Obviously
(i prefer Froyo, but when official GB is out, will update my rom because no one will still use froyo)
Performance obviously I prefer 2.3. Now I have void.forever and is awesome performance
But, because of is not an official Gingerbread, still having a little issues and bugs.
And in apperance, I prefer froyo. Menus and things were clearer, more intuitive.
Ciaox created this thread to check whether members are using his rom lol
Btw ; I tested ur rom, and within few hours I am back to Gingerbread !! I love gb with great performance and stable battery. What else do we need ? Bugs are born to happen
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
I am waiting GB only for an improved text editing.
Gingerbread has better performance than froyo and the awesome animation and looks of gingerbread is a plus.
I didn't I only wanted to know other people's choice
(that old poll thread was created to see how many dudes were using mine, admit )

Hey guys is there any gaming improvement frm froyo to gb?
Depands On the requrements like if i need battery backup then i will chose 2.2.2 and if performance or speed then sure cm7
I like performance, dont mind a little less battery life.
So its cm7 2.3.4 for me
My fav is GB 2.3 - great speed, faster 3D.

I'm laughin' at that
opinion
I've seen GB has more goodies for the developer end like better OpenGL support and the like. For end users Froyo is no less awesome
Ok so I'm new to the vibrant and I've been having some real crappy battery life. After like 2 hours of medium use on cm7 my battery is at 50%. When I was using my g2 I'd get like 8 hours of medium use running cm7 oc'ed 1.3ghz. But I have my vibrant at 1.2ghz and its horrible, same @ 1ghz. Is there any fix for this or should I start checking out some extended batteries?

CM7 isnt going to be the best battery anyway
flash a different kernel (dont know which iv never been on CM7) or go back to a 2.2 rom
i was using glitch hl kernel. and i dont get why i would go back to a froyo rom. froyo is outdated. but cm7 always had good battery life on my g2 so i dont get how a bigger battery would ause lower battery life.
Try bali kernel and callibrate ur battery with an app from the market u should see a difference

If htc released the source for the g2's newest android version, you'd notice a decent difference between the two phones. We're still missing some key drivers and an official leak.

This post looks complicated but it was pretty simple.
You mentioned not wanting to spend money, so I will warn you, it involves purchasing two apps.

This is incase you want to find out exactly why your battery life is crap and fix it, rather than living with it and buying cheap extra batteries (which is just as fine a solution).
There's a plethora of roms out now on gingerbread and I was just curious about what you guys think is your favorite GB rom.
Which one do you think has the best battery life with good performance too?
Least bugs?
Simply Honey 5.0 w/ 1.2 Bullet kernel. Badass Rom \m/
Simply Honey 5.0 or MIUI revamped
Biffmod v1.3 is pretty stable and nice. Is simply honey 5.0 really good?

GingerZen, runs flawlessly and gets surprisingly good battery life.

Right now, biffmod is working great. I love AOSP style roms though, so there's a bias. lol.
Does anybody know how to get wifi calling set up on GB?

how much battery life do you get with that? I might try it out if it gets over like 15 of moderate use. I need to have my phone last at least that much to call my carpool after a workday.
I cant stand the jvp,q,r roms, i only do gb with cm7 roms cause ive tried samsung roms and they were all laggy and unstable and not even that much faster than froyo... cm7 got rid of all those issues....
Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
Miui fan here, tried a few others but the stability and eye candy of Miui keeps me coming back. Battery life is so/so depends on your 3g usage, I don't OC/UV so i use miui stock, not revamped.
Simply Honey 5.0 !
Biffmod 1.3. Fast Rom with great battery life. Nothing flashy. Just my cup of tea.

I want to try this rom, but I am having troubles installing it.
I've tried "via sd card" in CWM. No luck.
I've tried via ODIN and can't find the 512pit (maybe it was 512tar) file to flash (it's on my desktop).
Is there an install guide for noobs somewhere?
I'm really liking the Simply Honey 5.0 rom

Hey there, welcome to the forums.
Well, first of all.. tell me a little bit.
What are you looking for?
Speed? Good Battery Life? Froyo, Gingerbread? Do you care? GPS? etc.
personally bionix 1.3.1 was my favorite for froyo, but if you want Ginger cm7 nighty is the way to go. miui is popular, but for the most part, it turns the vibrant into something completely. . . different.
flash away man. see what works for you. the vibrant is virtually unbrickable.

I'm looking for a fast rom. REALLY FAST. And not many glitches or non at all.

I use Toxic8 with Bali X 1.2kernel (gingerbread theme) and it is snappy, stable and battery lasts really well. Quadrant (although I despise it) gives about 2000 average.
I even used the GPS to get me to somewhere that MapQuest failed big time. Place was so far out that the roads didn't have names anymore, just numbers. But GPS took me right to the front door.
I'll try it out. Can you send me the links?

I've gone from Cyanogenmod7 to Trigger to Toxic Crazy 8. Cyanogen was horrible, as I was still a noob and it was terribly buggy then.
I suggest toxic Crazy 8. Flashed it a couple weeks ago, and it's beautiful. I decided to stay with Froyo because it's been around longer (more time to perfect it) and it's much more battery efficient. I get 44 hours of light use out of my phone, on one charge (Screenshots soon, I'm busy now...) It's also super smooth, just follow their install instructions. I've never had it lag and I can't stress how amazingly smooth it is.... xD Have fun flashing! Just keep some backups handy...
Edit: I failed to mention I'm running on Bali, OC'd to 1.2 Ghz (It came with Toxic, and I have no reason to change)
Here's Toxic Crazy8
I know the Thunderbolt's battery is known for being very short, but I charged it to 100% right before I went to bed, and when I woke up the next morning it was down to 63%. WiFi and 4G/3G was not on, only the cell radio. This doesn't seem normal at all, but is it?
I get atleast 12 hours with my set up. For you to get an honest reply, you need to tell us what rom, kernel, are you overclocked and such. Hard to comment without those dude.

I'm running Redemption ROM. I have no idea what kernel. I'm guessing the stock one since I never changed it. I'm not overclocked.
Maybe I could change to a ROM and kernel that gets better battery life?
The best ROM/Kernel combo I've found so far is the BAMF Cubed 1.10 with imoseyon lean kernel....After installing try doing a battery calibration...very detailed procedure with no app download at teambamf.net. But anyway, still using the stock battery from when I bought my Tbolt in March 2011....getting 26-30 hours of battery life.
