Yes, you are right about everything...
Hello one question.
If I unlock bootloader will then phone make a factory reset?
And after flash kernel, can I lock bootloader again and keep root?

I am not sure about the factory reset.(I have never tried it)
After flashing kernel, you can relock the bootloader, and keep root.
Ok I can answer myself....Unlocking does a facotry reset......fun....
Nice logo in the boot, where does it come from?

Thanks for the kernel!
Does it support call recording like FreeXperia kernels?
This Kernel is support the CIFS?
Includes modules (for example cifs.ko)?

Pity that it doesn't support call recording. Could you make support for call recording in future version?
thanx buddy
can you tell me what're the things that you add into this kernel that makes it different from the stock kernel? thanks btw.

As long as hardware is concerned, there is no change.
The kernel just has root,CWM,init.d support,it's insecure and debuggable.
Thanks for sharing.
i will give this a try, an updated stock kernel with recovery...
this is going to be great.
Fastbooted it and can successfully enter CWM, but cannot access root privileges, why?

Good day, XDA. I'd like to ask help with regards to rooting my Xperia S. I have recently bought this and it got shipped with ICS 4.0.4 and build number 6.1.A.0.45 and I updated its build number to 6.1.A.2.45. I have also unlocked its bootloader successfully. Now I'm having problems on how to root this. I've read certain posts regarding ICS rooting and they all state that it has to have 6.1.A.0.45 build number. But I don't know how to rollback to the previous build number. What should I do?? Please help..
Ciaossu!~
Just flash Advanced stock kernel v14 by arakmar via fastboot.
What will it let me achieve then, bro?
BTW, thanks for the reply.

I am in the exact situtation as you. I too bought my Xperia S last week and have updated to the latest firmware. As this is my first Android phone, I have no clue how to move forward.
I would be glad if you post your findings. Thanks.

Thanks for the link. but the link you gave is for GB and I am on ICS already. (I know, there is a way to flash to GB but... ) I will better wait for a perfect way for rooting a device with ICS on locked BL installed.
BTW, here
Also, you can never brick your device on LOCKED bootloaders so don't worry
DId he mean unlocked bootloader?

Yea, i too hope someday someone will develop a way to root so that you don't have to go back to GB !!
Only for unlocked bootloader... here is a step by step I put together using the information gathered from various threads here in XDA.. I have used this very same method for my phone, so it is definitely working.. if you run into any problem like not being able to get into the Fastboot mode, or I missed some file, let me know..

Thanks for this bro! I'll try this out later when I get home. Will my data be lost?
So essentially you are just replacing a stock kernel by a rooted kernel. What if I want to go back to the unrooted kernel?

Yes, which is why ROM developers don't release different versions for a or i, as its essentially irrelevant.

I mean is there any possible way to root this device? I tried flashing SuperSU, didn't work. Then I tried flashing the systemmode SuperSU, got stuck in the bootloader warning text. I also tried some pre rooted Roms from the forum.. and they just won't boot. What am I missing here..??

I didn't. I had no clue what it was. I just flash recovery n install the SuperSU file with it on other phones.
Now I'll try rooting it once the nougat arrives.

Nougat could introduce more issues (e.g. Xposed doesn't work with Nougat as of today... Magisk & SuperSU... who knows?) but in theory steps should be the same...
More: this is unknown to most (and I don't have a clear explanation for it... only some hypothesis...) but even TWRP could have issues...
On another phone I've found (only one time to be honest... ) that an updated firmware required an updated TWRP to have it working (older one simply doesn't booted anymore even if reflashed...)

I don't like OTAs at all... I'll prefer going with flashing full images by fastboot (if stock images) or TWRP (if custom ROMs or zip flashable version of stock images...).
They are safer and cleaner than OTAs...

@enetec
Are you able to restore all the changes you made to /system, to successfully install the next OTA-update?
Or you just reflash the whole stock image before the next ota?

Probably it could be possible to restore all as stock from my backups, but I will surely update (when I'll decide to...) using fastload or TWRP (depending of image formats...) as you said...
Hi all,
I am looking for a dump of the recovery partition for the MYA-L11.
I have installed twrp but neglected to take a dump of the stock recovery!
There is an firmware update possibly due for my device so I want to be able to revert to stock when it becomes available.
Thanks in advance.
Edit:
Ok, my bad! Not possible of course, as one would need to be rooted to do this and to root one needs a custom recovery!!
Ok then does anyone know where I can download the stock firmware for this device? I have searched high and low but no firmware yet available!
Found it here thanks to @SGS3_0, again!

It is save stock recovery for updates. It'work. I tested.

"Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted ??" - it's just a picture in "logo.bin". I've relaced it to anoher picture... in my "logo.bin".
"and he automatically reboot and same evrything again did" - I haven't this problem. Try to update firmware or re-flash ur phone by SP flashtool...
Anyone wants to see a custom kernel for the SM-N980F here?
First testers are needed. I already have a version to test.
For continuous developement support would be appreciated for sure too.
No one able to test the first build? Lame!
I will test it, just help me get oem unlock on my device. I have the 980f and I have tried setting my date different and all that manipulate software update. None of it works. I don't see it at all and I was on 2.5 now I'm on 3 with Jan sec patch. Any help is appreciated.
