Anyone know how to transform a ROM? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hey people if this question has been asked I apologize.
Can someone explain to me or direct me to the information on how to get a ROM that works on the new Baseband and get it to work on the old Baseband?
If your asking me why don't I switch to the new one it's because when I did I couldn't get My data working so I switched back.

Search for baseband fix, remember, it may not work on every rom!
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

Yeah I know but I actually want to know how to fix it myself.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

there is only one rom that is mik_os which will work on new baseband after applying a old baseband patch
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium

No I have used three other roms including lupo's IcS ROM that worked with a Baseband fix. I want to learn how to make those fixes
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App

I think there are 2 or 3 files associated with the extraction of the baseband fix...I read on some thread in our forums that these files have a .so file extension...just take a look at it and ask aspee. I believe he is the one responsible for the fix

Cm7 question

Will cm7 come to the .54 baseband soon I'm a noob to android so I just wanna know and if not can someone give me steps to get it
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Currently is only developed for .4X basebands, maybe in the future when we get a stable ROM it will support other basebands, I think its easier that way, if you want to install it, download the file that is posted on the CM7 thread, inside it includes all you need to flash your X10 to .4X baseband and CM7 ...
Is there a how to cause like I said I'm a noob and need a how to lol and how often is it that they do come out with all basebands cause I want cm7

T-Mobile wifi calling app

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows how I could get this on my phone. I have a vibrant and my cousin has a captivate and we are both on T-Mobile but I want something like a apk or a flashable cwm zip that would be compatible on both the captivate and the vibrant. Please someone help me, thanks in advance

Some roms come with wifi calling. Just gotta look in the listed features in the op... froyo ones are more likely to be better and less half-assed. Idk anything about captivate... tell him to get a vibrant

Ya but isn't there a way to just download an apk or flash a zip file to make it work but I want it to work on any phone.

Not at my pc, but you can do this. Install Bloater (made by a dev here on xda) and use that to install wiring calling. Neat and overall useful app. Here is the link: http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=591&

Actually, head to the Dev section and look for EDT Project V ROM thread. In the OP there is the wifi calling .zip file attached which you can flash through recovery. Just did it myself and worked like a charm.

Absolutely no clue. Ask around on their forums.

It should work just fine. Check out the 1.3.1 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925548
He has it listed under "Addons" which you flash yourself, so I think that tells you it works/is compatible w/ his rom. If you want to stick w/ their stuff, head here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bionix-v/files/
Download the samsung-apps.zip, open it, drill into system -> app, and extract the wifi-calling .apk file and install like any other app.
I flashed the wifi calling zip from the project v rom thread and the wifi calling doesn't seem to work. All it says is that it is enabling but it never does. I am on simply galaxy v2.7.2 rom

Do you think it has something to do with the model number being it says GT-I9000. When I really have a vibrant
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
did you try the .apk route?
I downloaded bloater and there doesn't seem to be any wifi calling app in there
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
i dont think it would work for the captivate since t-mobile is stingy about this stuff
here are two apk's you can try. i dont know if either will work on the captivate.
both from same xda thread. one is on page 1 and the other is on page 12
Page 1
Page 12 <<<the one on page 12 is the one i used on my vibrant and it works just fine
(its in post #118)
Both of them did not work on my vibrant, all it does is say that it is enabling but it never really enables it. Do you think it is the model number.

Ask in the thread that pertains to your rom, the dev may know. At this point I think we've helped as much as we can in this thread.

Flash popdog's Oxygen ROM if you don't want the CM7 stuff, and only a simple gingerbread ROM (way faster than the official gingerbread).
I've used cm7 since the early days and even with OpT...just wanted to try out the official gb's....I know all to well about oxygen, its to minimal for my taste but the performance is superb
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
What about comparison of performance/speed/battery between oxygen ROM and CM7.1 ?
To be honest, there almost the same...maybe I'm wrong but that is just my opinion..I will say this performance wise,oxygen....

Blackbird v1.2-beta1 question about kernel

First off; this isn't an official discussion thread on blackbird at all just a question on kernel...my question is..can I use any other kernel other than stock kernel on this rom without getting an error message while trying to enable wifi..I've attempted to use tb1.1/1.2/1.2-hotfix
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Also I can't seem to find the stock bootanimation file..its usually under system/media...I was going to add my own personal bootanimation,as I've simply done with 85% of the roms I've used ?
