Best itunes contender for our phones!? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Despite never looking back since binning my iphone (actually it got nicked!) I have missed the use of itunes on my Galaxy, and the ability to download music on the go. What music download/purchase apps are, the best? What's being used and which has the best database of tracks?!
Thanks in advance!

Why download when you can stream?
This opens the gates for things like Spotify and such.
You can try Amazon Mp3 store download from there.
I like TuneTribe here in the UK in the weekends albums 320kbps are priced at £4 in the evenings much cheaper than iTunes and better quality, the top 100 albums.

There are countless apps on the market which use sites like Kontakte to download music.

Countless apps? Any recommendations? Streaming is all good and I do use spotify, thing is I need music when I'm offline too. Maybe I'll give amazon a look...

[Q] What music app are you using?

Since I got my Atrix I have been using the Google Music app. Streaming is nice however today I have asked myself why bother streaming when I have a 32 gig micro sd card sitting in my phone going unused? What music player has the best functionality as well as decent ui? What are my fellow Atrix users using?
(sold my iPad 2 deleted iTunes and I think that's what got me thinking about it)
Poweramp ftw.

I don't use either one but I've heard good things. Winamp is free and PowerAmp has a free trial.

Just bought poweramp! it looks nice . Google Music is my backup since I like to flash a lot. but Poweramp definitely looks nice .
*I did just install winamp on my pc. I am no longer under apple's tyranny!
Winamp is the ****! Been using it since forever!
I've tried doubletwist, but right now I am actually trying out Google Music and I kinda like it as a normal music player. It doesn't seem to respond to my bluetooth headphones right off the bat, but once I play something, it works. One thing it does that the ones I've tried so far is that it groups my "various artists" albums into one entry instead of one entry per artist. Doubletwist had them spread out, but if I selected one of the entries, it showed me all the songs on that album.
I also used titanium backup to freeze the built-in music player.
I love Google music. I sync my songs and we are all good in the cloud.

I also like Sirius xm for paid streaming.

may I ask what you guys like about player pro?
I like player pro because of the UI and the features. It's truly beautiful. It does an excellent job with artist and album artwork. The buttons are also bigger than on Power Amp, making it easier to control when on an elliptical or treadmill.
PlayerPro wins hands down for me. Also, download the DSP pack.
I used winamp... really whips the lama's ass

Music Player

Just trying to get an idea, what music player is everyone using? Currently I'm using Google Music but I have a new pair of headphones coming in the mail in a few days and want to get the best out of them. Share your thoughts!

Google music for the sync ability.

I also use DSP Manager
EDIT: The dropbox link from the thread I got it from is invalid now. I'll link a download to mine. Place it in /system, set permissions (644), then place in /system/app. A reboot may be required for it to appear in your app drawer.

I also use DSP Manager which has several nice tweaks. It's what you're looking for if you want to get the most out of your headphones. You should definitely check that out.

Personally, I'm using PlayerPro with its DSP Pack add-on for 10 band EQ. And if I happen to be on CM7, I add a little slight bass boost.

Hi there. Let me chime in as well. I am using PlayerPro (paid) and I prefer it due to the interface and skin layout. I tried ProAmp and a bunch of others and they are not my cup of tea. I personally don't like google music interface. I also see not much sense in storing my music in the cloud where I can't access it when I am in the air. I am in the process of getting myself a 64GB sdxc and that will hold everything that I currently have on my Zune. As a side, I wish there were an app that lets you use the GS2 with my zune pass subscription, which lets you store your downloaded music subscription etc to your zune player. Currently you can't play this content on the GS2. I am using Klipsch S4 and they are excellent, and for air travel I may switch them on occasion with my audio-technica noise cancelling ear buds.

The EQ app? Just "Equalizer" from the market. I use it since G-Music sounds flat out of the box.

I think PlayerPro has the best interface/sound combo with PowerAmp a close second. I've paid for both.
PlayerPro is the easiest/most intuitive of any player I've tried. The ability to pick the artist photos is a huge plus in my book.
Also, I own those Klipsch S4 earbuds. They sound great!

Best music streaming app? In your opinion

Currently using 8tracks, which is good, but I am wondering if there is better?
I hear the following are also good: Pandora, Slacker, Jango, Spotify, Last.fm
I dont know about going through every music streaming app right now so I'm just seeing what people prefer and why!
Try WE7, it's free and it's brilliant.

Best Music App
Well I centarnly think that ZPlayer is the best music app.
I like grooveahark, but I'm using paid version. I think there is free one bit its probably very limited. I had all my music setup on it through the website so it was easier to go with their app rather than setup my library on another service.

I also think that ZPlayer is one of the best and it looks very nice.

[Q] Music Player?

Hey so what are the best/most common music players? Also, is there a way to flash the stock Jellybean music player? Im running CM10 but poweramp just expired and i dont want to pay for the full version. Im currently using apollo but it keeps freezing and force closing so im looking for a better music player.
I don't think there is a "stock" Jellybean music player per se. Google's official app is Play Music, which is available in the Play Store. I can't speak much to other offerings. I'm a heavy Spotify user (paid subscription and all that), and I can't remember the last time I actually listened to a music file that was stored on my phone.
Try Holo player or Walkman. They are in the android general apps and games section.

Yeah, I hate to pile on the PowerAmp bandwagon, but I've been using it for over 2 years now with few complaints. In my opinion, it's worth the money.
Poweramp expires?
The trial does.
Oh sure. I was getting worried I was going to have to pay again!

What? No. Pay once for life.
It is totally worth it though.
Sony Walkman can be flashed with pimp my rom.
I also like zimly, it's free too.

+1 for Poweramp. It's $4; less than the price of a decent burger and a third of the price of a movie ticket. Well worth it.
I have been looking since I first got a phone for a music player in which I can set up the library the way I want.
That would be like this: first, I select a genre (Classical, Joshua Bell, Русские песни (Russian songs), Chansons françaises (French songs), or Other.
If I select Classical, I can choose to go to composers and then to albums, to artists and then to albums, or directly to albums.
If I select Joshua Bell, I can choose to go to composers and then to albums or directly to albums.
If I select Русские песни or Chansons françaises, it will go to artists and then to albums.
If I select Other, it will go directly to a list of albums.
So far, I have always just used folder players, but I will thank immensely anyone who finds a player that I can set up like this, that can also play flac files and is generally usable.
(Really - I will thank all of the posts you've made, or at least all that I can thank in 15 minutes of uninterrupted thanking).

Music app

Just wondering what people use for a good stock music app as I don't seem to like the Walkman one has all this rubbish about music unlimited what annoys me just want a basic music app. Can I use an apk. Music app from different phone I presume answer is no but still.

Oh, i also like Play Music, but i have years of playlists on Spotify, so i can't leave it. Also, All Access isn't available in Norway yet. The player itself is pretty good though, and i have quite a few albums uploaded on their servers, so that's nice to have.

great interface, pretty intelligent suggestions, excellent quality (320 kbs if bandwidth sufficient), good on resources and smooth playback.
