Does anyone have a nice one? I've seen a couple, including a spinning CM logo and another that was nice seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4wJkbqu0rw#t=07m11s
I'd really like to get the one in the video, but have been unable to find a decent version.

I was wondering if there is a way now that we have root to enable the Gingerbread on / off animation that HTC removed, without having to flash a new ROM?
This is different than the power up / restart / down animation that is listed elsewhere in this forum.
Thanks!
I just searched around, and maybe it's lack of proper wording but all I turned up was "it's in Gingerbread" Nothing relating to how to activate/deactivate/change it. What I would surmise from all of this is that HTC chose not to implement it in their build, so an AOSP build would/should have it vs the HTC build.. Sucks but it seems like all we have right now.
Of course the last link I try, I find this: http://droidmodderx.com/old-school-crt-animation-for-gingerbread-tv-off/
Don't go flashing it, but we should be able to pick it apart and determine what we need to add in.
I was able to add it in but HTC messed something in the code up and the animation plays extremely slow. I'm still looking around to see if i can figure out how to speed it up and once i do it'll be in my rom.
Awesome. This is my first Android and I've seen it in videos. Seems pretty cool!
u can try spare parts+ to speed up the animation.

Good stuff, thanks for the reply guys. Seems like it should be something to easy to add in but I guess not.
Are you talking about the animation that comes up when you turn your phone off/on? The animation on the CM roms? If thats the one your talking about I would love it too.

No, this is when you put the screen to sleep(tap the power button, or wait for the screen timeout).
It's called the CRT animation, is mimics the screen "twitch" old CRT computer monitors.

yeah thats it, is this out yet for rezound?
Negative, according to Newt and Chingy, the animation does work but there's something within the OS that slows it down dramatically, so it's pretty much useless.
We'll have this soon enough, the dev's are awesome and they'll figure it out. I do like having those animations.

Eh, at least our bootloader is unlocked... (LOL @ Motorola)
Droid 2 deja vu. That was such a pain to have a locked bootloader

Coming from EVO 3D, I know it took them quite a while to get CRT working there, as well.
Does the app
Tablified Market HD Lite
work on CM9
my friend is the founder and it works on
android 3.0 devices and
CM9
he wanted to see it it would work.
Personally, i don't know how to install CM9
which the cyanaboot stuff (aka i am lazy)
so if anyone of you guys could just test it, that would be more than wonderful
Seems to be running okay on CM9.
thank you very much
he will be really happy
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there anything in particular that he wants tested?

Mostly I just wanna see how it looks on that tablet. Anyway you can get me a screenshot? I had a feeling it would work though. Thanks!
Here you go. Only thing I'm noticing is the gray bar on the bottom of the screen. I'm sure he can fix that though.
thank you very much... i will message him
What he said
WHAT HE SAID
Hey thanks so much! This is really helpful. I am glad it's working properly. The grey bar actually had an ad on it and that is why its there. It looks like he's using an adblocker. This shouldn't be an issue in the full version though. If it's too intrusive then we might have to do something else. It looks fine on a 10" tablet though. It depends on demand.
I just tried it on my Galaxy Tab 7" running ICS and it works fine. The grey bar isn't intrusive. If you hide the categories (from the menu) then everything is spacious enough.
I didn't realize there was an ad there. It must have been showing while I wasn't looking. And I agree, it would definitely look nicer on a bigger screen, but that's what we get for buying 7 inch tablets!
Hi!
I'm an avid atrix user for some time now.
I browsed and tried most of the roms and mods available on the dev page.
I'm currently sticking with neut 2.6 CM7 rom and everything is splendid except for one thing;
When my phone is in the lapdock, the phone is mirrored quite well and even allows me to playback simple videos, however what bothers me is that it doesn't make use of the full resolution of the screen.
Is there some fix for it?
I tried the original webtop software and I can barely use it for web browsing, not to mention video playback.
Is there some kind of fix for that, some app or mod which I can use?
I tried all sorts of roms, CM9, CM7, MIUI and all sorts of official and modded official ones.
If there are none, what do we lack in terms of development?
It's one of the only things that still bother me with the Atrix.
Thank you for your patience and every piece of help is appreciated.

this is the closest I found, however it doesn't seem to work with nottachtrix, I might be doing something wrong.
Just picked up a new tab 10.1.
Flashed a few roms trying to find a favorite.
But... no honeycomb roms work for me.
I can flash the roms fine, they boot up and I can do everything. BUT as soon as I lock the screen and unlock it i cannot see anything, the screen just turns to lines and flickers.
I found one person with the problem but no answer.

ok, i have no ideea whats wrong
i have this problem with the screen getting garbled, very thin lines rolling (not the large rolling lines due to the cwm, ive had that too, but sorted that) when th p7500 enters sleep or if i push the sleep button.
ive tried everything i could think of. 2 versions of the last cwm. flashed stock(also the one with UE), then again the rom. flashed pershoot's kernel. nothing
ive even tried another custom rom, the same problem. the only ones that dont give me this problem are the cyan 9 ics custom builds (but they are too glitchy for my taste) ant the stock ones. any ideeas? i really like this rom, its smooth, id like to be able to use it
thanks

It solved the (same) problem on my italian tab
Each ROM try to have one or several boot animations: a cartoon or animated banner, whatever. I find it childist and sometimes non-sense.
I mean: who is powering-on a device and stay watching it while booting?
By the way, I preffer that standard Motorola with the M inside the circle instead of those full color...
... Maybe because M for Melvyn
Rebooting your phone is not a very fun and exciting experience, so why not at least try to make it more bearable with some pretty? By that token, why bother changing the boot logo too?
To each their own. If you're happy with your stock stuff, then by all means stick with it.
Counter-question: why the need for a new thread though? And in the wrong section too... Should be in Q&A, since it's a question.

It's all about customization. personally I like to change both the boot logo and animation. I fail to see why this is childish. I think your post however is!
Cheers!
I like the animation a lot. And honestly for me its part of the room experience.
Stock blur with the pulsing m, cm7 with the android and now epinters cm10 with the animated circle - they all give me this specific rom feeling. I dont see this as childish.
I dont quite get it either. The only reason I can think of is that you reboot your phone on a regular basis, in which case there's something wrong with it. I myself dont care so long as it doesnt make me somewhat embarrassed should my phone reboot. So over the life of my phone, I've used the stock Moto boot animation, the stock CM7 one (since it wasnt too bad) and the stock CM10 one. When on other roms and while on CM9, I removed it entirely to get the standard "ANDROID" text boot logo.
TL;DR version: the more flashy, the less I like it. The more minimalist or discrete, the better.

anyway, why does it bother you? hopefully you don't reboot your phone many times per day...
