Can somebody modify the application google googles and instead of searching the web to search to the photos I had to a mobile folder.
For example in a folder in my mobile I have 1000 photos with some items , so when I take a photo to search for a similar photo in this local folder and not to the google’s database
I think that the comparison between the pictures is not done by your phone, but by the google servers. The goggles app just sends the picture to the servers, so what you want can't be easily done...
Yes propably you are right,
Do you know where can I upload the photos so the Google goggles will be able to find it
I see what you want to do, but this would be very difficult. You need your pictures uploaded somewhere, it is not important where, but then google has to index them and this takes time. Also, you need some other pages linking to yours, because this is how Google's pagerank algorithm works (this is a simplification, of course).
And in my experience, except for flat things, like pictures or books, Google Goggles response is not very good.
Probably your best option is to set up a computer with some image recognition software, and then start a web server on that computer where you can upload your pictures and get your response. You could use something like neuroph (http://neuroph.sourceforge.net/image_recognition.html) .
As you can imagine, this is not something that can be done in a day.
Maybe someone else can give you more ideas.
Good luck.
thanks for the information, finally is more difficult than my first thought

Hello everyone, first a huge THANK YOU to all the developers and contributors! A wealth of information here!!!
I have searched and searched and searched the net all over and can't find a solution (other than having people resend the email as plain text) to view certain emails with attachments from people sending via Outlook. I get the winmail.dat file. Yes, it seems there are many viewers available for all platforms other than Android. I am sure if someone made an app for viewing winmail.dat files on the Android OS that they would make a good amount of money
Even the iPhone/iPad has a viewer: (well, since I'm a noob, I can't post a link, but its on the iTunes App Store called Winmail File Viewer
I'm actually in the process of replacing my laptop with a Xoom tablet. I can do almost everything I could on the laptop, but this is one of those "argh" things and in my searches, I've found many people searching for a solution as well.
So, my questions are...
1- Is there something out there for Android to view winmail.dat and I just missed it?
2- Would someone be interested in making a solution?
Thank you for your time.
I have been unsuccessful myself to find such an app for Android so I decided to create one.
You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488466
I have a lot of pictures at home in my personal computer.
Now that i have the prime, what app is the best to view all of them without transferring all of them to the memory?
I was thinking of an app like tumblr or similiar, where i upload all the pictures to the site and can view them that way
Use Google+,
uploading the pics are dead-simple,
You photos streamed onto your tablets (through stock gallery app) when there's internet connection,
and you can choose which albums you like to make Offline available,
It's perfect
JustPictures! free and works with Picasa, Flickr, Smugmug, Facebook, Photobucket, Windows Live, Tumblr, Deviant Art, Imgur, MediaRSS and local files. It's one of my must have apps.
Your first thread in the Q&A forum wasn't enough? I would imagine XDA has a problem with duplicate threads started by the same user. You may want to just stick with one of them.

No one answered me on the question and answers, and re-read my thread and figured it was an app question....it got your attention though
+1 for JustPictures. I use it for my Flickr collection, and it's better than any dedicated Flickr app I've tried.
I'm a heavy user of deviantART, including the mobile site on my android phone. The only thing that I miss is the ability to receive notifications on my phone when I get new deviations and messages in my inbox. deviantART haven't released any API yet, but I just thought of something that just might work, at least in theory. I'm not a developer, and I don't pretend to be, so please correct me if I'm wrong about anything.
The idea is quite simple in theory. The app loads the mobile page in the background and checks my inbox for new messages and gives a notification if any has arrived, possibly even the kind of message (deviation, journal, comment, reply, activity or note). When the notification is tapped, you would be sent to the corresponding section of the site in your standard browser.
I took the liberty of looking through the code on the mobile site and found some lines that tells me that it might just work. I couldn't find a way to post it here though, even though I used the
Code:
tag. I got a message that told me that I'm not allowed to post outside links.
I realize that this would have an impact on the battery life, but if you set it to look around once an hour, it would still be about the same, if not less number of times that I manually open the site on my phone every day.

Have you taken a look at the deviantART api? I'm unable to post the link to the api page but if you go to the deviantART page on your pc and scroll down to very bottom of the page there is link called Developers.
Thanks
So catch is being discontinued.. I need a legit solid comparable application, keep sometimes doesn't save photos.
Any personal experiences with evernote or spring pad?
I mainly use it to save photos I find on fb or Internet.
Thanks!

I am in a similar dilemma.
I don't like evernote, mainly because they are way too expensive (about 5$ a month is unreasonable in my opinion).
Evernote does not have a true offline option in the free version!
Here are the features that a good note app/service should have (catch notes had all these options):
Web interface and backup/synch (dropbox and web storage services do not count)
Offline editing and full access
Search everything (preferably as you type)
Categories/tags
Password options (preferred)
Reasonable export options is a must so you are not locked in to the app.
No monthly fees for above service (onetime fee only, or atleast a more reasonable month fee than 5$/month)
I looked briefly at the following apps/services and those are the issues I found which do not match my needs:
ColorNote: no web interface
MobisleNotes: web interface without search, no import/export option
Inkpad/notepad: no import/export option on web interface
Note Everything: no sync or export function
I figured I use catch regardless, and just use it for its internal storage options just sucks there aren't any real comparable services.

i have 3000+ notes and im looking at simplenote as a host, syncing with NValt on desktop, and there are a few android clients.
evernote is very reliable but too heavy. also i dont like that everything must have a title, and i you have to pay to store everything local. most of my notes are short and plaintext anyway.
however im having a lot of trouble importing them to simplenote. they have a tool but its super finicky and inconsistent. i think it will be easier to hack the notes into a client db, and then sync them up to simplenote. however this too is proving difficult because i want to keep the create and modify dates intact as well as the tags.
please let me know if anyone finds a soln.
in the meantime, id like to find the datafile on my phone. at the directory above i have hidden files turned on, but still see only media in ./media and one zero byte file in ./cache. where is the text data?
No luck yet

It appears the support pages are still up, abet slow at loading
Code:
http : / / support . catch . com/customer/portal/articles/1020076-i-can-t-see-my-notes-in-global-search-on-android
I can't see my notes in Global Search on Android
Last Updated: Apr 16, 2013 12:25PM PDT
We have made a decision to not allow for a Global Search based on security reasons. With the option to set a passcode on your notes, we feel that Global Search would navigate around this and violate the notes security.
For example: If you have a passcode set on your notes, yet we allowed for Global Search, any term you search for may return a result, thereby indicating that the searched for text is part of a note's content.

Im currently looking for a way around this as im trying to use dropbox (storage) and dropsync (to sync particular folders)
If this fails it appears ill have to learn how to create apps and create my own with the Catch API
Failing that decompiling and rebuilding it to my specs is prob the final method
lets hope it doesent come to that
As you can see I haven't been converted to the dark side of other apps yet
Me too. I'm still using catch but locally.

Did anyone actually get an email regarding this shutdown? I had a bunch of notes stored in AK notepad which are basically lost forever, and I don't have any emails from catch.com notifying me of the termination - I'm just finding out today.
Maybe they ended up in my spam :/
For Mobile Devices with Android v4+
I myself have tried over 50 apps for backing up Bookmarks and yet to bump into a great or even a good one
that does what its intended to do without screwing up other things..
People right now are screaming for a great Bookmarks App that lets them sync to all their chrome browsers,
as well as be able to back up all their bookmarks into a nice small package file that they can have it auto upload to
a cloud storage of their choice such as for example Google Drive..
And in order for it to be deleted it would require the user to input their password for that file 3 times..
making sure thats the file the user wants to delete.
Bookmarks are extremely important to people. And the last thing they need is having their mobile devices break,
and not being able to have a backup to their bookmarks.
I lately as of 05-25-2016 have seen so many junk app's that claim something and does not do what they claim to do.
either the app is for very older Android OSs or Devices or, their services are broken because no one maintains it anymore.
or the app has not been updated since 2002.....
Google company really needs to create a really nice Bookmarks app because people right now are in need of it.
Someone please create a 2016 Bookmarks APP with great UI Design for mobile phone & devices.......
