Hi,
I once found a thread here concerning how to modify android so it does not send any data to google. It involved removing all kinds of system apps and freezing others and so on.
I could not find it again though - does anybody have a guide how to get this done?
No one got any idea?

I just got my Atrix yesterday, I seem to have the issue where it wont successfully log in to google talk which also means that I cant download apps. I've tried making a new account which also failed to work. Are there any ideas out there for how I could fix it?
Can anybody help me?
I had the same problem and figured out that it was Droid Wall keeping Gtalk from connecting. Make sure Talk can access the network freely.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Real solution

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...
Thank me later
For those who remember me from symbian s60v3 phones, yes, it is me, I'm back, and I've moved to the droid world, it's much better indeed
Let me just say, I have no idea why this thread was moved or resurrected. Whoever did so was about a year and a half too late. Please close/delete this thread.

Whenever I triy to download any Android application from Android Market, one message will appear like " There is no phones associated with this account". I tried many times, but the result was same.
All ready tried some techniques from other sites but did not work.
Can anybody tell me the working solution for this problem??
Also I was wondering why google made the things this much complicated.
Thanks in advance!!!

no need for big letters mate
maybe do a full wipe and try opening another account from the market that may work.
I assume you have a gmail address and have used it on the device to log in?
When you log into your Android Market account via your PC, using this gmail address, what do you see in My Market Account/Settings?
You should see a list of devices there under My Devices and a list including headers like
NICKNAME VISIBILITY MAKER MODEL CARRIER LAST USED, etc.
Sorry for using big letters. My intention was to get a quick attention.
Yes I used my gmail account thru my Device many times.
But under My devices, it shows "There are no Android devices associated with this account."
whether I should use some special application to associate my device.?
What version of Android Market do you have on your phone?
What ROM? Carrier?
Have you tried signing out, recovering your password and signing back in?

I suggest you simply do a factory restore, that will wipe most stuff on your phone but I guess it doesn't matter since it is a new phone.
Then make sure you enter correct gmail-account when requested after the factory restore (probably what got wrong the first time).
(settings->privacy->factory data reset)
I tried signing out, recovering your password and signing back in method before but it doesn't work.
Regarding ROM and carrier , I have no idea how to identify those things from my device.
Please advice me how to get those information.

Moving to Q&A
I've done everything I can think of to determine if this is a question that has been posed elsewhere - to no avail. Nothing quite seems to fit my predicament exactly (that I've found anyway - please feel free to flame/educate me if I have overlooked anything or am in the wrong thread) I am hoping you 1337 pros here on xda devs can help this poor self-loathing n00b. Apologies for the lengthy post - but it is necessary to explain my question.
I am attempting to develop an app (open source for personal use [no ads] - with enterprise edition available for a fee) that can remotely secure/locate an Android device - tablets, phones, etc -- targeted for anything running Froyo or better.
The problem I am running into is that I am unable to prevent a would-be thief from initiating a factory reset and removing the app (and it's configuration settings). I have device admin setup so that the permissions must be revoked after signing in with a username and password before the app can be uninstalled - but factory restore still wipes it.
As this would be a theft deterrent/recovery tool - relying on a thief to connect the device back to the original Google account and reinstall the apps is out of the question. I understand that if the ROM is replaced with a custom ROM (e.g. Cyanogen, etc.) it would not be able to prevent the app from being wiped - but negating the factory reset from removing the app would still be very beneficial.
Short of including the app in the manufacturer's ROM image - is there any work around to be found here? I'm at my wit's end (however limited that may be).
I am most grateful for any information you can provide - even if its bad news.
I have an LG Esteem running Android 2.3.4.
I went to change my ringtone went into settings, ringtones and get
the following message.
The application settings (process.com.android.settings) has stopped
unexpectedly. Please try again.
then force close.
I HAVE SEARCHED this forum for over 3 hours now to find a solution
but, to no avail.
If anyone has had this problem or know how to get it fixed Please Help!
My phone is rooted and I am using Backup Pro to backup all my apps and
data because all I've found is lots of people saying to do a factory reset.
This is not an ideal solution since everything works but, being able to
get into ringtones....even notification work......
Again, if anyone can help me that would be great!
David
Hello all,
I've searched the web and have only found solutions involving rooting and something called Cyanogenmod. Looks tricky. I'm fairly tech savvy and not totally opposed to doing this stuff, but I'd really really REALLY rather do this only as a final final last desperate resort. My only goal is simply to have Google Play up and running on my Android without rooting and putting on all sorts of fancy mods. Besides, I'm not even sure if there's a Cyanogenmod for my device. I looked and it's not in the list.
I recently got a Coby Kyros MID1042, Android 4.0 tablet. It doesn't come with Google Apps. I want to install Google Apps. I have tried doing this by using the APKs and installing manually. I found instructions on Youtube and downloaded some signed apks with Vending 3.3.12.
Things seemed to be fine until I clicked on Google Play in my apps tab, I was prompted to enter my Gmail account info, so I did. I got the message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google Servers to set up your account...", but after a few minutes, I got a message that says, "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server", followed by "Unforunately, Google ServicesFramework has stopped."
I have searched this and other forums and have come up with solutions that seem to involve something called "rooting", resetting and installing some MODs... I'd rather use rooting or modding as an absolute last resort. I'm wondering if there's any insight as to why I'm getting these messages, or if someone may be able to point me to a better .apk package. Thanks in advance!
search in the internet for a pakage called "gapps" (be sure u chose the right one cus theyre depending on the android version u use)
head to the recovery mode and flash them afterwards it should work
you dont need any root acces for this cus every phone got a recovery by stock rom
