Looking for one of these but I can't seem to find one yet. Do I just need to give it time, or am I missing something already out there?
The moment I find one ill post it here. Those ARE the best type of cases for phones and tablets. I've tried em all and the cheap ass tpu's are the best....

Yeah, I have a CruzerLite "smoke gray" one for my Droid Charge and I love it!
we all appreciate it i have a TPU argyle one on my Atrix (original with finger scanner) and i believe there the best ( also i think when i do find one im going to cut a spot for the dock to slide on )
I think if you trim it where it would fit in the dock it would be all floppy. I like the idea of cutting the back out so its like a, please don't sue me, iPhone bumper. There's a guy that did one for his galaxy nexus and it looks pretty sick.

I really don't like the feeling of TPU cases, I prefer silicone. I guess it is just preference. I think the prime deserve something of better quality like leather or aluminum will be good.
Still nothing. My wife has one on her gtab10.1 and it feels bomb on there. I think these should start hitting the market sooooooo soon. I'm not getting anything till one of these comes out because I've done a ton of cases on phones and tablets and I still think are what you really want!
I've dropped my htc evo from ear level numerous times and she just keeps coming out clean.....
yes. need these! keep yer eyes peeled boys!
anyone find one yet
any links on finding a cover yet? (so far i just have the skinomi screen same as i put on my atrix but with the back cover part to)
I have been looking daily and been disappointed e every day.. Smh

You know what though? I was bored the other day and searched for tpu cases for the O.G. transformer and I couldn't even find one! I saw some silicone cases which I'm not a fan of but this is not a good sign for are tpu case hunt. I pulled the trigger and got a portfolio case (also not a fan of) cause my prime needs protection.
Not good >.> iv had the same result....someone in china is bound to make them at some point so we must have faith!

(Back order =hell ) asus T -prime :banghead:
I've been searching ever since I placed my order. Usually eBay is loaded with them but like from a few posts up, neither the OG Transformer or Prime has any TPU gel cases. I don't know why accessory makers wouldn't make them for the Transformer tablet.
I use these type of cases with all of my cell phones. They slide in and out of jean pockets so easily as opposed to silicon which catches on the denim. I've torn those cases before because I get frustrated when I can't get my phone out of my pocket.
I would think these would exist considering both the OG and the Prime are in such high demand. I mean, they made TPU cases for the Xoom for cryin' out loud.
they had a couple for the A500 buy haven't found any for the prime
Yea I am also waiting on a clear/colored tpu case for my prime. Bought me a sleeve from BB to hold me over. You would have thought that people would be making these cases or at least in R&D for them. I can not stand leather anything so all these portfolio cases and such are not for me.
These cases need to come out quick!! My prime is just plain looking for the floor....
I just figured it out.... actually someone posted it in another thread and it makes perfect sense. There is very little case support for the prime and og TF because most people buy it with a dock and they figure people don't want to take a case on and off to dock it. Well I didn't but it for the dock and I'm mad I can't get the type of case I prefer.

I am holding out for silicon... or saline will do
BTW if you search eBay for "Asus tf101 silicone" you will see they were made for that so i think that gives us hope.
It be nice for seidio to make a surface case like the evo 3d design for the tfp. Or otterbox types as well. A tpu would be cool.

Anyone seen/heard of a rubberized/rugged case for the prime? I'm thinking something like the Otterbox Commuter or Defender series...
Nothing yet. Otterbox told me no. Here's hoping for a ballistic case or gum drop like the first transformer had. I don't care if it's thick and heavy, I want it well protected.

Yup^^ they told me the same, when i had emailed them a few days ago

I sure hope you're trolling. The 'case so thick' adds extra protection. I am also looking for a case like this, hopefully someone will release an extra rugged one!
Some of us don't have little girl hands and actually want a bit of thickness. I don't get this make everything thin crap. Why not make something that can survive a drop. A well protected $500 is better than a razor thin $500 device.

No I'm serious those otterbox cases are how much?
60 bucks for tablet sized? Throw on a screen protector for 15 bucks and bam you get the price of a 1-2 year accidental warranty from square trade lol!
Just saying! And dropping a tablet is pretty hard a phone I see dropping Alot!
Anyways I have my naked evo and I drop it Atleast twice a day for the past year! Nothing bad has happened! Even left it on top of a car and drove off.. Yeah it scrapped the paint but who cares!

You do know that square trade and the lot only really cover with actual breaking of the device right? If the screen glass is cracked but the unit is still fully functional, they don't cover fixing the glass. It's in their terms and conditions.
Also, does anyone know if cases for original TF works with Prime? For example, if I were to get the gum drop's original TF case, will it fit into the prime? I know the dimensions are similar but not the same and I was wondering.

Dude, with that logic, who would drop a phone? A phone can be wrapped completely within two hands. A tablet is bigger, can be gripped far less efficiently, and has a much bigger glass area that can be damaged. Clearly, you aren't the type to use an actual case. Just a cover. As for those of us who want that protection, whether we need it or not, Otterboxes are excellent cases.

Unfortunately, no. The camera has flash(TF101 didn't, so no space is made), it's thinner, and less wide. So altogether, it would just flop about inside the case. Real shame though, I would like to see it on the Prime. Hopefully they'll make one, seeing as the Prime is selling pretty well.
They cover water damage.... just dunk it...LOL
I have an otterbox for my Razr Maxx, but I only use it when I go play volleyball at the beach don't think I need something like that for the TFP, but I could see how some would like it.
How about this one?

Anyone own the gumdrop case yet? Or maybe a link to a review?

I quite literally just opened it (gumdrop case) and put it on my prime! Any questions in particular?
General thoughts -- relatively sturdy case, though not nearly as robust as the gumdrop case for iPad 2, it makes a nice snug fit and 2 minutes in there are no glaring problems. Additionally, the rubber/silicon shell seems nice and thick at the corners, but thin and pliable (in a good way) at the ports so that they are easily accessible and the port covers will not place undue stress on the things plugged in. It may be obvious, but this case is not dockable. Though all the cameras are nicely cut around, it looks as though the light sensor may be slightly covered by the case, though this is hard to see. The way the mic cutouts are angled, it appears that they might be slightly less effective because they both face the rear of the device, rather than an edge, but I have not tested this yet. The case feels good in the hand and adds a nice grip.
Hope that helps!

Thanks! One last question, is the built in screen protector anti-glare or anti-fingerprint?
Can you put the case on WITHOUT the plastic "screen protector"?
Modded by MBOK
The screen shield is removable but it is not anti-glare/anti-fingerprint.
By the by, I have an anti-glare/anti-fingerprint under the integrated screen shield (fits no problem) but I did notice that taking off the case is quite difficult (like it may scratch the tablet, as in left a mark on mine that I could wipe away but was disconcerting).

The dry tablet wipe Asus was nice enough to include.
This thing is a miracle, my tf101 didn't come with one and I searched everywhere for them and couldn't find one. I went through about 4 packs of wet wipes throughout the period I owned my tf101.

I just went to the local Dollar Tree and bought 50 microfiber cleaning cloths, plus each one is 8x larger than the one that comes with the Prime. So that make me at least 10,000 times cooler than you with your measly 3 cloths.
Of course, the oleophobic coating doesn't hurt. The thing might attract a few fingerprints, but they wipe off exceedingly easily.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
Good grief, the micro-fiber cloths are good; I use big ones on my 'Stang, and you can wash them, too. Don't use those "wipes", some apparently cause problems.
As for the oleophobic ?? Is that a fear of pig fat?
Ok, here's a great item to bluetooth your tablet (android phone) quickly, easily to your big speaker system. The Logitech wireless speaker adapter S-00113, about $33, plugs in to spkr system. Got a button on top of the little box, push it, a red light starts blinking, goto tablet bluetooth settings, make visible, and bingo! She hooks up, light turns steady green. Do whatever, all audio comes thru your big speakers. No degradation.
I have the Poetic case for tablet with dock attached, like it fine.

Actually, I have prepared a list of the stuff people are completely blindfolded about Prime;
- First starting with the cloth. Yes it is awesome, wipes off any dirt and fingerprints within seconds. I am very glad they included it in the box.
- The aluminum back. I don't have wifi issues and couldn't give a rat's arse about GPS But that back is absolutely beautiful, not to mention no matter how long and how extensively I use the Prime it keeps the device very cool, always under 28C. Our Xoom and Gtab have seen upto 45C within maybe 10 mins of usages. Early in the morning when I disconnect Prime from the charger, the device is blazing cold. I absolutely love the aluminum back.
- The camera. The motherf'n camera! I am so surprised people are not praising the amazing camera quality the Prime has. I have used it in under low light and even then it takes the best pics I have seen on any mobile device (even compared to the iFruit 4S).
- Lastly, the name. I love the name "Transformer Prime".

you can get a big towel sized microfiber cloth with a container of foam spray from Walmart for $10, it's made from GE. and it makes cleaning super easy.
It's brand new (minus the cellophane wrap) and I can't get anyone to buy it locally on CL. Rare as hen's teeth. I'm surprised there has been no interest.

Office Depot
I picked up a dock a couple of days ago at my local Office Depot. They had it in stock at list price. Of course they didn't have any of the TF201 tablets in stock but plenty of the TF101s.
I'm still not sure I'm going to keep it though. I didn't buy my Prime to use as a laptop really. I bought it to use as a tablet, I've got plenty of netbooks, laptops and desktops. What really disappointed me was they don't come with a charger and cable.
I've docked mine once and didn't even remove the plastic protective covering just to see what it is all about. I can see how people are cracking screens with this thing though. The hinge is unbelievably tight.
If I do decide to sell it I will post.
fasthair
almost wonder if storing tab and dock separately for things like travel and transport would be a better (safer) idea.
My local Best Buy and surrounding locations all have them in stock. I bought one a week ago just to try out when though I didn't think I would care for it. I tried it a couple times an then returned it to Best Buy. It is very very nice!! If I was in college or didn't have a new laptop that I love them I am sure I would have kept it. If any one is around the Atlanta Georgia area them check local Best Buy stores, plenty of docks in this area, no tablets though....

Wow. No one read the OP.
If you add rubber bumpers, it's probably safer to transport docked. If not, there's some suspicion that docked transport could potentially cause the glass to crack, although I don't think that's been confirmed as the actual cause just yet. Transporting separately, I'm not sure that you'd necessarily benefit - the bulk is at least the same, if not greater, and you'll have to pack them separately to avoid having the hinge scratch the glass.

I have been using my Prime with the dock since early last December and my Prime is fine. I carry this thing everywhere, work, home when I travel on vacation, etc.
After reading all the anecdotal reports of Prime screens cracking, I think the real issue with the people whose screens cracked is that the Prime's backplate is slightly warped, which puts stress on the screen. If the glass is stressed long enough any bump could lead to a crack. Probably closing the lid, or pressing the slightly warped Prime against the keyboard dock was enough to stress the glass and cause a break.
As for the real intent of the thread:
Officedepot still has them in stock. As far as I can see they have had the most consistent stock of both Prime's Docks & other accessories. I don't know if they ship to Canada though.

I got my case yesterday. The most I have ever paid for a case, by a long way, and had to wait weeks because I chose the distressed leather finish but I have to say this is a work of art! Amazing looks, fits perfectly, adds minimal bulk to the Prime and makes me love my Prime again (and forget all its other faults).
One of those rare occasions when spending top dollar is actually value for money.

I am waiting on a dark vintage leather case from Noreve's exceptional selection for my 64 GB Prime to be shipped and sent to me.

That is a pretty sharp looking case, but with prices starting at $105 I would wanna make sure it works with the TF Infinity (my next tablet purchase) before I go and spend that much money on a case.
Here are some photos of mine, taken with my cell phone.
It is an exceptional case, makes carrying the Prime around a pleasure, simply because the case is so damn thin, and feels so soft!
It is hard to bite the bullet on the price (mine was, I believe, $85, plus shipping, and you can find discount coupons, if you search the net to bring it down more)
Shipping is somewhat expensive, somewhere around $15, but on the bright side, I ordered mine on Sunday, and it arrived to Los Angeles by Weds. (I can be very patient, as long as I don't have to wait!)
The case has very soft, leather type material on the inside, so it doesn't put dust and dirt on the screen every time I close it, which is one big complaint I had with my Blurex case.
It also has precise openings for every port, yet provides excellent protection for the edges of the Prime. Only opening not accessable is the charger port. You need to charge it with the case open. You don't need to remove the case to charge the device, but it does have to be open.
It really gives the Prime a very elegant look, the leather reminds me of leather used on very high end briefcases or luxury cars, and the clasps work great, easy to open, easy to close, and it feels totally secure when closed.
Certainly not for everyone, but if you can afford it, and want an elegant solution to protection, this is certainly worth a look!
nice
I ordered mine few days ago ... I hope it will arrive soon. I choose the basic one to avoid to long wait
I love the noreve case.
I already got for my archos device and my smartphones.
Hi, great looking case but I can't tell from your pics if it accommodates the keyboard/ dock when attached?

I just received my noreve case.
Regarding the keyborad, first of all you have to know that there are 2 cases. One for the tablet only and one for both
I bought the one for the tablet only.
But you can still connect the dock and it will look like this :
I just got mine yesterday after waiting 20 days (and 7 days for UPS to deliver) and I am disappointed. Not sure if I should be, but I have sent them a mail about it.
The quality is very nice, but mine came with tons of "scratches/Scruff marks" all over the case, which makes it look like I bought it second-hand from someone who have used it extensively.
Also I ordered mine in Passion Vintage, which on the site looks like a deep red/burgundy color. Mine looks faded and like someone left it out in the sun for a month.
Front of the case:
Back of the case:
Color comparison to the color shown on their website:
Maybe I just had higher hopes .. but after paying so much and waiting so long for the case, I am disappointed. But we will see what Noreve replies back to me (if anything).

Tempest
I'm curious if you ever contacted Noreve, and if so, what their response was?
Your case definitely looks like it's been well used, not like it is brand new. I'm not sure if that's what the "look" is supposed to be, but I can understand your disappointment!
I hope they work with you to make sure you're satisfied, because the case is, as you said, excellent quality, and it's been a pleasure for me to use, for the past two weeks.
All the vintage leather cases are supposed to be distressed leather, meaning scratches and scuffs, so to me that would be expected. The color does look different what what is on the website, but personally I think it the case looks great! If the case wasn't so expensive and the wait time so long, I'd take that one off your hands.

That is the response I got from them too. My issue with that is that it is nowhere stated, that this would be the case, and all their own pics, the leather is in pristine condition (and the color is different).
So when I look at the site and order a case in a certain color and material, I sort of expect that it will look like it does on the site.
If I can't trust their pictures, then I am almost bound to be disappointed once I get the product, as it doesn't look like the presentation.
I just think the color is too faded, and had I know this, I would have gone with the black one, which I think would look better in a faded color.
There is nothing in the quality of the case that I can complain about ... it is lovely, and in fact it has 4 angles, not 3, as the two prongs that closes the case are very hard, and can be used to support the tablet at a better angle for writing
Also, you can use it in portrait mode, as the front cover, folds all the way back (there was a question about this in another thread).
And it is possible to put the tablet in the dock, without completely removing the case (if you need to recharge the battery off the dock, or just want to use the keyboard for a bit).

I have the same finish on mine and I too was a little apprehensive as the scuff marks started to mount but it gets to a point where it starts looking like vintage leather which is what I wanted. Think of it as something that will improve with age, which is very rare with gadgets!

Well I did complain about the lack of "real life" pictures of the materials on their web site, as that was the biggest disappointment. Seeing that my case's color (and condition) didn't match what I used to make the decision with.
Showing a different color and (apparently) different leather type, when I click on the link to see the Vintage Passion case, is just not good enough.
But as it turns out, they have agreed to exchange my case to another type of my choice at no extra cost (except for shipping it to France), which I think is very nice of them.
So now I need to decide if I should go for the black or brown cases, which I think will look better in a faded color.
As requested, pictures of the case after a few weeks.
I took the photos in weak morning light with no flash.

Thanks a lot .... helps a lot with my decision.
I think I really like the brown case, but I think it will require me to wait for about a month again.
