I installed MX Launcher on my photon. I want to go back to the default theme but I can't stop MX launcher.
When I go to menu-stop mx launcher my phone locks up and I have to take the battery out to reboot.
Can someone please help me get the phone back to default.
Have you tried going to the Application settings and clearing the data associated with the app?
Thanks, that did it.

You need to uninstall mx launcher and then you'll automatically go back to the stock launcher.

one more option just download a app from market call moto home fix it will more usefull to select ur launchers
Related
I downloaded a launcher from an APK and my atrix's original launcher dissapeared.
what can i do.
thanks!
go to the market and grab a home launcher switcher like "home switcher for froyo", etc..
use that to switch between original launcher (motoblur) and your new one. You can also make one of them your default.
No like it literally isnt in my phone.. if i dont have a downloaded launcher its just a black screen and i cant access anything haha
is the only option a hard reset?
You might be able to get it back by flashing the service SBF of 1.83... it doesn't wipe the user data.

This happened to me when I first got my atrix and installed launcher pro. Not sure how to fix it as I rooted and installed gingerblur anyway which removes the default blur launcher and uses the default gingerbread style launcher
My phone cones default with above launcher. I just changed to go launcher ex and wanted to remove tw . My phone is roots. Can someone guide me on the removal? I tried holding onto the icon but the "x" does not appear. Thanks

you can download root uninstaller from market and find the twlauncher, and remove it
i wouldnt do it tho, in case your go launcher fails you will lack a launcher to do stuff
you can also delete the tw launcher using root explorer.just navigate to system/app
But as you have been warned delete TW launcher and not replace it phone cannot load .

As JJE has pointed out, removing TW is fraught with danger.
If you really don't like it the best thing to do is install a launcher you do like then freeze the stock launcher in Ti or similar. This way your launcher of choice will be the default. Also bear in mind you can't completely get rid of TW, it is very much baked into your rom and its services are always running in the background/the launcher you use runs on top of it.
I also use GoEx & have the default Miui launcher frozen in Ti. I don't recommend removing anything to do with the stock launcher.
Go launcher allows you to make it your default launcher when setting it up so there's no need to mess with removing tw.

Or flash a rom that doesn;t use TW - like Illusion - go launcher as standard
I have about three launchers in the system / apps folder and use home switcher to change but only really use TW .

I have already made go launcher ex as default. But once a while when I kick on the centre button, the same prompter will appear asking me to choose btw go launcher and tw launcher. Everyttime I tick the box and make go.launcher the default, the prompter will appear again.
That's why I am thinking of removing it altogether. Or perhaps Bro/sis know how to solve the jnial problem?
Have you changed default through go launcher settings as well? because I'm using it and never have that problem. Maybe try clearing defaults in application management for go launcher too.

OK. Because I'm an all round good guy, I'll repeat this for the 2nd time.
Get Titanium Pro from the Market (or Gemini if you don't want to pay, or several other apps that can freeze apps), and freeze the stock launcher. I have done this in Miui and am using GoEx as my default launcher without having to tick any boxes or without the stock launcher prompting me or appearing out of nowhere.

Currently using the "twilight" theme, with the default music widget for that theme! zero customization done.
Every time I open from the music widget it asks me to pick a music player, even though I only use Google Play music. Any idea how to just make this open up automatically?

Hi,
Just to clarify, you applied the Twilight theme, then went to music player and select Google Play Music as your default music player? Did you do anything else after that, such as restarting your phone or switching to another theme? If so, Themer resets your default player, and you'll have to set it back.
You can also long press on the homescreen - select Themer Settings - App Preferences - Music - Google Play Music.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply! I actually did exactly that way, and haven't rebooted or anything. It just happens every time I click the widget, even though the default is set in the Themer settings.
Even if I switch songs, go back to my homescreen, and go back into the music app I have to choose which again.
Thoughts? Maybe a bug with the widget?

It shouldn't be, have you tried other themes?
you can try some other themes
Pretty much what happens is, I download it at the play store, and open the launcher. It works fine, but when I push the home button, it goes back to the stock launcher. Every time, I try to set a launcher as the default one, my screen just kind of jumps from the bottom up, and nothing happens. For the Google Now launcher, It gives me the prompt to either cancel, or go into settings. After selecting settings, it does the weird jump again. Kind of getting annoyed, since the stock Emui launcher doesn't have an app drawer. I tired it rooted, and unrooted. I do not have busybox installed, so I'm stumped. Is there hidden settings somewhere to change the default home launcher? I can't find it unlike the previous version. Maybe someone who has had the same problem as me, can shed some light into this problem. Thank you.
goto settings>apps
then click on 'advanced'.
there you can find default app settings, click on it and select launcher and set your desired launcher as default.
and dont forget to add that launcher in protected apps

Well, I feel the headline is as straight forward as can be, but ill be more specific. I purchased my Lenovo Legion Duel 2. So far I like the phone, but I cant seem to get Nova launcher to stay the default launcher. I manually downloaded the play store on the phone, not sure if I did it properly, I downloaded Nova, made it tho default home but, it doesnt stay. If I swipe up it goes back to zui, if I dont touch my phone for awhile when I go back into it, it reverts back to zui. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

1) try to disable battery optimization for nova launcher (it help me with live wallpapers for example).
2) try to enable auto start for launcher in security app -> auto startup manager (add or enable auto start).
3) try to add all the permission to launcher
reboot at every try
