Might be taking general a bit far, but off topic Linux question. - Motorola Photon 4G

I'm trying to make a driver for my wireless card (wusb54g v4) and when u attempt to "make" it, this is what I get:

}
I'm a newbie at linux, but trying to learn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Also, if more info helps, this is Ubuntu 11.10 stock install and am trying to get a different driver going so my wireless card will allow packet insertion).

Ah sorry, didn't think twice about the XDA app resizing things. It starts with error 2 only if I run it as sudo, then moves to error 1. If I don't run as sudo, it goes straight to error 1. I'm not around the computer right now, otherwise I'd give more info or a better screenshot.
I'm just confused as to what it could be missing. I've tried a couple different downloads, different versions just to make sure.

Here's a better pic of the screenshot, if that makes a difference. Should be readable now at least.

[Solved] SDK issue

First, I wasn't quite sure where I should put this, so if theres a better forum for it, please move it.
I feel like a real idiot right now, but nonetheless I'm having issues getting Eclipse 3.5.2 and the Android SDK to work (on Mac OS X).
I got as far as installing the ADT plugin and then once I got to "showing" Eclipse where the Android SDK was located I failed miserably. Every time I navigate to the folder and hit open and then apply nothing happens, it just stays at the "default" no SDK(s) screen. Bit hard to explain, so I took a screenshot.

So if anyone knows how to get that to work, it would be really appreciated. Maybe I screwed up something really obvious, that would be just my luck.
Umm, have you downloaded all the developer tools in the SDK? Launch the android binary in the /tools/ folder and look for available packages and install them all, or the ones you'll be using at least.

[Q] Webtop is frustrating me soooo bad!!!

ok, so webtop is a great concept I think it will be quite useful if.. I can run other apps.. I've done the webtop2sd and it seems I cant get the webtop configurator to work. from my understanding thats how we get the ubuntu repos added. My ultimate goal is to have my guilty pleasure (minecraft running on it) I hope its possible but it needs java. can someone please clarify the issue? I'm by no means dumb when it comes to this stuff. but android and linux and scripts are so-so in my knowledge. thanks!

For me its been a great feature. Im using the Debian image not the webtop2sd and.I can install many of the applications that I need, like OpenOffice, GIMP, and many others.

Dear God I am going to scream.
I am having this exact problem, yet no solution was listed. I have rooted the phone, I have loaded webtop2sd. Yet when I click on the configurator icon it glows for a second then nothing happens. I have gone over where busybox is installed. The diagnostics screen say I have both mmcblk0p13 and mmcblk1p2 mounted with the webtop configurator version 33.
I am not a linux noob but I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong on the install. All the icons are there, and all the files were copied, I have rebooted a million times, yet the icons just glow and then do nothing. Please help?
Using Atrix4G with real lapdock. AT&T US version with valid SIM and a 8GB Microsd card partitioned to the default 1gb/7gb split. I have the stock AT&T gingerbread rom and the original webtop was stock.

My custom built stock ROM!

Okay just wanted to share my custom built stock ROM. I took the stock ROM and added some scripts I found. Some tweaks. Some themes. I just got tired of flashing all the damn time so I just went stock and loving it! Here is a pic of my battery life.

I'm going to run quadrant and post those too. If I knew how to zip up a Rom is share with you ll if u were interested.
Okay here are my quadrant scores.
I don't think I need to flash anything else.
Anyone know how I can zip this up to be flashed so I can share?
Also big thanks to:
Haux for base Rom
Gojimi for calibration hack
Steelh for the how to's
Freeza for the moded kernel
Juwe11 for the RAM optimization script
Zone for the taskbar icons
Not sure who I credit for the faster scrolling script, SD card speed script, and the phones timeout lag fix when incall script but once I find out I'll add them here as well.

(Q) (R) Lockscreen Verizon text.

So I'm currently running Jt's VGB7. I was wondering if there was a way to modify the Lockscreen where it says "Verizon" in the top right corner of the Lockscreen to my name or something else.
Maybe through root explorer or UOT? I tried to search for ways all night yesterday and couldn't figure anything out besides the type of font. If anyone knows a way could you please explain how to do it. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

From what I recall its either a tsm option or a rom option because I remember being able to switch it at one point but I just looked and I can't switch it now and i'm on cm7...I wanna say I could on com rom but don't remember for sure. The point is, I don't believe it was something complex like deleting lines our modifying files or anything...it was just an option, so if you can't find it...I would guess its rom specific...sorry I couldn't be more help

Decompile framework-res.apk. Navagate to res/xml/eri.xml. And edit various lines/states within that xml. Recompile/push back to device.
good day.

[APP] Wireless ADB

OK, I found a really cool app on the market here
It's called wireless adb! It is really easy to setup and work. Just open the app and press the green button. Then on your computer, type "adb connect "ip address here: port"

This does require root, but it is still worth it! Have fun
ALSO, I DID NOT MAKE THIS APP IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. I AM SIMPLY PASSING ON INFORMATION.
It is a very nice app a few roms have it built in.

Thanks for this!
Best app ever for adb lovers.
Since this is an app on the phone its not going to work for anything other than a fully booted phone to push/pull files with right? Im referring to being unable to run any commands in hboot or recovery. Its a cool idea but seems like its usefullness would be limited.

If you're in recovery, you could easily mount USB instead of ADB..
