The price of an EVO 3D seems to be falling and can be found for £229 in the UK. This is significantly cheaper then the sensation. Maybe HTC are finding that it is not selling as much as expected?
Have there been similar cuts in other places?
Germany - Down to 269€ (from ~390€) since mid January, some places even sold it for 222€ at the end of January and beginning of February (got mine for that price, weee)
So, yeah ~£229(-£185) over here as well.
The pricing is really weird. The Desire S costs the same, the Desire HD and the Incredible S cost more (10% and 20%).

I think what sprint is doing over here is throwing most phones down cheap since they are gonna roll out LTE phones in the very near future and quit using wimax ones lol...

This was pay as you go so not directly comparable to a contract as the handsets are often subsidised on contract. Most phones are free on contract here, but with larger monthly costs.

Ya over here sprint is finally catching up with all other carriers such as LTE which has been out for awhile now.... So they have been knockin the prices down over here.....
I don't really see much hype over it the LTE phones lol since sprint was so SLOW rolling 4G out to most areas lol... I still don't have 4G in my neck of the woods ....
Luckly you guys can get Evo 3D cheaper nowa days.

The LTE rollout will be much faster than the Wimax one which was handled mostly by clearwire anyway.

Same thing happened to the Evo 4g when all the new products started rolling out. With the addition of new LTE devices it was only a matter of time before the 3d became a free phone for 2 years of service. I still love the 3d though, came from the 4g as an insurance replacement and it's still going strong. All I need is a fully functional ICS rom and I will be ok until July when I am up for an upgrade.
I got mine free about two months ago. Bestbuy was giving people who upgrade $50 towards their new phone. The phone was on sale for $50, making it free. I called sprint while driving there and said i was upgrading to the s2, but i said i could barely afford it and was asking for some help. They gave me an extra $25 credit and waived the activation fee

I am sticking to my EVO 3D. It's a solid piece of hardware, no need to change it. Don't see the point. Will consider moving on when One X drops to a reasonable price.
Still don't know is this a good or bad thing...
Just hope it will make it a bit more popular.

Well the Evo 3D dropped in price in most countries. Even though its an better smartphone then HTC Sensation, its cheaper now to then the HTC Sensation. The Evo 3D which was first more expensive is now kinda cheap for an smart phone off its specifications.
I see many off you just get the phone with an contract, just like many in The Netherlands do.
Well, I hate to say it but the 3d was indeed a flop (in the business sense) , especially in contrast to the 4g which was an astounding success. The 3d should have been marketed as being sleek and fast but was instead marketed only as being 3d capable which to most consumers.....just didn't fly. After all, whether you like 3d capabilities or not, it's still just a gimmick that didn't take off.

I bet if the HTC Evo 3D was cheaper then the HTC Sensation then many would have just chosen for the HTC Evo 3D.
Now many needed choose between HTC Sensation which was cheaper and HTC Evo 3D and then they needed choose between 1080p 2D video with HTC Sensation or 720P both in 2D and 3D with HTC Evo 3D.
I guess price the Evo 3D got now it should start selling better.
I'm VERY glad that it failed to advertise as 3D feature and not it's Specs, thanks to that i've got my EVO just for 250euros, gsm unlocked. One of the best phones atm on the market, unless buying ONE X instead , no other phone is worth changing for Evo.
When i check differences in EVO and Sensation for example, my face goes like :
EVO 3D , 250euros, dual core 1.2 ,
Sensation XE Beats, 500 euros, dual core 1.5
Sensation XL beats, 530euros, single core 1.5,
Looks like its all about advertise and looks even in current century, 90% of customers never look at Specs or even understand what anything means.
God bless American education and fastfood.
All of Sprint's phones are free on Amazon except the iphone4
I imagine Sprint wants to EOL as many Wimax phones as possible. While they will still support Wimax for a while after their initial LTE rollout, they don't want to be adding to the people who use Wimax; they want to save those people for LTE. Sprint is in a bad place right now, and they need as much money as they can get. Moving out older devices and focusing on newer, more powerful, LTE devices is the way for them to gain what they need.
All contract phones I have ever owned have been free, I guess it's different in the US?

In the Netherlands you can also still get ''free'' phones, only in past you could get an high end device like HTC Desire HD with a contract where you pay in 2 years about € 600.
But that you can forget now, it will atleast cost you 900 euro and you get an contract where you first get an period discount and after that you need pay much more.
So I believe buying your phone without contract can be cheaper.

My feelings exactly. I bought my OG EVO 4G from some guy and got an EVO 3D on an insurance claim (I accidentally wiped the WiMax keys, and I wanted an EVO 3D anyway). I've still got my original upgrade credit from when I signed up. I'll wait until HTC releases LTE phones before I use my credit. I love my EVO 3D, but WiMax is not in my area. LTE will probably be coming to my area eventually, so why not upgrade to an LTE phone as soon as I have a chance?

What I meant to say was "Oooo.. subtle."
In all seriousness... this is pretty cool, and a shrewd move to rename it. Not that I agree with rebranding of course.
I would hope it had ICS from the word go. BTW.. do not many people use Pay As You Go (PAYG) a.k.a. Pre-paid, in the states?
So is the EVO V 3D supposed to be like the HTC One V?
This is good. That means another company might keep corporate-side development of this machine and we can port the goods if Sprint drops us; which is looking more plausible as the new phones come out.
Its the EVO V 4g the first 4g Phone on Virgin Mobile being release this month, I think it was may 31th. Its the Evo 3d same phone just Virgin mobile. Not sure if they made a different plan but on the site it says unlimited 4g for 35$ so I guess not. The phones gonna be 299.99 on release I would hold off until around July for a sale or something. me personalty just bought the Triumph 2 months ago so i wont be getting it if i didnt i would have.
Hey, guys. Here's a thread that's not about ICS.
So I've been thinking about getting the new EVO because honestly, I'm done with this phone. It's getting old, beaten, and less responsive. I do not want to return this for a refurbished, due to the fact I unlocked my phone using revolutionary and would not like to deal with the new hboot method.
I'm also getting very slow data speeds, even on Wimax, and coverage for me is spotty at best. The airave is a little help, except for the fact, that from time to time it would send the same text message 17 times.
I don't really use much internet, so i wouldn't mind giving up my unlimited for a 2GB data plan on ATT. I messed with the Note and it is AMAZING especially LTE. Point is, does anyone know if I could recieve an upgrade from Sprint early? That way, I would stay with sprint, get the new Evo, and see if Sprints coverage and LTE is actually worth staying for another two years. I've been a Sprint Premiere gold customer since I joined when the original EVO was out, but now that they have gotten rid of it, I don't see the need to pay 100 a month for service that is mediocre at best. I'm willing to pay the ETF to leave for something better.
I know this should be in Q&A but the Evo 3D forums on XDA have been such a mess, I doubt it matters. Thanks for reading guys.
Let the Evo 3D flamers begin!

The only thing I could think of is to wait until the new Evo comes out and ours is past end of life and warranty it a few times. Might have to start before the new one comes out so you can get a 90 day warranty on the refurb before yours original warranty is up. I actually thought about this myself.

Calling Sprint and asking a few times and getting different reps "can" do the trick at times for ya...just be upfront and tell them your thinking of leaving and just want an upgrade earlier...some reps will do it, some wont.

The ETF at 12 months is $240.00. So you are saying that Sprint is giving you a $140.00 credit for your Evo 3d?
Edit: Found that Sprint is giving $99.00 for the Evo 3D buyback program (hell, they are still giving $90.00 for the Evo 4G). So you are about $40.00 off the price here.

My friend did the same thing when the 3d came out he was coming from the OG evo. He gave sprint his OG with the buyback program crediting him $100 bucks. Then he renewed his contract for another 2 years picking up the 3d for $100 bucks total with the $100 credit from his OG turn in. Now Im not sure if it was just that time it could be done because Sprint wasnt as popular at that time then it is now since picking up the iphone and the only carrier to have unlimited data. I hope that type of offer remains because I too want to get the new Evo LTE. I started up with Sprint when the 3D came out which was june 24 of last year so when the Evo LTE releases it should be my 1 year mark. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

When LTE comes out (either frequency), don't expect the 4G on your WiMAX phones not to work. Sprint plans on keeping WiMAX around (except no more new phones) for legacy phones still running the technology. For a good bit of time at least, until a majority moves to LTE.

Nobody forced you to buy a Sprint Wimax phone. You can easily switch to Verizon if you want.

It's all good man... Post isn't bad.. I understand what your post is about
well dan hasse said someone that that 10 fee was premium data free, knowing that our fones use up more data and if that fee wasn't instituted that we probably would be on a tier data plan now. as for the wimax it will be up thru 2015. It does suck, as Detroit only has 4g downtown, like 4sq miles or less lolz. But how many of us actually bought the fone thinking that wimax was the future or did we just want the new next hyped fone, that had 3d and good specs. Their not gonna do a trade in thing cuz there will always be a new big fone.... I really feel more sorry for ppl that got this fone thinking they will qualify for gold membership and have an upgrade every year, though I've heard many ppl argue just that and actually get a upgrade back... soo yawl can try that...

they did stop it but they didn't stop it before ppl got the evo 3d but they canceled it before the gold membership period and left ppl stuck, kinda, but like I said I've heard ppl argue that and get an upgrade

honestly I wouldn't be in such a rush to get the Evo One but my 3d phone, ppl can't barely hear me, they say I sound muffled at times, and I know it's the fone :-( I just love the fact of having a fone everyone can hear me on again!
Well, I am gonna nab the new evo for sure! Coming from an Evo 3d, that was a pain for devs to root, the new one will be much easier to work with.
As far as LTE, I'm not holding my breath... in Vegas I can't even find a date for launch. I'm guessing late 2013? Also, they call the $10 fee a smartphone fee now. Go figure?

just being devils advocate but how do u know that it will be easier to root
They've been saying July/August for the roll out for NYC but alas still no LTE.
Also been hearing Long Island should be blanketed with LTE. I really hope it's not like how it was with WIMAX and only have coverage in NYC/Queens and us Long Islanders get screwed.
I only had 4G when I was at work in the city which is garbage.
Anyone have any legit info?
Thanks
NYC should be getting it soon, the delay is probably QC. Long Island, NY is on a different schedule though. Hopefully you work in Manhattan lol or its going to be a sad trip home. Unless you have decent WiFi.

If I have to wait for LTE till Sept. 2013 all I have to say is bye bye Sprint and hello ATT. This is bullcrap. I dealt with this with the OG EVO and now with this.
I can officially say I will terminate my contract prematurely.
What the hell are we paying an extra $10 a month for?

Dude relax, that's when it's Finished 100%. You'll see it on & up long before then. It's not like you're out in Montauk.
You won't see any LTE in long island till 2013 summer. It will be spotty coverage till 2014

I am relaxed just fed up. Don't get me wrong Sprints customer service is the bomb I've had no issues in that department. But when we were promised 4G with the OG EVO we didn't receive it. We were paying $10 extra per month and it only made its way to NYC and queens. Now they are it and promise us LTE and we purchases out phones in May/June and for some of us we won't see it till Summer/Fall of 2013. I think that's kind of bull crap.

All smart phones pay that. Not just 4G ones. Sprint changed that 18 months ago.
Still cheaper. But hey the grass is always greener, right?

I feel the op's pain here on long island. Never having gotten any Wimax in a market as large as ours and being so close in proximity to nyc always poised me off too. Now with lte having to wait again sucks but what can you do? Wait it out or move on to another carrier. I'll wait it out. I'm happy with sprints service and pricing overall and when I'm home my Fios kicks ass for all my internet needs.
