gamepad (usb or bluetooth)? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if there are some gamepads available for the x10 (like the game gripper for the milestone)?
I already looked around a bit but couldn't find anything usefull...

Google "OnLive" or "iControlPad". You can play on emulators with blueatooth keyboards too, there's a lot of them.

if you have a non integrated motion plus wii remote get the app from the market and see how it works on your phone..

Thanks for the suggestions, ill steal my GFs wii controller

app for phone https://market.android.com/details?...sixaxiscontroller&feature=more_from_developer
and some info & guide http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/about.html

I'll switch over to my ps3 controller then, hate that wii crap.. Thanks mate!

I've been using my ps3 controller for months I love it. It works great via bluetooth. I'd recommend it

[Request] PS3 Controller For Motorola Atrix?

I figured with the Webtop-over-HDMI hack now up and running, why not try to get a console controller, other than the WiiRemote, working to play games on Android. Full screen PS emulator with a side of PS3 controller would be nice via Webtop.
As I've been reading, I keep hearing that that Android doesn't have a kernel to support BT pairing.
What do you guys think?
As far as pairing, it is possible. There is an app called BlueputDroid that is in early beta stages, but it works. It works as a touchpad/keyboard for the PS3.
I have read the same thing in regards to the bt stack not being compatible but I don't believe it. It would be great to control my ps3 dvd playback from my phone.

I think the original poster wanted the opposite of what you guys are replying about... he wants to use his bluetooth PS3 controller as a gaming controller to control games running on his Atrix.
Don't know if what you guys want is possible but I would think that would be a lot easier through a network interface than bluetooth... have you explored the DLNA tools? You should in theory be able to control the PS3 through DLNA commands.
Sorry for the threadjack.

This is correct. I work a desk job and emulators on my phone are what keep me from losing my mind. A PS3 controller is a preference, but a controller that works will suffice.

The WII remote works as seen in a couple videos. Could grab one of those, and you'd be good to go.
off topic, kinda, but would a 360 remote ever work with the Atrix?

Bluetooth controller have posibilities
I would certainly be interested in this as well!
This is what I got...its the retro controller for wii but it doesnt need to connect to a wiimote, and it works with the wiimote android app
http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Retro-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B001ULJGDU
good luck finding one though, I had to import mine for like 40 bucks from codemasters, but that was a while ago.

The problem is not the kernel or BT stack.
Someone has to decrypt what the codes are that are sent on button press into an input method. (See WiiMote Controller apk for an example). On top of that, the app requires the ability to pull the pairing code from the ps3 controller and pair it using the existing BT stack.
But no one has created such an app at this time.
Once full-blown webtop linux (or at least repo access), the desktop pairing app can be used while in webtop mode (if such an app exists).

Just bumping this because I could have sworn that I saw a project to get the PS3 remote working on the Atrix. Am I just hoping and wishing or was there a project going on?
(yes, I've tried searching to no avail)
I would love to help and fulfill attempt to get the ps3 controller working with the atrix but have a few problems...
Never played a ps3 except in store demo lol which also leads to me not having a controller to even test. With that said, I need some info about the ps3 and the controller. Use bluetooth for connectivity? What is ps3 based off of? Linux......etc?
If based off linux or similar then I could give out a go. If not, then I can't help. Lastly, can someone link me to a ps3 os dump (or whatever it's called).

I've never delved much into the PS3 Homebrew and emulation scene mainly because it's security was clamped down on so hard. But with the recent cracks, I imagine their online communities are probably buzzing.
Wish I had some resources to share. I'd really LOVE to get a PS3 controller working with the Atrix!!!
Don't know how much it helps, but with the recent Ubuntu hack, I figure I'd share that QJoyPad may work. A simple Google search should find it.
I never had trouble pairing PS3 controllers with it. It even allowed me to toggle sensitivities of all of the axis, including L2/R2. Every button worked, even L3/R3.

This is an ancient thread, I know, but I've had this question for a while. I don't yet have an HDTV, so I cannot test this, but aside from Hero_Lief's suggestion above, I also ran into a program called QtSixA (http://http://qtsixa.sourceforge.net/) for Ubuntu, which is supposed to be able to pair a PS3 wireless remote with Ubuntu through Bluetooth 2.0 or higher. Has anyone tried this yet? If not, someone wanna give it a go? Whenever I get an HDTV, I'd really like to use my Atrix for some bigscreen emulation, but I won't be enticed without a proper controller. Thanks!
Has anyone given a thought about pulling the drivers or what ever from a honeycomb build? I've read somewhere that you can connect a ps3 controller to a xoom.

[Q] Is there any kernel that allows the wii controller to connect yet?

I loved using my wii controller to play games, controll grooveshark and remote controll my camera on my htc hd2. But can we do it on the S2? Cognition rom so far does not work with my controller. Does anyone know of a rom that does?

Im hoping for this aswell. The Wii controller or the PS3 controller, mainly to controll some emulators.
Now that it has been a month after this post, has there been any progress on this issue? I would really love to use my Wiimote with the G SII.
I saw a thread just before about a guy on Miui with a wiimote.

is this the same protocol thats required for the ps3 controller? if it is does anyone know if its now possible to do this on a SGSII??
I guess it will work with any cm7 based mod, as cm7 bluetooth stack is compatible with the wii/ps3 controllers, is that right?
Yes CM7 should work fine.
Wii Remote Galaxy S2
Ok I have the sprint version of the S2 the Epic 4g touch and I was able to get a wii mote to sync with it for my super nintendo emulator and Roms. It's pretty fantastic and much more enjoyable than playing with a ps3 controller... At least I like it more. I am running the Calkuins.E4GT.ROM.v2.9.2 with kernel: 2.6.35.7-sph-D710.EL29-CL852097
I accidentally found out you can do this but with the snes9x ex emulator for droid and the sixaxis app installed the "search for wiimote" in the emulator will work. Before I had the sixaxis app installed it would say my device wasn't supported and from everything I've read it was because of the samsung bluetooth stacks. I'm guessing that the app fixes the stacks or finds a backdoor for it to work.

[APP] Use PS3 or Wii controller for your emulators!!!!!

So I asked in the Q&A forum if SixaxisPairTool APP, a PS3 controller enabler, worked for the Atrix 4g.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1221652
I have received multiple confirmations that this App works. I do not know about any ROM specific bugs or disabilities.
Seeing that I could not find a PS3 controller app/support before this, I configured a Wii remote instead, and it worked flawlessly in N64iod.
I would like to share both then
TO INSTALL PS3 CONTROLLER SUPPORT
Before you buy the app, there is a checker that see's if your device is capable. I would download that first and check just in case.

TO INSTALL Wii REMOTE/NUN-CHUCK/CLASSIC CONTROLLER SUPPORT
(Includes Download and instructions)
http://android.ccpcreations.com/wiicontroller
To enable support in N64iod, go to options, other settings, check "use input method/enable special input through IME".
Then go back to settings, go to input, and hit key mappings.
Nunchuck/classic should be plugged into wii remote before mapping keys.
This is the result (replace the Asus Transformer with your phone) ===>>>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZpzEZXE8yI&feature=related

I dont own a PS3 but ive found that the Wii App "Wiimote Controller" by C.C.P. [email protected]
Works great with my AT&T Atrix 4G.
Works with Nesoid, Snesiod, N64iod those are all i have installed but it works great with them.
It's awesome
I'm wondering if someone could help me find a solution for using either the ps3 controller or wii remote as a remote for PowerAmp and maybe other apps such as Podtrapper?
Maybe a macro app? any ideas?

gaming with controller

has anyone who has a dock been able to connect their dual shock 3 controller to TFP? I thought it was plug and play.
Just watched a video of someone doing exactly that. I believe its wireless via bluetooth also, but that may happen in ICS. Don't remember.

I *think* it will be PnP in ICS. Till then, you can purchase SIXAXIS app in the market, it's less then $2.00
I went out and bought a PS3 dual shock controller just to do this then found out that it only works if you use a usb cable, bluetooth is not compatible.
I found that to be lame.

You should check the Android Market, I'm pretty sure you'll find some applications letting you play with bluetooth.
Only certain game actually support a joystick. I think there is an app you have to install that works like a driver for it, but I have not tried it myself. However, it was said a WIRED PS3 or Xbox360 controller would work.
Bluetooth is supported too, but there are very few joysticks that match this. There is a Logitech PC controller and a Gamestop Tablet Gamepad that are supposed to work via bluetooth. Not sure on the requirements. I plan on getting the Logitech one to try this out; however, not sure when I will get around to it.
Here is a video of it in action:

Gamestop
Gamestop appears to sell/support a wireless controller.

Actually no, any app on the android market that would let you use the PS3 controller via bluetooth does not work on the prime unless you root it.
I had the gamestop controller and it is a total POS. It works with some games but they are not controls you can use to actually play the games just using that controller.. GTAIII for example.. You can only control your movement, you cant attack or jump or anything else.
The only game it works for is shadowgun. It doesnt works for any emulators, fpse, snes, sega or n64.
The Sixaxis app will let you connect a PS3 controller to your tablet, but you have to be rooted for it to work.

I imagine the emulator apps would need support for the controller programmed into the app itself, the tablet just recognizing the controller is there wouldn't be enough. each app will have to know what part of the screen to associate each controller button with. with PnP supported in ICS hopefully many more games & emulators will support controllers.
i got it to work. It is plug and play. You just have to go into controls and configure buttons. awesome for gaming.

The way the gamestop controller works, its not registered as a controller at all. It replaces your input method so basically its registered as a wireless keyboard that you cant setup.
My PS3 controller worked just fine being plugged into dock. I love shadowgun on it now. It is a hard game to play without controller.

Through bluetooth on the Droid and Nexus phones I've used it on. I assume it will work the same way on the Prime once we have superuser.

[Q] help with Bluetooth ps3 controler?

Hello, I'm wondering what I need to do to get my prime to connect w/ a ps3 controller via Bluetooth? Don't have the dock, but I want to connect via HDMI & use the ps3 controllers for my kid to play gta3 and similar games
I'm not rooted, but I'm comfortable rooting & unlocking boot loaders if necessary. If anyone has any advice, links, or apps to help me with this I'd appreciate it. I'm not a gamer but my kids are asking me to figure this out. I've checked a couple of vids on YouTube, but it seems most are using the USB port on the dock. I really don't have any other use for a dock, so if there's a way to do this without it, then I'll save some cash. Thanks all....
I recommend that you root and then use the Sixaxis controller app.
Sixaxis Controller App
The best thing about that is that you can make touch profiles so you can play all games with a gamepad.
The app works really good and there are guides on the devs homepage. Really easy to get it to work.
And have you used the search function? Did just a quick search on PS3 and look what i got
Asus Transformer Prime + PS3 Controller wirelessly without bluetooth enabled
Sony Branded PS3 Controller works wirelessly without root!
Is it possible to pair PS3 controller with no root and no USB/dock?
