Baseband is identity like Your name "whatever" is your identity from same mean baseband is identity u can say of phone of your firmware like nokia having symbian and you yourself known symbian baseband is of nokia or u can say that os of nokia viceversa baseband is firmware if u break base+band you yourself knows baseband
baseband also includes country operator like i live in india and my phone baseband is DDKQ6 it represents indian os of samsung. Samsung is properiator of firmware DDKQ6 all updates toward india goes to this firmware or u can say that baseband is an interface B/W ur hardware your phone without baseband your phone is like a dead body because all thing can operate over baseband
hope now u understand

Baseband = Modem that identifies your region and carrier apps/modifications
Herpderp Defy.

Does it matter that i flashed Spain orange

Model number change after installed custom rom

Hello folks,
I have a doubt with my phone, it is a x10a but once I installed the rendeiro custom rom, it changed the model number to x10i. This can affect the operation the phone or is only a minor change and does not affect the operation band.
Thnx.
By the way, it is almost perfect. Very good job.

Same issue...
Hey guys, so, im having the same issue. This is actually the first time. So i just wanted to know if there was anything to worry about when installing custom roms. I own a tmobile note 2(t889) and recsently it has changed to GT-N7105. How would i go on when istalling roms? use T889 roms or N7105 Roms? And does that mean my phone is now an international phone? Im not a noob in the ROOT world but this is actually new to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Galaxy s2 Flashing firmware via odin

Hi guys.
When flashing firmware through odin, sometimes there are 3 files to be flashed, and in certain cases only one (pda). Why is that?? I flashed 2.3.4 android using odin with only one .tar file, but now for 2.3.5 there are three files. I live in austria, and I flashed the "official" austrian version. Whats the difference between those versions? I am on austrian tmobile, and i wouldnt like to loose the network settings? Can someone clear this mystery for me, since I am really confused?
Thank you guys in advance!!

hi,
when you have one file, it means it has all been packaged into one and you flash it under the PDA section of odin,
when you have the 3 seperate files you put them into their individual sections in odin.
- Don't select Re-Partition!
hope this helps
Thank you for your reply!
It is definately helping. But, what does it mean the firmware that i flashed is for austria? They released 2.3.4 for many countries... Why does it matter? Whats the difference between this one and firmwares for other countries?

Please don't, even if you have 3 files.
Thanks. Do u maybe know the answer to my previous question?

Official Austrian version is Android 2.3.4 and the XXKI3 for Poland is Android 2.3.5.
So what will happen if I flash the polish version? I am talking about firmwares in general, even the 2.3.4... Why did they separate it that way? Isnt it pretty much the same for all the countries?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
dude,VERY IMPORTANT WARNING what "intratech" has given you.Do not select re-partition unless you are using a pit file. You are not so DO NOT tick this box or you will brick your phone.
Ya i figured that from all those different flashing guides... Thanks though... Do u maybe have an answer to my question about android version for different countries? Would it make any difference if I installed the polish 2.3.5 version on my austrian galaxy s2?

So, is flashing the polish version going to mess up my internet over network? Is it going to delete my network settings?

So can I just flash the android version (PDA), and the baseband (Phone), without flashing the CSC?

Yes if you want just flash firmware without CSC or change CSC after .
Or look in that thread for a multi csc or Frankenstein rom to fit .

I have yeah, I'm just not sure which one I need?
read the country or provider
and see codes that stand for which country and u should find right 1
or get latest version build...
as only changes in those will be newer might be stable and different would be crapware which are different in different roms most of times.. and one more regional languages might also be missing in other region roms

I have, problem is I can't find New Zealand anywhere!
Try an Asian firmware, since it's closest. Do you remember your baseband version before flashing?

No, I'm afraid not. I figured I wouldn't to worry since I made a backup of all the original with CWM. For some reason, anytime I try to restore it, it just boots up whatever ROM I happen to have going at the time. Very frustrating
Latest NZ FW:
PDA:S5830XWKS9
Phone:S5830XWKS3
CSC:S5830VNZKP5
I have CWM backup, let me know if you still need it or not.

Check CSC NZKP5 (my post a page back). It is NZ stock rom. Baseband is XWKS3. That's the rom when I got my phone unless you've got parallel imported one.

[Q]Change baseband

Hi all
Can I change the baseband of the S5830L for a backup of the baseband of S5830C or M?
I will have problems?
Haha, I know, very very bad English,.sorry
Sent from my GT-S5830 using my hands
Yes, you can. Theres a lot of tutorial on how to do it with odin, actually i change my baseband to ddkq8, cause everything works more smooth with it.
Saludos, desde Chile.
Buuut, S5830C, i and M have differents chipsets

I don't think you can change the baseband like that. Search www.samfirmware.com for a different baseband of your phone model. Flashing ROM of other models may lead to some problems.

[Q] Saudi Arabia-Unbranded -GT-I9100LKAHAJ

Hi
my current rom is gingerbread 2.3.3 with baseband I9100XWKE1.
Saudi Arabia Unbranded GT-I9100 GT-I9100LKAHAJ
I am thinking of changing the baseband with STOCK UK (United Kingdom (Vodafone)) i.e. using odin changing the rom to uk vodafone.
Please tell me with are the pros and cons of doing it. will i brick my phone, what will happen to IEMI.
In my opinion changing firmware is not dangerous when done properly, I changed also from my national version to Uk and nothing bad happend. Anyway maybe do some more research about it and ask more people, opinions can vary and I dont want to be responsible.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
be sure you have i9100 under the battery
than goto www.sammobile.com or use checkfus downloader
get the stock ROM you want and flash using odin.
for your own safety stay away from LQ5 rom.
if there is no specific reason, instead of getting a vodafone version try to get unbranded ROM's
