I've seen many people that have superb battery life compared with me.
For example, some peoples have 3 days battery life and/or 5-7 hrs screen on time.
I tried to change many kernels, many roms, many modems, uc/uv cpu and gpu, tweaked many things, wipe battery stats by many ways, but I never touch that battery life
For me, the longest battery life is just ~3-4 hrs screen on time in around 14-16 hrs of the day with the following states:
- CheckROM v4 with 2.6.7 siyah kernel, magic config and 3-step gpu frequencies
- ICS Domanation 1.9 theme
- XXKI4 modem
- normal partial wakelocks (in BetterBatteryStats)
- fast dormancy disabled
- gps, bluetooth, sync off
- wifi/3g on (if on 3g, it's slightly hard to touch 3 hrs screen on)
- almost used Whatsapp, Facebook and some web browsing
- JKay's darkest automatic brightness setting
- almost no voice calling
What I can do for improve my battery life
Various factors affect battery life, try a different modem to see if that improves your signal, as sometimes a poor signal can also drain battery.
Also try * #301279# and disable the higher hsdpa if your carrier doesn't use it, change it to release 5 to see if that helps.
Also when testing kernels give them a good few cycles to judge its battery performance.
Usage patterns will also affect how fast the battery will drain, those with extremely high screen on time are probably just using less cpu intensive applications, like reading an ebook or such, where as if you play games it will drain faster.
Like today for me I've streamed music for nearly 3.5 hours using Spotify and google music via 3g that has drained a fair bit of battery whilst I was out and about listening to music.

I would suggest 2 things. Try getting the newer siyah kernel (unsure if it will help battery though) Use magic config, but undervolt the lower frequency further by -25mV. downclock (although it seems like you did it) to 1000MHz. Phone works fine even at 1000.

Once you flashed the kernel, let it calibrate by charging fully, bring down till phone shuts down and then recharging fully. Also checking your BBS, seems like you had WiFi on for a long time. From my experience, having WiFi on does eat up the battery a lot so try turning it off when you are not using it.
Yep, I connected wifi all day. Since I have bought the phone and flashed roms & kernels, the battery drains only 1/2 percent per hour with wifi on, but after 2-3 months, it drains more than 1% per hour with wifi on.

Don't do this not necessary at all is a bad idea letting the battery drain down until it shuts down, just charge to 100% once done take out your battery for about 90 seconds then put it back in and start phone, we have a fuel gauge chip on our phones.
Fully discharging the batteries is not good for its long term health.

Yep nikzDHD is right. Any procedure or app that purports to calibrate original Samsung batteries for the SGS2 is voodoo Other than charging it to 100% & removing it for a minute or two & putting it back in as Nikz said.

So I know this has to be a software problem, and not a hardware problem, but I have no idea how to narrow it down. This issue has traversed 2 separate devices 4 separate batteries, and multiple Roms from Stock to Stock based (haven't tried CM7 don't feel it is ready for what I need out of it). It's not always easy to reproduce but it is bothersome.
Pretty much, randomly my device will have trouble connecting to the web, (sometimes it just freezes) I can't figure out why it is, so I do a power cycle, When I do the power Cycle I have about 40-50% left. When I turn my phone back on, I'm down to 12-20%. There is no reason for that kind of discrepancy. I've drained out the battery when it does happen, charge it back up, and the problem doesn't show again for a couple days. Randomly it does happen again, since I have a whole new device and a trusted new battery I figured since it happened to ask around.
Interestingly enough, if I pull out the battery (at least this time) the device gained 4%. Also over time the percentage does slowly rise if I leave it alone, but not faster than I would be able to drain it. I am attaching screenshots so you can see what I am talking about, alas I don't have before screenshots.
Also I know my battery life isn't the best out there, but I don't really think of myself as an overly heavy user, I usually kill batteries in my devices after about 2-3 hours of screen on time which leads me to think part of the lower battery life I have is due to the signal in my neck of the woods.

Same thing has happened to me, on 3-4 different occasions...shut down and restart the phone for a random reason, then when I turn it back on, I have about half the battery % remaining as I had before shutting it off. Exact the same as you're describing, will have it slowly rise a few % points after its been back on awhile. Thought it was my device, but maybe not?

Since it happened to me on two separate devices and different batteries and roms it's gotta be something else in the unit I just have no idea what it is. Could be a problem with the Stock Firmware and battery meter. Yes I am running custom roms but they are stock based.

Happened with the MAX17040 in the Infuse too.
The numbers after a battery pull should be the most accurate - especially if you let it sit for a while during the pull.

Pulling gets me 4% back. Still never would have expected a 30% drop. That really means with my barely using my device my battery life is sub par. (on 2 separate devices nonetheless with different batteries) 9 hours with a bit over 2 hour screen on time till dead? I'd say it's software but I have really nothing running in the background, I did notice this device is nearly always running at 1200 Mhz when the screen is on, but I can't find any reason for that or application that would cause it since my first device didn't have that issue with the same Apps.
For Reference I am adding in my BBS. I am at work all day hence WiFi on since I notice I have better battery life when WiFi is on with all of my other devices

I used to get this on the Captivate, and I've had it once or twice on the SGS2, but it's never been a problem. make sure you do a full discharge (or at least down to 15%) once in a while. I try to do it every 2-4 weeks.

Yea, I bought a external battery charger, I'm keeping 3 charged batteries at all times with how I apparently kill my batteries, and empty them to turning off and charge them back up.
I can confirm this has happened to me. It has happened a couple times when flashing a ROM or theme. The battery would go from 46% to 16%.
My phone once went from 56% to 0% (dead) overnight. Another time it went from 30% to 0% (dead) overnight.
Usually it drops 1-3% overnight, but on those two occasions, it obviously dropped WAY more.
No idea why.

I would happily take that 1-3% I lost 15 to 20 overnight with the device in deep sleep supposedly most of the night.

If you want to save the battery life during night, better first step is to use "Sweet Dreams", download it from market and enable it after setting sleep time and wakeup time under general tab, this apps somewhat helps though not great extend, give it a try, this may help the phone from going dead.
i used BetterBatteryStats to try and see what was killing my battery. in an 8 hour night, i lose 20% battery.. not cool. thats over 2% an hour, with bluetooth off, and gps off, (i leave my wifi connected because ive been told wifi uses less battery than 3G). i turn my brightness all the way down, and call it a night. yet i still wake up so drained.. could someone a little more knowledgeable take a look at my log and see if they can make heads or tails of what are the big drainers here?

i had the same problem, and read a solution that i donwt yet know if works, but worth trying: freezing the network location with titanium backup.

why specifically dlink?
Your gtalk, facebook etc are taking a toll on your battery
D-Link routers have problems with pinging the phone excessively draining the battery. I have the problem with this router and non others (at work, at friends, etc). I don't think a lot of people know about this. They simply accept the battery drain. Turning wifi off when not in use (through juicedefender not wifi sleep policy) is a workaround.
Unless maps is running, the network usage shouldn't stand out at the top unless latitude is signed in.
Facebook drain is unfortunate but normal. Even if notification is set to off, it still wakes the device periodically. Don't try to kill it because when it restarts itself it does a full sync causing a cpu spike.
There are several apps that uses a good amount of cpu even when idle. TVUPlayer, Polaris office, tapatalk, soundhound, goggles translate.
All these are results of a long period of testing on cpu usage and battery analysis.
With that said, not all wakelocks cause battery drain. A lot of people are obsessed with killing / freezing all apps they see as wakelocks in bbs. This is not necessary. Otherwise, don't run Facebook, ebay, skype, push email, then why get a sgs2? Battery monitor widget causes the most wakes in bbs yet it only uses a very small % of battery.

The apps I mentioned above don't necessarily use data in background (in a noticeable amount anyway). What I meant is that after quitting the app (back key), it keeps consuming a fairly small amount of cpu constantly, indefinitely, and is unnecessary. TVU player isvthe worst. Try watching a show for 5 seconds, quit the app, you'll see in System Tuner that it keeps consuming about 5% of battery constantly.
Good workaround. Install System Tuner (requires root), and set it to kill the problematic programs on screen off (problematic programs only). If you kill system apps or Facebook, etc, they'll keep restarting themselves and everytime this happens, more cpu time is consumed.
Widgets (battery, weather, news, etc) don't "drain" your battery. But of course they do make your phone "consume" a bit more battery. With widgets that update, you will see a lot of Alarm Manager wake counts in BBS, which is fine. Battery widget for instance, it polls your battery stay every minute or so, so an internal clock timer will be active at all times. But a several-hour-long cpu usage analysis will show minimal battery usage.
In my experience for fixingbmy own battery drain perceived, biggest killer is wifi on dlink router, latitude, and a few badly written apps that consume cpu even after quitting. All other stuff are not really battery drainers. Bottom line is, the more apps you install, the more battery is used. But 8 hours standby time, there's definitely a battery drain. If you don't touch you phone, expect no more than 2% drop an hour to be normal. My drops about 1.5% every 2 hours after careful tweaking.

What did you expect? That using the screen will have the same batterie usage as when you have screen off?
Lower you brightness and use as little white backgrounds as possible. Other then that, there is not much you can do.
And please, use a normal topic titel next time.
Try the BetterBatteryStats thread. Those guys will be able to advise you how to maybe reduce your wakelocks.

MistahBungle is talking about something else. You don't have wakelocks, your screen just uses power when it's on.

You have no batterie drain. That's just the way it works. You could try calibrating your batterie, but nothing else.

With my friend who has the same instrument he was playing football for 20 minutes down to 8 percent of a battery, I'm five minutes and I go down 8 percent.
It could be different ROM versions. But don't worry. Use your phone. I have games that deplete my battery faster while others are slower.
Your friend may have a different configuration, too. Lower screen brightness. Less apps running in the background. Better cell coverage. Possibly an extended battery. Over wifi.
Too many factors. Try lowering screen brightness. Try relaxing too. Its a phone.

A week old device will not have gone through enough cycles yet .
You have a non stock rom so cannot blame the battery .

Based on what you posted it seems fine. But you need a longer sample.
Do you have your touch sounds, key press sounds and lock sounds off? You have a lot of audio_1 wakelocks

No, everything is off even the light on the touch buttons I did all the tips from one of the threads here of Tips to save battery life.
I forgot to mention I use Siyah 4.1.5 and WanamLite 12.5 is it good solution to save battery life or should I change kernel to speedmod or something else?

Siyah is good enough. The trick is to use extweaks to tweak for better battery life. There are many good threads that can help for that
