Silly question but does anyone know why cut and paste wouldn't work. I'm able to cut but not paste....

You mean the paste tab won't show up or when you press it it does nothing? Still working for me okay.

It shows up but when I press nothing happens. I think it may be cross application. Can you cut from say browser and paste into gmail?
When you long press on a word or something you dont get two blue triangles that can be adjusted to include whatever you want

Its working cross application like the other user posted. Try a reboot. Might just be a glitch or bug that occurred. If its still happening, do you have any copy n paste apps like clip it or something installed?

yeah I'll try a reset...thanks guys
Let us know if that fixes it or not. Being rooted or not has no bearing on whether copy n paste functions work or not.
It took me a while to get use to this.
But this is working for me.
CTRL+X and
CTRL+V
I'm doing this right now from the slightly buggy Chrome
Beta that is bugging out as I try to type this.
Just remember that you have to first select over a word with your cursor in a text box window by holding down on it for a second until the double blue arrow appears so you can adjust your selection. Then the cut, copy, or paste keyboard command should work.

It's in /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper.
You will notice that it doesn't have an extension, so using Root Explorer, copy it to your sdcard, use Rename to place the proper extension (for example: wallpaper.png) and you're ready to go!
Or just use a new wallpaper, simple.

Thank you, My SD card died at some point and I really wanted to keep the picture that I had taken as my background.
I'm having some trouble with my X10i. Specifically using the touch screen itself. A lot of the time when i'm doing something and i release my thumb from the screen, the phone will continue to behave as though my thumb was still pressed on the screen.
This is more noticable when i'm typing an SMS (and other keyboard related activities). For example, i'll press the backspace button once to delete a letter but the phone will continue to hold the backspace until i press it again. I've tried various keyboards and have the same problem still. Another is using the XMBC remote, for example, i'll press the left button, let go and the phone will continue to assume that the button is still being pressed and just keep going.
There are other apps that have this problem too so i'm going to assume that there is something wrong with the screen itself. What i'm wondering if it is something I can solve by wiping the phone (reluctant to but will if necessary), calibrating somehow, or another method.. Or if it is a problem with the hardware itself and will have to get sent away for fixes.
Same freaking problem here and I don't know what to do about it

Q
If i change [80] to [100] it's better or worse ?
So, this question is more Rhodium specific, as I doubt anyone on the other forums could answer it. But you remember back in Windows Mobile how when you would use the messaging app or whatever, and when you pressed enter, it would start a new paragraph? Is there such a way to do this on here? Because I have been trying to figure it out, and I still have gotten nowhere with it. I have a good feeling the enter key is not mapped to do that though.
I use chompSMS for messaging and there u can set the Enterkey to Send mode or to create a new line... i hope u mean that
I actually hated that feature in WinMo, why would I want a new line in a text message!?! Enter = send, as it should.
Shift-enter gives me a new line in Google Voice, should work elsewhere enter = send.

Holding shift didn't work at first. I also tried using the fn key (which came to no results). I only posted because maybe there was something I was doing wrong. I hadn't ever figured it out, so I thought it never existed.
I feel really really stupid for having to post this, and so I hope it's a difficult solution.
I suddenly cant work out how to paste stuff? I can type a word, hold down on it, select the cut or copy button. But I cant get the Paste option show up. Probably gonna be a terrible response but I sold one the other day and the customer had a problem with copy and paste on the S3 cuz she had long nails... She could do it just fine on my Nexus, but had trouble on her S3. I however could do either perfectly fine. Maybe it's the angle you're doing it at or even try holding it down longer....

I just had a look on Renovate 3 4.0.4 ROM HTC OneX of a guy I work with and copy paste function works fine for him... do I need to be asking in the SGS3 forum?
Can I ask what firmware the S3 had? I'm using Swiftkey3 and have tried GO Keyboard and the same problem, copy and paste isn't dependent on which keyboard you use?
I've just tried doing this out of my imo messenger and it crashed it, it's also been crashing Chrome when I tried copying. So this seems to be a Samsung thing... Can I have this moved to the S3 forum Q&A please, thanks...

Nice tip, thanks. There is nothing on the clipboard How can firmware like this be released with such an obvious bug
Since the Note 3 is new, and so far, there is only one custom Rom, I've seen the "how do I disable camera sounds" question asked a few times.
I'm sure your favorite developer will incorporate this feature, into future Roms, like they have in the past, for previous devices. This is mainly for us impatient noobs.
You must be rooted. Using a root explorer, navigate to /system/csc. Backup your feature.xml. Navigate to /system/csc/SPR/system/csc. Copy feature.xml. Navigate back to /system/csc. Paste the new file, over writing the old one. Open the new feature.xml, scroll to the camera section, and change:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
to:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
Save, exit,
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
Note: I used 'Root Explorer'. ES File Explorer may also work.
Here is a list of potential csc parameters, gathered from other phones. I didn't create this list. I found it about a year ago, and thought it might be interesting, to play around with.
Edit: the text file came from @kkoolpatz

I edited the OP, to make it clearer, and modified the method, slightly.
One other possibility. Backup your feature.xml. Navigate to /system/csc/SPR/system/csc. Copy feature.xml. Navigate back to /system/csc. Paste the new file, over writing the old one. Open the new feature.xml, and change:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
to:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</
CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
(You're changing 'false' to 'true,)
Save, exit,
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
Very useful. Thank you.
Thanks for the clarification in the OP. I now got it to work. Problem I had before was that I did not realize that I was simply changing false to true. Super simple.

Great! It's good to hear that the instructions where clear enough to be followed. There's a lot more that can be enabled, such as using the camera during calls. It's the same principle, just a matter of searching through the feature.xml, and flipping or changing the variables.

Must have missed it. I was going to post the same thing since that was one of the first things I did when rooted but never got around to it. Glad someone posted it for others. Always good to share info. However you should have done it in the DEV section with a [MOD] Tag. Post some of the other tweaks too. It'll disappear here in General.

Yeah, maybe so. I went back and forth in my mind, and decided that this really isn't development, so here we are in 'General'.
I had a bunch of these edits, when I had my Note 2. I'll have to dig through, and see what additional features we can enable on the Note 3. Any help is definitely appreciated.
Geez, i wonder why Sprint wont include this option by default. On the at&t Note 3, the option to silence is already baked in.

I'm not sure what the problem is. ES File had some problems with root, about a year ago, but I thought they got that fixed. I use it everyday, but not the root functions. Maybe you can try going into SuperSU, selecting ES File, and tapping "forget", then go back into ES, and accept the SU prompt.
