As most of us know samsung have secret hidden menues for testing hardware functionalities using secret codes which are only avaliable through dialer , so as we dont have dialer , I've found this app on market that can acess the hidden menues without using the dialer , its name is SGS secret codes https://market.android.com/details?...wxLDEsImNvbS5saWRyb2lkLnNncy5zZWNyZXRjb2RlIl0.
wow thanks .

Ics isn't Samsung. That's why it doesn't work. Get back on a Samsung rom and it will.
works here on ICS AOKP -p4 P7500, but only some of the buttons/codes.
Anyone knows an App or method to enter custom GSM codes ? I need that to show remaining monthly Data volume of my Prepaid SIM. Should be something like *100#

Hi guys
Minneyar from www.pocketpc.ch made a package for the dialer.
http://www.pocketpc.ch/sony-ericsso...eeddialer-voll-funktionsfaehig-ohne-root.html
one to install without root or unlocked bootloader. (with adb, usb debugging must be active, install via pc)
the other simply with recovery.
both contain the dialer and contacts app.
recovery pack comes with new phone app too (original one, not skinned)
nameresolving while speeddialing fully working.
restart phone if you used adb package
please no mirror
downloadable without waiting or registration

The same bug was there in a dialer of Xperia S theme by flamemo. I think it is the same file from the theme pack.
can we import contacts from memorycard or sim after installing this?
coz someone reported in some othr thread that they cant import from other than google.
well, since there is only 1 app semcphone.apk in system/app from xperia s it might be the same
however there are still other things to resolve as well (infinite view shows no calls and no sms history)
how do I install it from PC?

Try,with this I can import/export from memory card

i think there is still something else missing, since you can't add a contact to the call or call someone else (both buttons are there, but not clickable)
and since the strange signs in dialpad are references that couldn't be resolved they mess up and show just the reference.

Okay as the title says, I'm unable to send ANY SMS messages from my phone to another when on AOKP, AOSP or CM9
It works flawlessly on the ICS Samsung roms though..
Can anybody please help..?
I've tried switching numerous roms..resurrection, hydrogen, F1 Galaxy Nexus, the SMS just doesn't seem to work..
Oddly, receiving works just fine though the sending is having trouble..

Ask your network for the required information reference the number .
As you are asking about non Samsung roms its worth checking the relevant development threads .

Then click update.

Method 1 gave me an update error
Method 2 since I'm on a Samsung ROM right now, I can change the center number from the messaging app itself. So I did and went to the dialer, entered the code and saw that the smsc changed
I then tried to again manually change it (though everything was working just fine but it was giving me some odd 07.. Kind of numbers)
The manually changing didn't quite work then I copied the same number that was displayed before when I changed the center number through messaging app and pasted it in the smsc to see if now it updates and it works!
I think all I have to do now is go to an aosp ROM of my choosing and input the same number in the smsc

I'm not sure as well because it's been very long I used stock ROM.
Although I don't use blacklist function, but it's like I've seen it there before.

I'm still using CRv6 GB 2.3.6.
Under Settings/Call/Call Rejection is 2 options.
The first option is how to reject (I use Blacklist only).
The second one is Blacklists. Under this is the option, to block all unknown numbers. For me, that also includes (and blocks) all blocked or private caller id numbers.
I hope this helps you.

Black listing numbers on the operator side of things, if you block them through apps/CM9, first they won't truly be blocked (IE they will still be able to call you but your phone just won't allow the call to go through on its end) and second you will have to do it all over again when you change ROM etc. If you call up your provider and ask them to blacklist a number its a much better way.
Hi all,
This post is for those who are interested in using their tab 10.1 P7500 or P4 with voice call functions using 4.3 ROMS as a back up device in case normal phone bricks....
I was able to test two 4.3 based ROMs namely PAC Infamous by kasper_h (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2411081) and CM 10.2 SGT7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2098429) by twa_priv. Both worked and can be used with enabled voice functions. Other 4.3 ROMS found in the Android dev thread can also be used.
Here are some tips, perhaps useful to some, after installing your preferred 4.3 based rom above-mentioned.
1. Make sure that the right modem i9103XXLQ3 is flashed through CWM. You can get it herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1875024.
2. Make sure that tab SIM card is enabled for phone calls by your provider. You can be sure that your phone SIM card is, when you transfer it to your tab. But if you only have an internet enabled SIM card by your provider, this guide won't work, no matter what.
3. After putting your SIM card in your device, open the settings, CLICK on "MORE", CLICK on MOBILE NETWORKS then CLICK on ACCESS POINT NAMES (APN).
4. CLICK on the PLUS (+) sign found on the upper right hand corner then manually put correctly the corresponding APN configuration of your SIM for both Internet and MMS (these APN settings vary depending on your provider and country so one must look that up, if the APN settings are not configured automatically. If you are using your phone SIM card, the APN settings can be found in the same settings area of your phone: see n. 2 above).
5. Once you set the APN configuration, CLICK on the THREE DOTS found on the upper right hand corner and then CLICK on SAVE. If you can't find the THREE DOTS sign, GO to SETTINGS, CLICK on BUTTONS and then in MENU BUTTONS, CHECK SHOW ACTION OVERFLOW which enables the display of the three dots..
6. It may also be necessary to reboot your device for the APN settings to be activated after configuration.
7. After that, click on NETWORK OPERATORS. When you choose your network in the settings, it may give an "error in searching networks message". Click then on the automatic search of network.Once it gives the message "Registered in your network", then the tab is ready for voice receive and call functions.
8. As mentioned by John Kester, the tab's SPEAKERS ARE OFF BY DEFAULT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2452869) so you have to CLICK ON THE SPEAKER ICON everytime you receive or make a call.
Thanks to kasper_h, twa_priv and to john kester (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2445431) for the help.
Enjoy and all the best!
Hi,
I'm using a p7500 with Infamous PAC Sept18,2013 (4.3 based) rom installed and honestly, it's quite fast and smooth. 3G Internet is working but voice call isn't. I'm wondering if there is an Android 4.3 based rom with enabled voice call function.
Thanks in advance for whatever suggestion and help you can give me.

Thanks Gil81. I'm quite hesitant though to try it out with my device since it only lists voice call enabling for ICS (4.0.4), CM10(4.1) based roms. Hopefully the pros (kasper_h, twa_priv) would consider this possiblity of enabling voice calls for JB 4.3 based roms. It would be a great help!

Just tried PAC Infamous(22sept13) now and you're right! Thanks. Voice enable function does work with it. My previous attempt was unsuccessful due to the confusion caused by the message "error while searching networks". I tried the automatic funtion and it gave the message "registered on network" and it started functioning.
Will try SGT7 ROM.

Oh yes, no problem with that and no need to be sorry, really.
