Hello everybody
I need a little help to a friend of mine who mistakenly deleted systemui.apk from the system using root permissions on his Transformer Prime
Now the system doesn't boot up, it gets stuck when reaches the ASUS mark.
So if anyone can show me a way to get back to the stock firmware, that'd be much appreciated. The device is rooted.
I've Searched the forums for a solution but found nothing that directly gives me a solution
Thank you.
if you plug it into the cpu does it come up?
I have a similar problem that I just posted. I renamed my /system/bin folder by accident and I'm stuck on Eee Pad screen too. Been looking and trying data wipe, n reset, nothing so far. Need to know if there is a way to access the file system b/c all I have to do is change the name of a damn folder. Sounds like you just need to copy n paste the missing file too.
This will require setting up your computer - drivers & ADB environment - and pushing some commands to your tablet that way ... I would think. Since we have no unlocked bootloader you can't boot into recovery.
Yeah, you're going to have to adb push the systemui.apk to /system/app
But that's only is you can even get adb to recognize your device while it's in the bootloop.... When I pushed my de-odexed framework folder and rebooted, I got stuck in endless bootloop, and the device wouldn't get to the point where adb would be able to see my device, therefore I couldn't push anything.
Also tired to put the ASUS recovery blob .13 .zip file on my micro sd card (since I couldn't access my main /sdcard on the Prime... that still didn't work... Long story short, Amazon is replacing my Prime, b/c it just stopped working ... now I just have to wait 4-6 weeks until they get new ones in stock (hopefully they get them sooner than that).
So Can any one of you guys get me these two filse from his Transformer prime
systemui.apk
systemui.opex
At least it is worth the try.
Replacing the Tablet is not an option because the guy shipped his tablet to another country it would be very painful to try to send it back to amazon.
Hi everyone, I accidentally my systemui.apk. Is this safe?
Loljk, you should be able to get it working i hope.

DELETED SymstemUI for ASUS Memopad 8
Hi,
I DELETED SymstemUI for ASUS Memopad 8 but I was able to save a backup in the external MicroSD card of my tab. Is there anyway that I can push this back to the system?
I'm still a noob and I am hoping that there's anyone who can help me.

Hi all.
I recently acquired a Trio M4302 4.3 inch Internet Tablet to try Android out, being a long time iOS user. My question is this. I'm looking for a way to a.) Get Google Play running on here, and b.) either flash a phone ROM or to turn on phone mode in ICS because the tablet interface is just too big for this little screen.. does anyone know of anything? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,
I just picked this tablet up. I have successfully rooted it and have installed a working Play Store. I now have access to all my apps that I use on my Galaxy Note 10.1.
To root I used the instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Once I had root I wanted to get Google Play Store on the tab. I found a couple of places that had information concerning adding Play Store to other devices and kind of pieced the info together to come up with this solution.
1. Download gapps for ICS. http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
2. Unzip file
3. Navigate to the " System/app " folder and find "phonesky.apk and setupwizard.apk"
(You will need to copy these two files to your tablet)
4. Once files are on tablet use something like "Root Explorer" to copy both to the "system/app" folder of the tablet.
(The folders will need to be mounted as "R/W" so they can be written to )
5. After the files are copied to the proper folder, you need to edit the permissions for both.
6. In "Root Explorer" long press on each file and choose "permissions"
7. Edit permissions to read "Owner: Read, Write" "Group: Read" "Others: Read"
8. Reboot and launch Play Store
Hope it works for you!

My Trio won't boot
It doesn't boot after enabling quickboot.
EDIT: Wait... I just flashed the Allwinner A10 ROM. I hope it works. Boot takes very very long and will not end in looping!
EDIT 2: It works... the touchscreen just didn't work and freezes when loading with SD Card.
NOW I DON'T HAVE A STOCK ROM FOR TRIO! I SPENT $60 FOR A BRICKED DEVICE!

8:44 - Oh crap... Boot animation froze. WHAT DID I DO!?!?
8:45 - Bootloop confirmed.

Contact the manufacturer and maybe they can help. I just rooted and kept the stock rom. Sorry for your misfortune.

I'll try. I just flashed CM9 for AllWinnerTablets. I said I burned it just for expressing my emotion. I'll try to get a replacement or return it.
EDIT: I'll TRY to return it. But I'll see if I can replace it first, since it's on a one-year warranty. I have a reciept and kept it safe.
Don't know about Walmart, but you could try to return it

I own a rooted Asus Transformer Prime TF201 table with JB 4.1.1 (original), and have probably done something stupid... please help this Noob, as I've read so much when looking for answers the last 2 days -- now I'm thoroughly confused! (To tell the truth, wasn't that great of a root user before...)
My tablet won't get beyond "Launcher has stopped" error when booting.
I rooted several months ago, installed a custom bootloader graphic (still works), SuperSU, ROM Manager and some other rooted apps. I had flashed cyanogen rom "9" (I think) -- the stable one for Asus -- and was running fine. I thought I had done a nandroid backup (file on SD card).
Then I created my problem: I had messed around with the LED settings via ROM Manager, and then I think I changed the build.prop file value for VM heap stack from 256 to 512 ("governor" settings?). (I know, I know -- used to mess around a little with PCs and I should have known better what I was doing!)
Now I can't get homescreens or launch apps, or anything. "Launcher has stopped"
I can power off and power on (using power + volume buttons). My custom bootloader image comes into view after the ASUS logo -- but next I get the "Asus Keyboard is not installed" message with the "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped" message on top of that. Pressing the OK buttom just blinks and back to the errors.
I *can* get get to the settings, though.
Is a new tablet in my future?
Can anyone help me undo this mess I've made?? Help for the Noobs! Oh, and THANK YOU in advance for the trouble!
Hey!
Can you access the recovery mode? If yes:
1. Download the zip file attached to this post;
2. Put the holo.zip file in your sdcard;
3. Enter in recovery mode and flash the zip;
4. Reboot system;
5. Now you get Holo Launcher in your tablet!
Can't See Asus tablet from PC
Thanks for confirming that I am going about trying to fix this in the 'right' way!
I had never installed the SDK / android bridge to my Windows Vista 32-bit PC -- and I did that a couple days ago.
But I am not able to get root connected to the Asus. It shows as MTP device and I can see the sd card (also via Explorer in Windows)
I feel so dumb but I think the tablet can be rescued, if only I knew what to do!
Can you help me -- start from the beginning and help me get my Asus tablet working again??

Sorry, I didn't see your post before.
Why don't you flash the ROM again?
I mean the custom one.

Hello everyone, i recently purchased one of these from newegg at a reasonable price, but I can't seem to find rom's for them anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas on where to look, i've been hunting on google for hours. It's currently running 4.2.2
Kernel 3.0.36+
Firmware: CT9706_RK610
Im not sure what else to do. I would hate to have to stick with stock considering it's a little laggy with the junk that they piled onto it. Not to mention i know it has the chinese OS installed on it. Luckily i WAS able to root it, and even get cwm installed on it, but i have no rom to flash to it as of yet. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Soft Bricked Taipad 10s
I have this tablet, and was able to root it, and all was fine until I realized that it was not utilizing the Nandflash. The internal storage was full, and the Nand was empty (ish). SO i decided (as a newb) to pull the boot.img, edit the init.rk3066.rc and attempt to re-route the emulated storage to /mnt/sdcard. Recreated the new_boot.img, and pushed it and cat to mtdblock2 as i got it..(correct base address) - and reboot takes it to recovery. over and over.
I am looking for a rom that will work, from what i find CWR and CWM are a no go due to stopped development, but im still searching. There must be a similar tablet somewhere.
Oh and b4 the softbrick i used to get adb shell cmd line "[email protected] #" or something like that - now i only get "#" - so i could not cat the original boot.img - yay fail.

Do either of you still have the original firmware for the Taipad 9X? I've essentially bricked mine by loading an incompatible firmware and would love to get back to the original.
I'd be willing to pay a small fee to get it.

while in recovery, you can use ADB to transfer files to prime from PC via data cable. look for ADB PUSH here on forums

You need to make sure sure you have all the Android files installed on your PC which I am sure you do. Also, you need to specify where the pac_tf201 build is located. This is what I did to push the version onto my TF201 in Recovery:
adb push c:/pac_tf201_4.3.Build-1_20131003.zip /sdcard/
I did the same with gapps but I made sure that both zip files (rom and gapps) were directly on my C drive and not anywhere else. Let me know if you need anymore help as I just barely did this a few days ago. Took me hours to get it but I have learned quite a bit from it. :good:
Edit: Make sure your directory is pointed to your sdk platform-tools folder as well in CMD.

What would you plan on doing or what does anyone do with a hardbricked Prime as I am curious? Sorry to hear it.
It happens I have done roms for years from droid one to note2 never had a issue till now it was my own mistake so... I guess nothing to do but trash it prob going today to get Samsung note 8 or 10.1

Do you by any chance have Asus sync running on your pc? It seems that this can interfere with adb.
Try killing all asus related programs on your pc through task manager and then try adb push again.

This is what I'm curious about too. If there were photos on this SD card before you put it in the device, they will remain intact after a security wipe.
This is unclear to me based on the OP: You got the Bold as a graduation gift and would like to start using it i assume. (I also got this bold a couple days ago after my HTC One S died, bringing me to Blackberry after years of faithful service on Android. The 9900 is a great phone)
When you tried to use the phone, you were prompted to input your BBID credentials, which subsequently failed repeatedly. The phone has since been security wiped due to too many failed attempts. Upon opening the phone, the microSD that you had in there is gone.
Hey guys, i figure this might be a longshot but if anyone has or know someone who has an android rearview mirror ie: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/201130187577?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
If you could take 5 minutes and copy some of your files using adb, you might save me from having turned my android mirror into a paperweight.
adb pull system/framework d:\files\framework
I ran some scripts and i accidentally nuked some files without having made a backup (smart i know..) i'm pretty sure the culprit is framework-res.apk but just in case the command pulls the whole framework folder.
Thanks!

It has a weird launcher forced into it, that cannot be replaced as far as i can tell and has an app fireeye.apk that also boots and is forced into memory. I tried to get a different launcher to work, but their interface is modified and the home button is not really a homebutton, but is hardlinked to their launcher. Trying to bypass that i managed to screw it up, also no fastboot, it uses livesuit for restore and as far as i can tell no chance of flashing the cm for allwinner as it has a really weird partition set. I'm kinda stuck.
I have one
I have 2 of these and I am interested in helping you. what do I need to do to get you a copy of the files on it?
Recovery???
How did you get it into recovery mode??? i messed something up and it wont go pass the Android logo!
Sorry to dig up an old thread.
I have one of these dashcams and the fireeye app keeps freezing on me. its really annoying. Until yesterday i have put up with it by resetting the device. Yesterday i was invloved in a minor car accident only to realise that the fireeye app had frozen again and did not get a recording of the accident. would have come in usefull.
Has anyone had problems with the fire eye app freezing and have you figured out a a way around this?
Hoping someone can help
