I remember this was a issue with some in the past and want to know if there is a easier fix than taping the power button and draining the battery completely as my tab just came off the charger on a full battery.
Issue: I took off the charger and my screen was on but the touch on the screen wasnt working. I pressed the power button to turn the screen on and it only dimmed the screen.
I let the screen on idle to time out and it did. Turned the screen on and same thing. So I held the power button down to do a reset and now it wont turn on. I connect it to the computer and press the power button and one of the volume rockers and it goes off and connects but thats it.
Has a fix been done for this?
Thanks in advance!

Does it turn off and on when you push the power button? if so then it is working. What you need to do is go to settings, then power, then advanced, then on battery power set the minutes or seconds to turn of the device. Or maybe your device's buttons are accidentally pressed so what you need to do is button lock it so that it won't get pressed accidentally.
master g.
Not sure if this is what you mean but I was confused by the on/off switch on my IIi, I kept turning the backlight off rather than getting it to suspend.
The trick is to just press the power button for a short time and it will go off/on. If you hold it down you only put the back light on/off. I guess I shoulda read the manual.
First post btw, hi all.
The problem is, when you press the power button, it goes off just for a second then turns on again. I have changed the backlight and power settings, but still it just wont go to suspend mode. Even when pressing the suspend icon button in SBP Pocket Plus, the unit behaves the same. All I do now is turn off the backlight by pressing the power button for more than a second and just let the today screen be on, but it is eating away my battery life...
please help.
thanks
hard Reset ...
Need some help !
The HTC Jet stream does not power on - strange problem.
Unit used to work perfect till today - however suddenly the unit does not power on.
1. Battery is fully charged
2. The orange led on the power button is "on" even when its NOT Charging
3. pressing the power on does not do anything.
Tried several things, like doing a "hard reset" from the buttons, by pressing the volume down and at the same time pressing or holding the power - NOTHING help.
The ORANGE screen on the power is "on" with the charger or without it.
Any of you guys have a smart idea to try ?
Anyone know if there is a "hidden" reset button ?
problem was solved !
press & hold the power button for 20 seconds & at the same time press the volume button.
This has released the "stuck status" and the jet stream has back to live as normal.
FIXED!!!

My l710 is running a CM11 RC and I just clicked on an app and the screen went black. I figured my phone had just done a random crash, but then I realized when I hold the power button nothing shows up. At all. And then I am able to hold the power button again and get another vibrate. When I plug it into a charger, it shows the battery charging symbol, but I cannot turn it on at all.
Please ask in i710 forum we can't help you here
I am not sure if this is a bug with 5.1.1 or not. I tried searched before coming here to post, but I haven't come across a solution yet.
Anyways, my phone doesn't have power saver on, smart stay is off, and I have my security set to fingerprint unlock.
To the issue at hand - My screen doesn't automatically time out if I press the home button or the power button to turn on my screen. In order for the screen to turn off, I have to manually press the power button. Otherwise, the screen just stays on and drains my battery. This wouldn't be too much of an issue if my butt didn't always press the home button while the phone was my pocket.
I'd really hate to factory reset or flash another rom, as I just finished installing all of my apps and whatnot after a phone replacement. However if that is the only option to fix this problem, then I'm okay with doing so.
Thanks ahead of time for reading!
**quick edit** - forgot to mention that if I receive a notification, that it turns my screen on and keeps it on until I press the power button.
Hello,
After my phone got wet recently, it is showing a strange problem. the phone does not turn down its display after 1 mins (default), I press the power button, the screen turns off back to on again. Please help.
thanks
How is this related to Tasker?
this helped
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...galaxy-s4-mini-screen-keeps-turning-back.html
problem was that the home button internal circuit lies close to the power button, so when I pressed the power button, the home button also got activated after the phone got wet.
So, I looked for a solution where pressing the home button doesn't wake up the phone.
and finally I found it in wannam exposed module.
Yes it's not directly linked to Tasker, button we can also achieve the same function with Tasker by playing with the kl files in system/usr/keylayout folder
This doesn't belong here.
You should go to your device forum.
