[Q] Bionix v1.3.1 Notification PullDown Issues - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I recently installed the Bionix-V FishmanMod 1.3.1 version and am having some issues with the Notification pulldown option. When I pull down the top bar to show the notifications, there is a lag, and it is VERY choppy as it opens. However, closing the notifications is relatively smooth. I tried turning off the animations in the Display menu, but that did not change anything.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Fixed
I installed the latest update -FISHMANMOD and the BlueMyst Theme and now everything is SMOOOOTTTHHH as butter. I love this.
Also installed the ICS fonts, and it's amazing how something that simple changes the whole UI feel.
The Bionix developers and Fishman are awesome.

that's good, I didnt have that issue and im testing it with the stock theme from the rom, you might wanna update your post title and write (fixed) at the end of it

Sorry to hijack your thread here but I'm running V1.3.1 with the ICS theme and i find it running really well, is this fishmanmod that much better than stock 131 to make it worth the hassle of resetting everything on my phone? Perhaps i should ask in that thread as well. Thanks

I personally think it is, much more stable if anything, and the slight speed increased helps too, bionix is already a great rom but fishman just makes it even better and more stable, havent had a force close yet and battery life is great

My notification pull-down is choppy sometimes (not a lot), but I don't think it's the rom as much as it is the crap running on my phone. It's nothing that worries me.

[Q] Bottom status bar for a Froyo Rom?

Hi, long time lurker, new poster.
I couldn't find any info on the G-tab forums on this, so I figured I would ask:
I am just wondering if any of the devs have considered tweaking their Froyo ROMs to replicate the bottom status bar tweak found in CM7. There are a few Froyo ROM's over on the Nook Color forums where this has been implemented (i.e. Nookie-Comb or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=999214).
It seems like a mod like this would include the best of both worlds; smooth flash and the bottom status bar tweak similar to CM7. Just curious if it has ever been considered? If a Froyo ROM implemented this, I would probably hop back on that because of the speed and smoothness, but honestly I'm jonesin for the tablet tweaks in CM7 (mainly, bottom status bar), making my ROM of choice a GB ROM with choppy flash.
Any thoughts? Please correct me if I'm out to lunch.
try downloading the new VTL Launcher by GoJimi...its pretty nice

I agree! I did ask this in the Vegan thread and have received no response on it yet.
rbansal2 - I already use VTL Launcher and it is great but I like the CM status bar along with it.
VTL makes for a better tablet experience that's for sure.
Having bottom status bar in Caulkin's ROM would be mighty fine though.
VTL + button savior is a good alternative for the time being..
i read that the status bar at the bottom causes issues with the keyboard. Thats why they dont do it.

MIUI vs Other Roms

There are so many GB roms out there now. What's the difference between miui and say Simply Honey? I've only ever used that and Simply Stock. Is one better than the other as far as performance or is it more visual? Thanks!
Simply Stock 2.3.5 JVS w/ 1.2 Talon Kernel. Badass Rom \m/
Miui is mostly visual it is an overhaul of android ui its also fast but i multitasking menu is slow to start when playing games but it is cool also its smooth over all battery is avrage to bad 8-12 hrs in my experience an other gb roms is samsung roms on steriods an battery is great 12-20 for me froyo like 14-24 an its regular android with twiz on top of it an the browser is lag free on jvs an jvr roms an i prefer sammy gingerbread because its better over all

If I may explain in a slightly less feverish run-on-sentencey way than Jason, MIUI is built from the ground up, while most other Gingerbread ROMs are based on leaked i9000 ROMs from Samsung.
MIUI has a unique launcher that does away with the app drawer, instead putting all apps on your home pages which are easily organized into folders of your choosing. It also has many special features you can't find in the leaked i9000 gingerbread ROMs. For instance, long pressing a toggle like wifi or bluetooth will open up its settings.
MIUI is also, in my experience, a much smoother experience than Froyo and even leaked Gingerbread. The launcher has no lag with only a mild overclock, and apps load quickly. Even the phone itself starts up quicker than with other ROMs.
The best part of MIUI is in the customization by way of theming. All those special lockscreens that require custom ROMs and flashing to use? MIUI allows for anywhere from single swipe to, I'm not kidding, 15 button lock screens simply by downloading them through the online theme collection. You can change your icons, status bar, lock screen and wallpaper, dialer, SMS, and more by simply downloading a theme online through MIUI, and can even mix and match various components to your liking. SMS from Blue Dado Black combined with an animated lockscreen from some indecipherable Chinese name and a font from the Evolver theme, and on and on.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to know more, read the MIUI threads in the Development section. For me, I can't imagine leaving the ROM without something catastrophic happening.
Thanks man!! I'm gonna give one a try tonight.
One quick question, if I have the gb bootloaders I need to Odin the froyo one right? Also need to be on stock 2.1 or .22

Yes, you'll need a Froyo bootloader. I just installed Lithium V2.1 MIUI and wow, it's super cool. I'm trying to figure out the lockscreens.
of all roms that I have tried Simply Stock 2.3.5 JVS w/ 1.2 Talon Kernel is one badass rom!!!!!!!!!!! it is super fast with 0 bugs or forced closes and I have no desire to switch it for any other "pretty rom"

I have never tried a jv(anything) Tom but I did try every froyo I could get my phone on and I did miui in early augustvand it was a constant flash back and forth from cm7 to that.
I have noticed occasionally lag while loading apps like cnet tv and games (using chainfire pro).
What was the last miui you tried? I must say l, miui as is really stable and still fast, lithium rocks in speed, stock is my face so far when the powermod is applied.
I could not justify staying off of froyo until now.
Miui launches apps fast but are they faster once loaded in Samsung base rom's?
Also it has been since august that I tried any cm7 nightlies since gr90, is it just me or has miui surpassed cm7 in stability with less maunual fixes?
One thing is that the speaker on off for people to hear me is still happening on every miui I try

[Q] Blazer v3.5 missing theme

Hello all! I recently rooted my Samsung Epic 4G Touch and installed PhantomHacker's Blazer ROM v3.5 and ran into some small appearance issues. It seems that everything has installed properly other than some of the visual elements (Unless qbking77 themed his ROM in his video and I missed him mentioning it). I have the proper boot and power off animations and I have the all the proper status bar icons. However, I am missing all the other things such as all of the altered icons, the pull down notification bar, and the messaging app. I've noticed it's all stock basically, other than the few things I mentioned. Any mistakes on my part? I hope there's an easy fix for this! Thanks in advance!
It's been pretty much stock themed for a while now, he's got a few themes for it, but its been a while since he's had the time to update them to the newer versions. If you check out the e4gt section, there are several compatible themes in the them section you can flash on it, or wait until PhantomHacker gets his fixed up.
So qbking77's video is of an older version of Blazer when it was themed? Thanks for the answer!

[Q] How customizable is stock with root?

After flashing all over the place for the past few months, I opted to go back to the oldest nandroid I have, which is 2.3.4, UCKK6 and my kernel is 2.6.35.7_ZedomaxStockKernel. (I like most of the ROMs I've tried, but my game data would for some reason go missing, and it's quite a pain to start playing a game from scratch every 6 or 7 days - so I figured I'd get off ICS for a while).
It's all well and good and everything, but there are a few custom ROM features that I liked. For example: the 14-toggle menu, which allowed long-pressing on a particular toggle to go to the related settings menu. I also wouldn't mind ridding myself of the home button lag (that was fixed with that dreadful 2.3.6 OTA update). I don't use voice commands very often, since they often fail to do what I ask of them.
So anyway, can I flash mods through CWM like I can on a custom ROM? Can I flash different kernels and scripts safely? Some of the mods I've seen have only been developed for certain ROMs, if I remember correctly, so obviously I'll be unable to use those. If it comes down to it, I would be willing to flash a stock-based ROM, so long as the wifi doesn't murder my phone and/or it's not deodexed (I don't really care for theming and the phone seems smoother(?) when it's not deodexed).
Sounds like you would like Unnamed 1.3.2 It's based off of UCKH7. It looks exactly like stock and has the toggles you want in the dropdown window. I think there is a mod here that will take away the home button lag.
I am on Unnamed 2.2.1 that is based on UCKK6 but lot of people report the wifi drain bug with KK6. I somehow managed to not get that and it runs fine for me.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

This. +1 . Unnamed's older version is what I always flash back to for an awesome stock experience. Also I believe Serendipity was based on 2.3.4 as well but don't quote me on that its been a long time.

Neutrino Rom blurred scrolling

I recently installed the Neutrino rom v2.8 EE for my atrix and I love it so far. One thing I don't like is how when I am scrolling through the settings menu or my music, is that the text becomes blurred/pixelated and doesn't look very good.
Is this a normal thing for this rom or is it just me? And is there a way to fix it?
Thanks!

I have the same problem. I installed Neutrino ROM v2.8 EE as well yesterday. Switching to high quality scrolling and rebooting didn't help me. Does anyone have an idea, what else we can try?
Last night I tried out the latest stable version of CM7 from the cm website and it seemed to have the same problem, except it wasn't as noticeable as with the Neutrino rom. Then I used a theme I downloaded from the market and noticed that the blurring got worse, which leads me to believe that it could just be a theme issue and there's nothing we can do about it.
