I have Groove IP installed and configured with Google chat and Google voice so that I can send and receive phone calls on my View. I wanted to setup my Google voice as my voicemail service on my phone. But if I do this I can no longer send and receive calls on my tablet. Is there anyway around this or can I get a second Google voice number to use with my phone?
You can get a second number for your phone with a different gmail address. One gv number per gmail address. I have numerous gmail addresses so I have one set up for my phone and one set up for my tablet.

My Evo View was a huge help in the last election. I used it at our State headquarters when the other phones were tied up.

This is really working well for me, I talked on the plane today to my wife via Gogo and Groove! I a, not sUre why the first post needs to go through all those extra steps. I have google voice on my cell and my tablet
I love Groove IP and Google Voice, but I find the audio delay to be very annoying especially in conference calls. The delay is 2 to 4 seconds. So i use Skype for calls now , and the delay is not even noticeable on Skype. But its not free for calls to phones.

Google seems to be fairly devoid of any useful information about the specifics of S-Voice. I was wondering if we've started anything like a FAQ for S Voice around here yet?
S Voice seems to be full of hidden or not so easy to find options. For example, my fiance and I both got Galaxy 3's at the same time. After messing around with the phones for several hours we got to the point where whenever she received a text message or call, S Voice would announce that person's name (EX: Incoming call from Samantha) while mine did not. It took us about 5 days to figure out this had to do with driving mode.
Driving mode: Incoming calls and new notifications will be read out automatically:
You can toggle driving mode by double tapping the home key and telling S-Voice "Driving mode on/off" or by going to Settings-->Language and input-->Text-to-speech output-->Driving Mode
What tips/tricks/Easter Eggs have you come across so far?
Great idea for a thread. Seems the voice apps never have very complete documentation on what you can do.
settings, language and input, then turn on voice cmd for apps,
now you can say answer or reject a call, say cheese to take a picture, say snooze to the alarm and control you music by saying next, previous etc etc
don't forget to hit the Thanks Button if I help you
Cool...one caveat: works on only certain apps. For example, this does not work on in Mixzing, but does work on the Stock Music Player.
Kudos to Samsung or Vlingo for this, I'm a big fan of Hitchhikers Guide so today when I asked S Voice "What is the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything?" I was pleasantly surprised by its thrifty response.

Hi everyone,
I currently have my sprint number setup with google voice, and I'm using google voice to manage my number. I have multiple greetings for work, meetings and stuff and I found out that there's no feature to schedule certain greetings to play on the website.
Does anybody know of a work around to do this, or an app for android that can set a schedule and change the greetings directly from my phone?
Thanks.
Nothin, huh?
None that I know of. I searched around and was unable to find anything.

groov,
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but you can edit greetings by going into Contacts and selecting one, which brings up this screen:

}
Then click on Edit Google Voice Settings and you get this screen:
It allows you to record new greetings or select from existing ones. If that's not what you meant, don't mind me. I often get confused.
And don't you guys harass my locksmith!

Thanks, but what I'm trying to do is have my greetings switch around at certain times. Oh well...manual it is.
Makes sense, I don't have a clue.

There's very few voicemail services that provide such a feature.
Been searching for this all morning with no luck.
Got given the bosses Galaxy S2 last week, so did a factory reset then an OTA update to 4.0.3 then started playing and setting it up for work use. I am using the inbuilt email program for my work POP3 account and the gmail program for the gmail account, viewing both through the combined email viewer - all working fine.
However, when I receive after hours voice mail messages from work, which send as a .wav file, the attachments wont show up, ie when viewing the email there is no attachments tab. If I try to forward the message, sure enough the attachment is there and visible and openable. All other attments seem to be showing OK (as in documents, PDF's, etc) just not the .wav files.
Is there a security setting or something somewhere that needs changing?
Well General is not the place where you stick questions. Moved to Q&A.
Sorry about that, thanks for relocating for me.
Further to the mystery, I mentioned if I try to forward the email I can now see the attachment in my outgoing message, well I decided to send the forward and the message that comes in now has the attachment visible...
This is what I mean - this is an incoming message where the attachment is not showing and no way of finding it -

Whereas this one that was received same as above, but then simply forwarded back to myself - now the attachment is visible so it was obviously always there
Bump!! Anyone?
I am getting the voice mails redirected to my gmail account today to see if it makes any difference.
This has been driving me crazy for many months now. Group texts show up blank on my phone, Lumia 920 AT&T, from just one single person. Regular non group texts show up just fine. Even weirder I can see picture messages from this person that include text.
This didn't always happen. One day out of nowhere they just started coming in blank a few months ago.
In a group text consisting of around 10 different people, all with different phones and mobile carriers, his texts show up fine for them. I'm the only person who receives blank texts from that one single person. Makes me think it's something on my end...
The person's group texts I can't see is using an HTC One on Sprint, if that makes any difference.
Things I've tried unsuccessfully:
Restart the phone
Delete ALL texts from phone
Tried manual MMS APN
If anyone has ideas I'm all ears. Getting sick and tired of this.
PS: I miss android with a passion.
Well this is interesting. Found out a friend has a Lumia 1020 and also receives blank group texts from that same person. What is going on? No one else has a Windows Phone, just the two of us.
Again I can see pictures from that person in a group text, including the text with it. Regular group texts come in blank from that one person.
Problem with Windows Phone 8?

Just the other day I stopped getting sound or vibration notification for my SMS. That's the only thing I'm not getting. The only thing I did was unsubscribed from the Verizon web access to sync my SMS. From there, I've tried changing the sound but no avail. Any suggestions?

What other mods if any have you done? Any xposed modules?

I've noticed this with messages sent to my Google Voice number. They'll pop-up in Hangouts on my desktop right away but I'll wait and wait and never seem to get a notification on the phone (though I get impatient and pick it up after about a minute and then as soon as I unlock the phone it decidesd to notify me.)
I thought it was maybe a Hangouts bug since they just integrated it with GV but maybe it's a G3 issue? I'm not rooted. The only real change I've made on the phone was replacing the stock launcher with Google Now Launcher.
This is what I have installed, but had no problem with them all enabled

I am using Hangouts as my default app but my changing it doesn't matter.

go to your messaging app and hit the menu button and look at the settings in there, my vibrate was off.
