He doesnt release the code for his kernels. As I understand, he is military and hasnt updated his website in some time because he is deployed.
Ahh ok. Well they run so smooth. Thanks bud.

Saw that virus sent him a 3d finally too. Going to get even better now. He's been building the kernel without a phone. Pretty dang amazing!!!

I used them for a while, but now I use bcblends kernel, I think the overall performance is a bit better with bcblends, but I also think a lot of that has to do with the init.d scripts.
Any suggestions for a new rom? I love virus roms, but after two weeks of constant reboots, it's time for something more stable.
Thanks

there is so many good roms out rite now.. mean rom.. eternity.. clean rom.. adrenaline.. zr3d rom.. steal 25 rom.. they all sweet roms!!! trust me.. just try one out if u aint feelin it try another
Leedroid all the way
THISIS50.com if its hot its here
if you have a gsm phone, mikrunny for sense 3.5 or leedroid for sense 3.0
cdma....what is that
Lol stick to the 3.0 based ones and your set I know you are a long time virus user lol. Seen you on infectedrom and here man .. Hope you find what you need.
Thanks reaper. My solution was to go back to last month's builds, when the stock kernel was used. Have not rebooted once. Once he switched out kernels. Things went down hill. I'm a happy camper again.

I'm running Virus' Synergyb3 with Anthrax RLS08rev3 with narry a problem.
I'm thinking more and more that these isues with not booting, reboots, etc are HBOOT issues or just at most some init.d tweaks that are causing issues. I've never experienced non-booting roms or reboots on any Virus rom or Anthrax. I've had my EVO 3D since the week they came out and unlocked via Revolutionary method the day it was released.
I just learned that the zero shutter lag can only be possible to ICS roms only after HTC releases an official kernel (?) So... since devs ,I supposed, have official kernels of GB in their perusal....just wondering.... Is the zero shutter lag for evo3d camera already available in GB custom roms.... if yes... which one?? would be very interested in trying one out...thanks

That was something that Chad was working on, but it breaks 3d. So apparently, you can have either 3d or zero shutter lag. As far as I know, Chad never released a kernel with that feature and neither has anyone else.

with this.....i think its really hopeless to hope for the zerosutter lag on ics.... but still crossing my finger that someone might at least come close to it.... for the mean time... cant do nothing but to salivate looking on how sIII clicks...even on nexus...no plan of getting rid of my 3dtoy tough
I've been on Viper since launch...
Haven't tried any of the others. Visuals are important to me as well as smoothness.
Mean ROM.
Mean Rom.

Mean rom is a beast
any rom would do. there all pretty simple at the moment, nobody has took their rom to the next level for this device.
Many devs are still ROMing for other phones and haven't journeyed to the LTE just yet.
only time will tell. And Ive flash just about all of the roms out now.

I will agree. My daily rom is MeanROM but I've tried them all and I think they're pretty much all the same. Only thing that's separating them are tweaks, they definitely all look the same. From what I hear the VenomRom will be the one that separates itself from the rest, when it gets released.

I've tried Mean rom and Viper. Both excellent roms but I chose to stick with Viper as my daily driver for now. It just feels a bit more familiar to me since that's all I used on my 3D.

+1 with mean rom for sure. its got by far the most support and updates as of now. but when the viper rom comes out whenever that may be is up in the air but when it does i think i will be the best. go to the one x page and check it out....but mean all the way right now without a doubt!!!!

Ive been waiting patiently on that Rom to come out, words on the threads, beta will be out by the end of this week
I'm going with mean as well simply because he supports it by far the best.
Everything is pretty much the same right now so it's not a big deal, just play around with a few

I had ARHD 6.6.7 previously. It was a stock experience with nothing new. Also my battery was terrible on it. Yesterday I flashed ViperS 1.0.1... And I must say that it's by far the best rom I have every seen and used. It's packed with so much goodies! So much customization options that you'll never get bored. And on top of that, it's also very fast. The venom hub and tweaks app is revolutionary.
So far, the battery is also doing great.
Team Venom rocks!

if u like the customizing tweaks u find in AOSP roms like cm9 and aokp then u should look forward to charmeleon rom, it will be getting a major update in the coming days
using the AOKP right now. dont really like any of the sense options there are right now. and i like the AOSP lockscreen too much. haha. waiting for that chameleon rom guy above was talking about. hopefully we can get a good CM9 Port going.

nah man, I am just a tester and flasher for my local peeps.
Dude you should try this rom. they've made this rom very light and now i usually have around 175 - 220mb FREE.
just 3 bugs so far.. which i have already reported on day one.
1- Facebook Calender Sync doesn't work.
2- Gallery and Music app fails to load and search files. ( most of the time ) its a pain though :x
3- No Predictive Text in the keyboard. ( you'll have to use the ****ty SwiftKey for that.)
I've flashed Mean rom... All I noticed was 2% drops in battery every few minutes.. And it looked like the same stock ics layout
What's so special about It
We need roms that have boot animations and tweaked batt life roms that tweak the ui something extra ordinary
Stock suits me for now until I see a tricked out rom one that physically just looks different to the eyes

Individuals are unique, that's why I always recommending users try something they like for example:
Aosp: fourth bar, speedrom etc.
Sense: nrgz or arhd, etc.
It's honestly better to try various roms than for someone to say so, he may like it now cause you said so but a later he tries another and think so of that one too. Then what?
sent from a smooth place where my fingers trace across the screen to see your face and make you scream!
Project Butter/Speed Rom is by far the best ROM I've tried so far. I would love to use FourthBar but not having a signal indicator really bothers me. Once craigut fixes up some of the bugs, I'll probably be giving that a try again. Knowing how great our devs are here, I'm sure it will be soon! If you're looking at Speed Rom, you might want to wait for version 7 comes out soon, so you don't have to fix everything back up again after you just settled in.
Tried android revolution HD and it was very good but I've been using energy for a while now and I love it. Patiently waiting for a CM9 or CM10

I haven't had any errors, battery life is good and everything works.
@amandez
20 hours on stand by or something ? Because the battery sucks on my htc amaze... and if thats how drastic difference just changing ROM will do...then def getting Energy rom.

Yes, it has the blue rings spinning boot animation..
And if you search my posts in that thread, I have posted multiple tweaks you can make to the init.post_boot.sh files that make the kernel more battery friendly.
Remember, it isn't just the rom, it is also the kernel in big ways.. use one of the latest faux kernels, tweak the files as I just mentioned.. depending how extreme the changes are you make, you could have over 2 days of mostly standby, or at least 14+ hours with some pretty heavy usage.
Just know, if you are spending all day playing some 3d game it will always kill your battery no matter what rom/kernel you use.. the same as on stock.
