Since the development section is becoming all too over saturated with general discussion. This thread is meant to help users of ICS 4.0.3 by Lupohirp. While this is a beta, I think that it's stable enough for anyone looking for the ICS experience to use daily.
NOTE: UNRESOLVED APN ISSUES WITH T-MOBILE (NO DATA, WIFI ONLY)
BETA 3 CHANGELOG:

OPTIONAL (Recommended) Kernel:
Franco3 kernel (2.35 kernel with kgsl drivers backported from 3.0 or 3.1 kernel)
Current bugs:
Please remember this is still in the early beta stages. It is stable enough to be used as a daily ROM, but there may be small issues. Please report them and I will update this thread with known bugs.

Stock browser has been known to glitch out ( Temporary Fix: Install Browser+ )

Thanks guys. Could you guys post general tips / settings / issues that aren't covered in my initial post so that I can update this thread?
Like battery life, Personal preferences of Governors and Overclock frequency, etc

Unfortunately not, I just installed it earlier today to test it out as an alternative to Opera. Browser+ does work well and it is the one I'm currently using.

Updated... I didn't know there was a Franco Kernel for ICS. I just flashed it, and it's much smoother than the original kernel that came preinstalled (of course it is a Franco Kernel so that's pretty much expected)

Not yet, current release is build for armv7, but perhaps someone builds a version for armv6 when all code is merged into Chromium.

It's a kernel Lupohirp build using Franco's sources.
If I'm right it this version will be stock kernel for next beta-release.

Yeah I figured that. Franco isn't developing for Optimus One anymore as far as I know, But I'm glad that Lupohirp modified Franco's kernel.

Good idea. I'm liking ICS Browser+ so far. Stock browser is usually the first thing I drop with a new rom. Great job Arjen!!

Yes I am using T-Mobile (Optimus T) and have had no issues with it.
Is that so...ill try it out...one last question...its not a good idea to flash back to v10e while still running cm9 ? Wouldn't you first have to flash an old BB rom than flash the old baseband

I flashed new baseband first, then did a clean install of CM9.
If you flashed back to OldBB while using CM9 you shouldn't have any Data or Phone Signal.

The base rom is a stock froyo that is the bare minimum... the smallest downloadable working rom for our x10 devices. You can also download the cm6 version or just add cm6 with a 4mb recovery zip. Want arc launcher and timescape then just flash the zip over the cm6 rom or the aosp rom. Doesn't matter wich rom you use you can keep the data from the other roms in this thread as they are all based on the same rom.
First up for grabs is the overdriveFROYO rom wich is an AOSP froyo 2.2.1 rom
this rom is bare and has been given the updated treatment of freexperia recovery, busybox and su in the xbin, all unrelated files have been excluded from bin, libs, xbin. Even though this rom is a small download of under 60mb it still has market and other basic apps included in it so you can download what ever apps you like. It also has some x10project tweaks and looks to it.. this is far from optimized but is fast, smooth, and reliable. it is NOT on a kernel and are different roms for different base bands so read and flash the correct rom for baseband, it cobratos baseband changes can be used to change the baseband on the rom to match what ever baseband you are on or like on your phone (the froyo bb change, not the cm7 bb change). Again credits to j and z for there work wich most roms are based from.
The next up for grabs is a basic CM6 rom that you can download the full rom or just update the aosp with a small 4mb install in recovery menu. Once again this rom in full is less then 60mb for a download and is fast and light.
I believe everything is working for the most part. I will update what is and is not working after you all get the pleasure of testing it out. I don't use private testers as this is xda, a development site. All of you on this site are a part of my rom development .
1. first download rom from the second post (please do not mirror)
updated fix for app installs
2. then make sure you have recovery menu installed
3. wipe cache, wipe data, wipe dalvik (in recovery)
4. install through recovery and reboot
5. wait for it to reboot or use dev tools to crash the system server
6. use and report happiness or bugs

hey buddy great job!!!
just one question:
whts the main difference between this and FreeX10?
cause FreeX10 is already clean AOSP build...
keep up ur good work!
Smaller.. less files... different settings... changed some things... kinda like freex10 on a diet... and freex10 was already small.. free x10 was 61mb with no apps.. this is 56mb w some apps... juast making the great free x10 better as i aleays thoufht it was the best froyo rom
Figured id work on a reliable daily rom to always fo back to from other roms... and i have some unfinished froyo roms i just wanted to finish up

Mine does!!!!!!!
Dualboot into 2.1 to get stock camera heheheheheh
2.3.3+2.1 = 4.4.3
Fancy
I have a few questions, however:
Does it work with the latest .67 baseband?
Why does it have the CM Settings from CM 6.xx? This being 2.3.4, you could've introduced the CM Settings from CM 7.xx branch. Again, this is just a question - simply out of curiosity.
Does it have the new CM 7 Theme chooser app? If it doesn't, does it support installation of the same? Personally I can't do without the lovely MattedBlues theme, or the CyanBread theme
And finally, which version of xRecovery does it contain?
I'm chuggin' along on a 2.3.4 MIUI currently, but I'd certainly love to give this a shot. Cheers fellas!

No it doesn't work with the latest BB .67
I just wanted to make something new a gingerbread with cm6
No theme engine will be added in future release SPOILER !!!

This might seem like repeat, but 22 posted his reply while I was typing mine, so we ended up in this awkward situation.

Well, we haven't tried with that baseband yet, because of a complication on 22's X10. Personally, I don't have an answer for all of your questions, because 22 was the one getting the CM settings here, but I'm guessing its because CM 7 doesn't work very well with the X10 that we used (I don't own an X10, I have a DHD ).
We have never tried using the CM 7 Theme choose app on this ROM, and thats really because we're trying to get the T-Mobile Theme engine running on this.
Hope that helps.

Ive got it installed, it seems faster So big thanks for this update mate!
Before I explain how I installed it, from what ive seen in the last 2mins of running it the lockscreens a bit different and the phone loads alot faster. Weather its just the fresh, new rom feeling im not sure but I like it and its worth the upgrade.
I downloaded this
FXP030b - http://hotfile.com/dl/131616192/e78db6a/cm-7.1.0-Xperia-X10i-KANG.7z.html
Once unzipped you only want to use the Flashtool folder, ignore the rest. You dont need to flash any of the roms etc using your phone (from this zip). We only needed the flashtool from that zip. Simply use flashtool to flash the included loader and kernel (basically flashing this adds clockworkmod required to install the new spartamod rom and it also adds the required kernel)
Reboot the phone and press volume down, this loads the clockworkmod.. if you were like me I only had xrecovery before installing this update, so it was new. Its pretty much the same as xrecovery though.
Now factory reset, wipe cache etc and now install update-cm-Sparta-RC0-es209ra-ultraKANG
NOTE: xrecovery doesnt work to flash this rom (SpartaMod)
Reboot and enjoy

People that say 'first'.
I am assuming since this is aosp it doesn't have cyanogenmod settings. The only one I like is led color setup..
Any way too make that a flashable zip since this is built on cyanogenmod.
Idea: flashable zip for cyanogenmod settings. Hmm then it would be exactly same as your other rom.?

+1 on that. Rom is great, but it'll be nice to have the option to flash that in order to edit LED lights and the status widget and the lock screen. But non the less a great rom and smooth as hell, keep up the great work.
Doing that would really break the purpose of this ROM ...
But if u need it that much
I could create a flashable zip
There is really no use
If u want it , you can get z mod
Or freexperia cm7
Zdzihu made freex10 2.2.1 based on cm6,
That doesn't mean u ask him to add cm settings etc . He just wanted it to be light and I want it to
Ask some developer to mod this into cm7

I for one would LOVE to be able to drop CM 7.1 settings (a recent nightly) onto this rom. the only CM7.1 ROMs we have all have issues and 7.0.3 is missing a few key features I really like.
will be downloading it tonight, thanks for the hard work buddy
Ok, i have been running this rom along with Dooms v05 dual recovery kernel and it is fast, i like the idea that it is light as this is exactly what i like, i have added theme chooser and it's working great, in fact i have not had any issues yet with anything.
Well done spaarc, this is my personal favourite so far.
Here's theme chooser for those wanting it....

This ROM has taken me about 90 hours (!!!) over three (or so) weeks to develop. 95% of it is my original work - it was quite difficult because MIUI-GB is based on CM7 but this is stock-based. If you enjoy it I really appreciate the donations so I can keep putting time into Xperia 2011 series
Features
Based on 2.3.4 stock GB firmware with ~90% of framework backported from 2.3.7 AOSP
- Some framework code must remain at 2.3.4 e.g. webkit (web browser) core
MIUI packages and resources from 2.4.20 (GB) for Desire S
Touchpad and Xperia controller fully working
Framework modded with "Suave HD Redone" theme with my own fixes and improvements, big thanks to collins521 (donate to him)
xLOUD native
Four-way reboot
- To see Phone options menu, either set Toggles to Compact or hold power on Lockscreen
Hold volume to skip tracks mod
Multiboot aware (of course)
Play Store and Services updated to latest versions
MIUI Browser, Music, and many other bloat apps removed (use your own from Play Store)
Disabled scrolling cache
Disabled package signature comparison (test-sign system APK's)
Replaced Deskclock and File Explorer with modded MIUI apps by apooonet (donate to him)
System font replaced with Xperia SoMa font, scaled to 70%
Status bar height reduced a little
Turbo OOM/ADJ/LMK tuning
Adreno and EGL libraries from CM7
Adreno Booster v0.1 integrated
Bugs
No Camera (yet)
MIUI Traffic Stats/Firewall not implemented (unsupported on stock firmware base)
'Font Size' option in Settings broken (unsupported on stock firmware base) (will be removed in later release)
Wifi > Advanced > Regulatory Domain broken (unsupported on stock firmware base) (will be removed in later release)
Maybe some light-on-light or dark-on-dark text issues somewhere, please report!
Probably more minor things, please report!
Screenshots
The above Antutu score is from Turbo Kernel. LuPuS GB is a better performer and will achieve over 7000.

It's the truth Turbo Kernel is mainly so we can multiboot and uses latest FXP graphics code for Jellybean to work, which unfortunately makes GB a little slower. It's still better than JB for 3D gaming, but needs an overclock to get a stock-like experience. LuPuS GB is supreme for heavy gaming.

Odd, I have full service
Try to send me a full logcat, from boot. Keep logcat running until you enter the phone - then enable Flight Mode, then disable it again - then stop logcat.
Cooool....
ill try when i get time.

Nope, haven't ported it over because I can't test it on Turbo Kernel. Will be fixed eventually.

I tried a million times to get logcat from initial boot but failed. here's the log while phone was booted and the airplane mode on/off. My xperia play is an AT&T phone but I use a straighttalk sim. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. I've wiped everything and re-installed and still no service. hope this helps any way.
Can anybody else say if service is working or not for them? Also list your model and baseband.
Me:
Working fine, R800a - whatever the baseband is from .62 FTF.

The Line Endings are borked in that log file, I can't read that lol. Make sure you pipe it straight out to a text file and don't edit it before uploading.
Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt
Add it to a ZIP before uploading, incase it's the XDA site or my Firefox browser messing it.
To get a logcat from boot, do the logcat command with the device unplugged (will say "Waiting for device"). Then reboot phone, wait for the ROM boot logo to appear after kernel logo, *then* insert USB.

I don't know yet. It relies on some native methods that only exist in stock firmware (code inside the lib files). If I can replicate/reverse engineer them, or simulate them from scratch, then yes. I will write a new touchpad/gamepad fix that can be applied direct to source builds or via a ZIP patch.
But I won't be able to start work on it until after I get my Linux machine repaired.
I don't have any service either. Installed in slots 2 with wipe before. R800i
Looks absolutely beautiful Dan =)

You didn't tell me your baseband version.
I just did a factory reset, and I still have coverage and can make calls fine! So I still need a logcat from boot.
Please tell me also what kernel you are using. Me:
R800a, Turbo Kernel v3.1, Baseband 64 (baseband = last two digits in Settings > About > Baseband version)
Ooofft... I've got to admit I've also been looking forward to this.
When you get a moment Dan, could you provide a few more screenshots please? I.e. For the launcher/app drawer? Or someone else who has the ROM installed... Doesn't have to be Dan. ><

Intellidemand gov. now available <------USE IT!
You can dirty flash this over 4-24 NOT 4-22
-->flash rom and gapps(again) and then wipe dalvik and cache
4-24
YOU MUST DO A CLEAN INSTALL!!!!
-Kernel
-->revert back to older hot-plugging, more stable for now. The previous method will be worked on and re-integrated when its ready!
-->changed some of the hot-plugging rules
-Synced with Liquid
-cleaned up some files in other repos
4-22
-Kernel from synergy tweaked to work with liquid
----> This setup does not use md-precision like most others, so unless otherwise specified (like above) do not flash any other kernel!!!
----> My tweeks to the kernel mean that you will not get the same performance as with CFX due to toolchain incomplatability issues <----i may try to fix this later on but no promises.....BUT its still awesome!!!!!
----> also wifi and this kernel may or may not work with other roms.....just know YMMV
Repo synced with all the sources
How to install:
1.)Wipe --- factory reset, cache and dalvik http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124765

I have been running the Apr-17-13 build since you released it. I just wanted to let you know I have only noticed one small bug. When you enable expanded desktop and rotate the screen to landscape (in the browser for example), then exit and go into an application that is only portrait mode (Netflix, Flipboard, Faux123 are a few examples), the orientation is locked in landscape mode. This can be corrected by going into another app (browser for example), going into portrait mode and locking the rotation. This is the only bug I have seen so far, and it is not a major one by any means.
Again, thanks for the great rom.
