Does anyone have the stock bluetooth.apk for the EVO 3D GSM (ROGERS).
I have been playing around pretty heavily and I may have accidentally deleted the backup of my stock ROM.
I am having trouble on every ROM I try out with bluetooth. It cuts out, or it doesn't work at all.
The only reason I think I need the stock apk is that when I turn the bluetooth on and off, it works fine again... for about 5 minutes. I have tried multiple kernals and roms, but none work.
I am going to try a senseless rom, as I have heard that sense may cause HTC bluetooth quality to be degraded. Until then, though, I was hoping someone could give me a link to the stock bluetooth.apk.
Thanks!
My rom is a Rogers rom and senseless, bluetooth is working fine for me. Try it or if I have time later ill extract my application from it

I actually just flashed with your rom right now! I am going to test on my way home and I will let you know if it worked.
Another thing to note that was strange was that it doesn't work at all with Beats enabled. With beats off, it works for about 5 minutes.
Maybe buffering on the phone? An original HTC design flaw? Faulty hardware?

Seems beats causes more issues than its worth, I may remove it on both my roms, to be honest I don't notice a huge difference in sound quality anyway

So... home now, and it played perfectly through the whole ride.
Beats wasn't turned on, nor was I using the stock music player. I used PlayerPro.
I have replicated this scenario before on roms with Sense and it didn't work, including GingerDex V2.0. I really have a feeling it is something to do with Sense, or something HTC.
I really wish I still had my Stock ROM... I never used Stereo bluetooth on there before I wiped it.
I could make you a stock rooted Rogers rom, that's flashable, the only thing ill do to it is root it
Sent from my GingerDex Evo
That would be absolutely amazing.
Here is something VERY strange. I copied the bluetooth.apk and the BrcmBluetoothServices.apk from your nosense rom to the Sense 3.0 Rom that you have and another Sense 3.5 rom that I downloaded and it works without a hitch.
Files are identical though, which makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

I need some help, and I'm trying to figure out if I caused my own problem or not. I've got a rooted Evo3D, 1.4 Eng HBoot, stock ROM. I noticed while at another location and latching on to an Airave that my audio was extremely garbled. In fact, all audio while making a phone call is completely garbled. I chalked it up to maybe just issues in that Airave's setup.
Now, I have one of my own. My Wife's Epic works on it perfectly. When latched on to my Airave, I get that same garbled audio. When I'm not on the Airave, everything is fine. I've tried 2 different ROM's with the same result. I went back to the .530 radio, same result. I reflashed the stock kernel while on the stock build, same result. I'm currently on Android Revolution HD which if I remember correctly has a different kernel built into it. Same thing.
Am I missing anything else here? Is there anything that I may have done while rooting the phone originally that might have caused my problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? I believe the Airave its perfectly fine, as my Wife's phone works with no issue, and a friend has come over with her Evo 4G and it works just fine as well.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer!
EDIT: Figured it out. The one thing I forgot I had done. I had enabled EVRC-B and that apparently doesn't play nice with the Airave. Changed those settings back to stock and all is well.

Wish I would have seen this earlier I could have saved you the troubleshooting. I had the same problem a couple months ago and yep evcr-b doesn't play nice with the airraves. Glad you got it fixed though.

stock unrooted sprint evo 3d, i know some people hate benchmarks. but going from 25 fps in nenamark2 with lots of stuttering to 44+ fps completely smooth does say something. what did they change? plus my standby battery life is insane now, if this has been discussed i apologize. i could not find it
does no one else notice this?
well I'm not running the latest OTA so I have nothing for you.

recommend to have a try. it saves much battery when screen is off
I've been sorta disappointed with the latest OTA actually. I've tried several roms based off it and they all had the same problems: bluetooth audio cuts out, bluetooth song controls lag (like a couple of seconds between the headphone button press and the actual action), slow data that turns itself off when I'm using it, random GUI slowdowns/laggyness and even a random reboot or two (which has never happened to me with ANY other base including ASOP 2.3 and ICS).
I'm running MinkRunny's rom right now, sense 3.5 w/ 3D working. I've never used anything smoother

Odd, if anything I've had the complete opposite experience with my OTA. I'm running the OEM Rooted version of 2.17.651.5 and it's surprisingly faster.
I've tried every popular ROM out there it seems, and each one has this odd bluetooth stutter that I can't seem to figure out.
I loved the MeanROMs of the past, and thats my 'goto' ICS ROM, but meanbean, viper, and damn near every other one I've tried has had it.
I'm currently flashed to the latest radios and firmware, and s-off, but I can't seem to find one that works! I know its not the firmware because I can nandroid restore my ICS rom and get no stutter.
Does anyone have any ideas? My gut seems to tell me that it is an aggressive power saving setting somewhere in one of these ROMs thats built in, but I can't seem to find it.
Here are my specs:
Sprint HTC LTE 4G
TWRP 2.3.1.0
hboot 1.12.1111
radio 1.12.11.0809
Current ROM: Sinister LTE V5awe
Any ideas? Or ROM suggestions? The bluetooth is a dealbreaker because that is my primary method of streaming audio to my car and home stereo.
Thanks!

I'm seeing the same behavior. In fact you see people complaining about this all over. A lot of people want to blame the bluetooth device. Which I'm sure in some cases is true. But I like you can flash the current stock rom and it disappears. The difference being I am on a E4GT. I am with you in that it seems it's something to do with power saving. So the CPU speed is cranked down and suddenly when the stream requires a little more processing power you get a gap as the CPU plays catch up or something along those lines. It's definitely across multiple roms across multiple devices.
I have been playing around with a few sense 4 ROMs. And unfortunately polluting some threads with ranting
I'd like to open a discussion with anyone who might have some ideas to try.
Here's what I have so far.
I'm beta testing viper amaze 1.6.3
1. I have Bluetooth communication between a Bluetooth ear piece, a Motorola stereo headset, and my laptop thru a rocket fish BT USB adapter.
2. All BT devices are seen when searching for devices.
3. It will pair the device and get a confirmation of " pairing successful" on all three devices.
A. No device that I have tried to pair will ask for a pin code. It's automatically pairing!
4. My Laptop sent a message to the screen on my phone to confirm that it was the correct device connected.
5. Bluetoothd isn't stopping after it's started. Only dies after a full reboot.
6. After tampering with some files in system/data/data I got the HTC FM app to turn on. It didn't do much. And wouldn't turn off.
7. I have asked faux to add some files to his kernel. I hope this narrows it down!
So it's close. I would say it's 90% working. It just doesn't complete or latch the connection.
One more thought is that the FM radio app uses the BT radio so that's why FM radio doesn't work either. But spirit FM radio does. It will fail if BT is trying to connect. But when the bt radio is idle it will work.
I have the decompiled FM radio app and I'm currently digging thru the files.
Any ideas?

If someone could decompile the stock FM radio app we could see what is trying to do and why it fails. Or figure out how spirit is accessing the BT radio.

Thank you. I'm going to scour through it to see if I can find whats supposed to turn on and off the bt radio.
Can you decompile the FM radio app from a 3.6 rom too??
I'll compare them and see what I can find.
Just a thought...
I'm fairly new to all this so bare with me on this one... Lol I was thinking about past ROMs and how removing certain bloatware could potentially damage the ROM you were on... Is it possible that the commands missing for Bluetooth to work fully are embedded in a bloatware app??? I don't think it would be a far-fetched idea for T-Mobile/HTC to code things in such a way that one of their apps would have to run in the background in order for Bluetooth to function properly. Kind of a fail-safe to ensure that their bloat stays on the phone...
It's not to far fetched in theory. And yes, some of the bloatware broke things when you removed them, like the stock ticker, because it was looking for something that had been removed.
This however goes a little deeper. The software came from a different device. And most all of the bloatware that is HTC stuff is there.
It has a slightly different file structure on sense 4.0 than the 3.6. Some files have been modified or combined. Our kernel is the same from what I can tell so far.
I'm running faux 26. So these new files are probably not in the kernel.
The biggest change is a file called BcrmBluetoothservices.apk where we used to have a file called BluetoothFtps.apk.
I think this is the first hurdle.
And thank you for your input! I think if enough of us can knock our heads together we can figure this out.

Yea with multiple people brainstorming on the matter... Someone's bound to come up with a solution! Has anyone taken a logcat of a bluetooth running on a Sense 3.6 rom and compared it with the logcat of a Sense 4 rom?
I don't know .but I flashed energy 3.6 and will do a little playing tomorrow..

There's a few stable, at least I consider stable. Just depends on what you can live without.
I'm going to try my hand at porting... I'm shooting for a "Stock" sense 4 rom. no extras. no tweaks. just working and then we can go from there.
Auto pairing
Does anyone know how to stop the phone from automatically enter the pin code for recognized devices.
The devices are trying to pair and its getting an incorrect pin code. I think this might be a step in the right direction....
Bluetooth MAC Address
I just noticed the bluetooth mac address isn't showing up on my phone!

Has to be turned on... DUH!

I recently installed BlackBean 8 for my HTC Evo 4G LTE. I used Flash Image GUI to flash the Kernel in-rom, then went to recovery, wiped everything 3 times, then installed the rom and Inverted GAPPS. Everything on the rom seems to work perfectly EXCEPT the fact that ANY sound played from the phone plays through the speaker, even when my headphones are plugged in. When I plug them in, I don't even see a headset icon. I reflashed the rom clean again and still the same thing. This doesn't seem to be a common issue, so is anyone else experiencing this or maybe know what's wrong? Help would be much appreciate. I did do a search but didn't find anything this specific.
The only thing I can think of is a hardware issue. Does the same thing happen with other ROMs?

No, it only happened when i switched to this rom. I've run MeanRom, MeanBean, Stock Root, etc. and this is the first time something like this happened. I downloaded the Wired Headset Routing app from the Play Store so I'm now able to toggle the headphone input on and off, which is way better. But I was just wondering if anyone had any input lol
