jmaher1023's tutorial, but I changed the process and folder organization a little to hopefully simplify things.
Also, you should stop by this thread [DEV-TOOLS] [MODE10] Mode10Tools now released ! and give thanks to Flemmard and Diamondback2010, the devs of the m10 tools that make all this possible.
If you don't already have one, download an archiver like 7zip or WinRAR. I use 7zip.
To keep things simple, unzip the attached E3D_Lock_Ring_Kit.zip to your C drive (C:\Lock_Ring_Kit)
Inside the Lock_Ring_Kit you will see 3 folders (Copy Contents to Working, M10_Tools, Working), a zip file (Base_Lock_Ring.zip), and a doc file (Names & Commands.doc).
Now pick your image and resize it to 271x270. For the image to show up correctly you have to rotate it 180 degrees and mirror it. Save the edited image to a place of your choosing.
Now your ready to start creating the lock ring.
This is my method, step by step:
1. Open your Lock_Ring_Kit folder and (obviously) copy the contents of the Copy Contents to Working folder to the Working folder.
2. Open your Working folder and copy your edited image to the following folders - BlueSky1,Burgundy1,Default1, and Lock_ring_motion1.
3. Open the Names & Commands.doc and rename your copied images to the PNG Names. After renaming the images, move them into the inner folder and replace the existing image (eg. move the BlueSky png into BlueSky1\shared).
4. Open command prompt and change directory to C:\Lock_Ring_Kit\M10_Tools.
5. Go back to the Names & Commands.doc and copy and paste each of the m10 Commands into comand prompt and hit enter. This will compile new m10 files with your image inside.
6. Now you have to copy the newly compiled m10 files to their correct location within the Base_Lock_Ring.zip. The newly compiled m10 files are
in folders BlueSky(shared.m10), Burgundy(shared.m10), Default(shared.m10), and Lock_ring_motion(Lock_ring_motion.m10).
7. Copy the Base_Lock_Ring.zip to the Desktop or anywhere else you'd like.
7. Use 7zip (or WinRAR) to open Base_Lock_Ring.zip (eg. Right click>7-Zip>Open Archive)
8. Navigate to \system\app\fusion.apk\assests\BlueSky\drawable and drag your newly compiled shared.m10 file inside to replace the existing shared.m10. Do the same for Burgundy and Default. Use the back or folder up button to update the apk. A prompt will come up asking if you want to continue.
9. For Idlescreen_Base.apk, navigate to \assests\scenes\base and drag your newly compiled Lock_ring_motion.m10 inside to replace the existing Lock_ring_motion.m10. Back out to update the apk, and close the archiver.
That should be about it. You can rename the Base_Lock_Ring.zip to whatever you like. I'd say go ahead and sign the zip, but thats up to you. Put the zip on your SD Card, go into recovery and flash.

When doing step 3, if using Vista or Windows 7, make sure to omit the .png extension when renaming your edited image from the word document. You will end up with a .png.png and nothing will have changed.

Not that I've seen so far. But with the files I've provided in the E3D Lock Ring Kit, your only compiling. I've included the decompiled files for you to add your image and compile. Unless your talking about m10 files in general and not specifically the files I've included?

In that case, you can simply delete the .png part in your Names & Commands.doc. I show all file extensions on my computer and I copy and overwrite the whole name, extension and all. If you want to show file extensions to be able to see .png on your image name, go to Folder Options in your explorer, go to the View tab, scroll down and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

Is there a way to edit the rest of the lock screen? Like the bar at the bottom where the lock ring sits on? I see what looks like the png for it in the images in the default, bluesky, and burgandy folders. I tried editing them and compiled them back to shared.m10 and ten flashing the zip but it didn't work. I was able to edit the background of the clock on the home screen this way and it worked but again I was unable to get the same result for the stuff at the bottom (the bar and soft buttons). Is there another place where these are edited or am I doing something wrong?

Not that I've seen so far. But with the files I've provided in the E3D Lock Ring Kit, your only compiling. I've included the decompiled files for you to add your image and compile. Unless your talking about m10 files in general and not specifically the files I've included?

If u have 14 toggle in ur notifications bar, try swiping to the right and hit lock icon... Might have bumped it by accident ;-)

I figured out my problem! Appears that when I was creating the keystr file, I added the extension .txt ...
So here is the solution that have been posted on other threads
i actually figured out a way to restore my lock screen back.
Note: This involves messing with the efs folder. So do this at you own risk
also, your phone must be rooted in order to do this.
Tools Needed:
1. Hex Editor
2. Root Explorer
Steps to restore:'
1. Using root explorer locate the /efs/imei/ folder. In that folder there should be a file called keystr. In my case the file was missing which is why the lock screen was missing and was causing my problems.
2. using root explorer create a new file called keystr
3. also in root explorer open the file keystr in text editor and type ON
4. now go into hex editor and locate the /efs/imei/keystr file.
5. using hex editor the first two values in green should be 4f and 4e. all others should be 00.
6. make sure you save the file.
7. reboot.

Here you guys are! this is the only method that works, i tried everything, do this and reboot your phone a couple times, make sure the file stays there and enjoy your lockscreen!

Need some help to change some things on lockscreen

Hello, I just rooted my phone and I have CyanogenMod ROM on it and Apex Launcher right now. I want to change some things on my lockscreen but I don't know how to do that.
Here is my look screen right now: http://i.imgur.com/5CrbU.png
I want to take away the LV TELE 2| Tele2 thing on the bottom and then change the clock and date text, because it looks ugly in my opinion. Is there a way I could change that?
And also the circle above the Tele 2 text, can I change that? If so, how?
And also when i type an SMS, it vibrates when I type one letter, how can I remove that? I have tried to untick vibrate in settings but it doesnt work :S
Thanks in advance!

You wont get anybody helping you unless you post your topics in correct sections.
This is a development area, not n00b help desk.
[edit: topic moved now]
Yeah, this is really the wrong section.
Read the rules again and everything's fine.
So, for deleting carrier name, just google, there's a tutorial.
Is changing the font enough?
Then just replace the fonts at /system/fonts. (You can find the correct one by the name.)
And the circle. Decompile your framework-res.apk and look for the graphics at the hdpi folder.
If you don't know, how to do this, google. It's easy, if you know how to do.

That's the only thing I found on Google, but that's only changing the carrier name.
Where can I download fonts?
I can't find the folder /system on my sdcard.
What should I google about the circle? Like "How to delete circle on apex launcher lockscreen"?
Thanks!

If this apps works for you, you can use it to set the carrier name to ' '?
You can find some nice fonts here. http://www.dafont.com, http://www.1001freefonts.com/
Or if you want to use fonts, which are already on your computer, they're located at: C:\Windows\Fonts
So, to change them.
The folder /system isn't on you sd. It's on your phone.
You can view this folder, if you download any root explorer app from the market.
Then you can find the /fonts folder and replace some fonts.
For example there's the font 'DroidSans.ttf', rename the font to 'DroidSans.bak' and then copy some downloaded font into this folder. Then change the name from (for example) Arial.ttf to DroidSans.ttf.
Reboot your device, and it's ready.
There's a app, which is easier, but with this method, you know, what you're doing, and you learn something.
But, just in case, the name of the app is 'Font Changer', you can find it in the Play Store.
The circle on the lockscreen..
To change it, you have to copy you framework-res.apk, which is located at /system/framework to your sd and then to your computer. (Or you upload it to dropbox or someting else, just bring it to your computer. xD)
Then rename it to 'framework-res.zip', after this you can open it by winrar or 7zip.
Go to the hdpi folder in res and search the image of the circle.
Then delete it, and put your own image (it should have the same dimensions) into the archive. But important! Don't select 'normal compression' or anything else, just 'save'!
If you have this done, change the file extension again to '.apk' and put it to your sd.
Then, copy it with any file manager, and paste it into /system/framework.
This can brick you device, so create a cwm backup before!
It worked succesfully for me with 'ES File Manager/Explorer', but only with the method, where the dialog 'Replace?' appears. So don't first delete the framework-res.apk
Okay, and for vibration.
Go to settings, keyboard, keyboard settings, and uncheck vibration. That's it.
Now my hands hurt.^^

I have no clue what font I should use but I'll see which one I will download because there are so many
I don't think I will change the circle on the lockscreen because It seemed hard and I'm to "noob" to do that and I don't wanna brick it. But I'll save that information If I wanna do it later.
If I go to settings, I can't see anything saying keyboard or keyboard settings.( But It doesn't vibrate anymore when I write messages on facebook) kinda weird :S
Got 3 other questions xD maybe off-topic but hope you can answer them
1. I recently rooted my phone and put on CyanogenMod 9 and now I have Apex Launcher Pro on it. But I can't find my contacts or where I add contacts so I can save my friends phone number. Do I have to download an app for this?
2. When I'm on my lockscreen and wanna unlock it, I drag it and it unlocks. But It vibrates when I drag it, is there a way to delete this vibrating?
3. I've used Swiftkey 3 keyboard but I don't like it so I want a new one. I loved the keyboard I had before I rooted on ICS verision 4.0.3. Is there a way to get that keyboard now in root? If not, do you have suggestions for me which keyboard I should download? I don't want one that they correct the words I write, only a simpel and easy keyboard.
Thanks in advance!

Try Ubuntu font, google for it.
No? Or 'input settings'?
There's no contacts app? Maybe it's just hidden in apex launcher. Go to apex settings, drawer settings. And check the hidden apps. Or look in the apps section in the normal settings, if contacts/people app exist?
Hmm, in miui, there's an option for the vibrating. But as far as I know, in cm not. But you can google for it, maybe there's a mod or control panel, which includes this.
Yes, I hate auto correction too. It's very bad if you write in different languages..
In the settings of swiftkey, you should be able to disable the auto correction. You can access the settings directly via the keyboard. There's a key for this.
But I prefer the stock ics keyboard. (Play store: ics keyboard) It's very simple and you can disable auto correction and vibration too.
I hope, I helped.

For renaming, you don't have to open the file.
Just press long at the file, and there should be a popup, with options like 'rename', 'copy', 'cut', 'open', 'properties' etc.
If there's no option to rename it, use another file manager, like 'es file manager' or 'root explorer'.

Of course, mate.
If you're using es, go to settings, scroll down and enable 'root-explorer' and 'mount file system'.
Then there should be a popup of superuser, just accept it.
After replacing the fonts, remember to set the correct permissions, too.

Worked I think, did everything you wrote before in this thread. But the font didn't change on the lockscreen. Is there another file I should rename or change too in order for it to change font on the clock on the lockscreen?
Ooo alena gilbert...lol
Ok you can edit framework-res.apk for that... and for font in lockscreen i think change font with something like clock in name with one of your choice.. dont remember exact name....

DroidSans.ttf was just an example.
So, I'm not sure, but try Clockopia.ttf.
But a while ago, I used a cm-build, where the lockscreen font was named something like. 'androidclock.ttf'
So just look, maybe you can guess it via the name, which font it is. If not, you can copy them to your pc and click on it, then windows let you view the font. Then you just have to look for these special numbers of the lockscreen clock. And the last way is to use font changer.
