Is there a way to switch and Use Touchscreen Keyboard while in Dock?
Thanks
Yes, it seems that it was just recently added but when you are in a typing window with the dock connected look in the bottom right corner for the keyboard icon. Click that and then in that menu there is a switch at the top to switch between using physical and virtual keyboard.

Thanks so much, you guys are GREAT!!!!!
I have different but similar question.
If there is any way to use external keyboard (I mean loaded from the Market, like Swype or Thumb keyboard) with dock. I can't change language layout.

whats it do??
what is it?
Gives you pinch to zoom on the touchpad, simulates dragging the screen, whereas the mouse cursor works more like a laptop. Anything else?
round circle thingy (like finger sized round circle) instead of a cursor.

Pardon if this was talked about already... App doesn't let you search in just a forum.
I'm using my dock and I switched from gesture to mouse pointer. In mouse pointer the scroll is backwards. It is most notable when I'm on my home screen. I have my dock set to pop up when I swipe down and my app drawer open with I swipe up. When using the dock I have to scroll up to open the dock and scroll down to open the app drawer.

Are you asking a question or making a statement here?

Along the lines of both. Putting out and FYI for everyone without a dock and asking if those with the dock are having this issue.

yes - noticed this the other day
When not using the dock, I prefer to use Thumb Keyboard from the market for the on-screen keyboard. The problem is when I dock the tablet, the keyboard stays on Thumb Keyboard, which uses the US keyboard layout which is a bit of a problem since my Prime is the UK model. The keyboard layout differs slightly which is not a huge problem but it does get a bit annoying.
I can manually change the keyboard back to the Asus keyboard but that seems to be an extra step in something that should be automated. Does anyone know if there is an app or a setting that tells the tablet to change keyboard automatically when you dock or undock the keyboard? Thanks!

I believe there is an application for that, but I don't remember it's name unfortunately. It might require root too.
I'm also using thumb keyboard, but I haven't found any inconsistencies yet, could you point them out to me?
As for fixing your issue, you could try the ' alternative/international keyboards' setting
The only one I have found so far are @ and " being switched around. (shift+2 is @ on US keyboard, " in UK) There might be more but I haven't really tested them out. Anyway I tried looking at the international keyboard settings but there seems to be no way to change to the UK layout; there's just one QWERTY keyboard.

i just did the other day using viperboys method, it was done in less than 10 minutes with NO hassle. HIHGLY recommend it. i pretty much did it for this app, which USED to be paid. for w/e reason, dev made free... and im glad!
my only possibly objection to KBM, it places a notification in the bottom right. i just hate notifications. i try to clear em asap. but, same goes for external sds... so i guess we just deal with it lol...
Lol. I know lots of people get annoyed by notification icons but I'm pretty cool with them so it should be alright. Thanks for the tip on the rooting method.

in the settings for keyboard manager you can disable to the notification.

ya i know but leaving a notification makes it more of a persistent app. i use swipepad on my phone with notification persistence but the dev made it possible to make the notification icon transparent. this should be in ALL notification icons imho!
I keep hearing people say Swype and for the life of me I have tried it, but it just seems to make top many mistakes

Lol. What keyboard are you using? If you typed that with Swype (timely typo), then maybe try to adjust the sensitivity and maybe checkout the tutorial. I was having issues too until I played around with it. Now it's my go to keyboard. Good luck
I use perfect keyboard. I find that swiping a single finger can't possibly touch the speed of two thumbs. Plus I like the split keyboard in landscape as without it is a bitbof a stretch.

Another one for Thumb Keyboard here. I've tried just about everything out there and always come back to it, the best one available in my opinion.
Smart keyboard here.

I used to use Better Keyboard before it was taken off the Market, but now I use ICS keyboard previously mentioned. If I ever used landscape to type, I'd grab a thumb keyboard.
Just picked up Swift Key X for. 49!

I switch between swype and thumb keyboard.
+1 for SwiftkeyX. And yep.. its on sale! Grab it before the price returns to normal.

LOVE better keyboard.
+1 for the ICS keyboard in the market. Great keyboard. I've got swiftkey but I just found it kind of meh.
I use Swype and I have a terrible time going back to any keyboard that doesn't have some sort of swiping interaction.
I have pretty large hands and I can reach all the way across the screen with my thumb, so I can hold and use the keyboard with the same hand. I don't think I'd be able to do that without a swiping keyboard.
I use swiftkey tablet X but there is one thing that annoys me to not end. The little area to the left of the "a" I seem to always hit vibrates when you click it but results in no "a".

Swype, but I use it like a standard keyboard (no 'swyping'). I use it because it has a hidden keyboard which makes cursor movement and other editing keys available. I came from a phone that had a mini joystick which made cursor movements around a text box very easy.
If you are wondering, to bring up the hidden keyboard you swype from the swype button to the right to the EN/'World' button.

Quite a few keyboards in the market have hidden cursors. Perfect keyboard and Gingerbread keyboard (by Stephen Lin I think) have hold, slide up space bar to get cursors.

Don't get me wrong...love my note....but the keyboard is just too wi6de for comfort! The keys by the edges of the screen aren't the most accessible. If the entire keyboard could be indented by about a cm on each side....things would be perfect! Anyone know of such a solution?

If you're rooted, and like Swype, uninstall the stock one, go to beta.swype.com get the installer and run it, it should install a smaller one instead.

Take a look at Swiftkey or Thumb keyboards. The are both very configurable and might provide the functionality you are looking for. I have been using Swiftkey exclusively, both for its split keyboard setting which is great for the GNotes wide landscape format, and for its freakaly accurate word prediction software. Swiftkey will learn your typing style and gets better at its corrections with use. Both the Thumb and the Swiftkey keyboards allow you to reconfigure the height and the width of the board keys; a functionality which seems to at address your stated interest, if i am understanding you.
