So I was trying to make some room in my /system partition, and thought I had a copy of my Maps.apk file before I deleted it. Now when I try to update to 4.5.141 the install fails because it couldn't find Maps.apk.
Fine I tried downloading the APK file, but the update doesn't like the 6.2.0 file I found.
Can anyone email me a copy of their Maps.apk from /system/app
Email address [email protected]
Thanks in advance.

You don't have to install it. Copy the apks to /system/app and reboot.
Cheers.

Motorola jellybean email client apk.
I have installed JB 4.2.2 on my razr and having hard times using native email client for my corporate emails. I was using motorola's email client which i got used to it.
So, can anyone post the latest motorola's email client apk and steps to install it.
Thanks..
Sorry for being noob, but I'm having a problem pushing .apk's that has .odex files along with it. I flashed my SG3 with the stripped APK's ROM and I wanted to put some of the apk's back like the Music Player with the provided .zip he provided that contains all the stripped apks.
I tried pushing it to /system/app but was denied.
I tried pushing it to the /sdcard and then copying it over to /system/app, but everytime I try to install it it says "Application not installed."
I've been looking at all the guides and tutorials to push apk's properly, but maybe I am missing something?
It only fails to install with applications that has an .odex file along with it, anything without an .odex file installs fine.
If someone may be can provide me step-by-step instructions to do this, that would be really helpful.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
Nevermind, it seems even though it says "Application not installed." As long as it's in the system folder with the right permissions, it will show up on your list of applications.
HI,
I downloaded Adobe Reader apk and pasted in the /system/app folder.
Made a backup of the firmware using nandroid.
Copied the adobe Reader apk to /system/bin of the nandroid backup after using Android Kitchen.
Zipped the Rom and flashed it on the sgs3 phone.
All apps in /system/app work except for adobe reader apk.
The message being displayed is "Unfortunately,Adobe Reader has stopped"
Kindly help.
Thanks & Regards,
Milind
If apk has libs files in it. Paste them in /system/libs and set correct permissions
The error message is not coming but the app closes down without any warning

Hey jamal.. thanks for the insight. I tried copying the file in the /system/bin.
The error message is not coming now but theAdobe reader still doesn't open.
Any more clues? is it mandatory for the apk to have an odex file.
Also do we have to make any changes to settings if we have to put it in /system/app folder?
Opps: Copied the .so files in /system/lib

Hello
I uninstalled the memo app, but I need it back
System /app contains 0kb. Apk files and. Odex files.
The Apk are shortcuts to /preload /symlink /system /app or something like that.
How do I restore the memo app so that it works?
Just putting the secmemo.apk into /system/app doesn't seem right since rom is deodexed
Please advice how to restore the app. I have the rom zip file to extract the files from just not sure how
would have been cool if this post would have gone somewhere. Looking for similar info.

Have a look here
Don't bother, the reference is no longer valid, but I may have found something - checking it out first.....
Sorry but I can't recommend what I found. There are many similar and better apps anyway.
