hi,
I´m on rooted neo v with bootloader unlocked and have updated fw and kernel to .62
but I still have old baseband (xxD-56 - new is D-64)
don´t see any disadvantages so far,
I´m just curious and interested.
and where is the baseband integrated (if)?
Kernel or FW?
for other devices (i.e. HTC) you can update baseband
by cwm and zip-file...
Here you go!
.62 firmware Baseband:

just flash it with flashtool
yeah, thx alot!
finally my update is complete

i found in another thread the .64 baseband for neo v which is here:
http://205.196.122.253/3370kbxvo93g/lis7dx8dhppylq2/.64+baseband.rar
which one shud i install..
im on .62 based fw (NeoV.62_ODEX_Smooth_Spacious_n_Light)
and night-elf kernel...
Suggest you to do a full flash to 0.62 fw with flashtool using this ftf file, then move to spacious rom This way your phone is fully updated to 0.62 fw.

Hi to all,
i have my new xperia s (its great), anyway i already unlock the bootloader (thanks to DooMLoRD and Sony), now my question is how do i update my fone with 62 fw to 73 fw cause it seems that 73 fixes the battery problem?
is there anyone can also give me the link for the 73fw as well as its instructions?
also, once the ICS is release for xperia s is there no conflict once i updated my version to 73?
thanks in advance.
edit: nevermind about the link i found it
edit: thanks for everyone in this forum. now i have successfully updated my xperia s from .62 to .73 and now its rooted. and now il wait for the ICS
i do not know if i will install cfw but for now there is a huge improvement in battery. , maybe il stick to the pre-rooted fw and wait for the ICS before installing any CFW.
May I know how?
May I know that, how you upgraded your firmware from .62 to .73 since you have unlocked the bootloader?
Do you flash the pre-rooted firmware by yourself?
What is your ori generic fw? For me I really hard to find my own country fw...
Here it is

ive downloaded the orig ftf (for backup), you can choose whatever you like but i choose the sg ftf and the pre rooted firmware of sg.
first you need a flashtool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588586
and then u need the ftf (orig and pre rooted)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599303
and for the instructions on flashing the original firmware
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
and for flashing the pre-rooted firmware (look for post by 4lex96 i think its the 4th post on third page)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597784&page=3
thats it goodluck.

Still stuck myself for decision...
Thank you for your info 1st. This give me a guide how to "ROOT" my SXS.
However, after flash in the .73 SG generic firmware, will I face problem while the official ICS update launch?
Is it at that time I will need to wait someone to pack the ftf and upload here then I just can update to ICS?
Haih, headache...
Also plan to use DoomKernel (Advanced Stock) to easily root the phone, dunno what problem will happen...

i thinks theres no problem on getting the ics update its just that the update that youre getting will be based on SG firmware.
yeah i think so too that once the ics is release they will upload here a ftf for it.
i'd tried the doomkernel (advanced stock) last week have no problem at all,
but im on a ROM now so i installed the doomkernel 04a, by the way im using
KAspeed ROM.
anyway if u flash the stock advanced kernel, you can always get back to stock by flashing the original kernel from the stock firmware.
Thank you again.
Well thank you again for the info.
I will try it in this few days, hehe.
btw, you used and using DoomKernel right.
If I flash back the original kernel from advanced kernel, will I lost root and the recovery?

im sure that you will loose recovery but about the root i dont know, if u flash the pre rooted firmware before the doomkernel and then go back to stock maybe the root will not disappear but im not sure havent tried.
Thank you.
Okay. Roughly I got the idea about it.
Now I try to root the firmware that I packed out. Still learning.
Still got long way for the ICS update yet. Haha
Thank you.
1. First download 4.0.3 kernel. (Neo V officially but will work on Neo)
2. Open flashtool 7.0 or newer version and flash just the kernel: untick wipe data/cache and tick exclude system/baseband and no final verification check.
3. Root with DooMLoRD's one click method shown here.
4. Optional: install CWM.
5. Now reflash 4.0.4 kernel using flashtool like shown above.
If you somehow do not have 4.0.4 firmware or if you are not on ICS but you want to update to, follow this guide from where you can download 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 ftf.
is it also applicable on Neo MT15i ? ? ?

this thread is for 4.0.4 android version but you may try the same steps on your device just with flashing .42 kernel, rooting with zergrush v4 method NOT this one and then reflashing .62 just be sure that nothing bad can happen to your phone if you flash just the kernel

I'm not sure what you want to say. If you are asking about updating to ICS, rooting the phone is optional. Here is how you can update to ICS.
I must have ICS 4.0.4, for I can from 2.3.4.¿?
Sorry muy bad bad bad ... english.

you must be on 4.0.4 but I posted a link in the previous posts how to update to 4.0.4 if it is still not available in your country.
Is The Kernel Updated To 3.0.x in ICS 4.0.4
Works!!!
I confirm that this works.
From 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431) then flashed the kernel (4.1.A.0.562) and followed the doomlords guide and back to (4.1.B.0.431).
Phone (Xperia NEO) rooted =) locked BL thanks man.
Ok I'm a noob. Where the hell is the thank button
ok i need to post first to see the thank button.
Works great.
I've bootlooped my phone several times before, with the other tuts, but this works great.
Works here, locked bootloader.

lol and how do you expect to have 4.0.4 if you don't want to download the whole rom?
you wanted to ask for a 4.0.3 kernel?
if yes, get it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26798415&postcount=141
I meant,i am already on ics 4.0.4.
to root it,i need to flash first the kernel of 4.0.3 and then 4.0.4.
so,download link for 4.0.4 kernel?

Hi guys! I'm in panic, I bought my phone last weak, here in brazil they are too expensive and after flashing a custom kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1708532) and now, when i turn on my phone, appers the sony logo, then that sony ericson logo, after that it auto reboot and goes like this forever, can someone help me?
try flash another kernel..did u on ics or gb?? that kernel for ics only..
Solution
relock your bootloader (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324703) then that run the SUS ( Sony Update Service), Done! ( this can be helpful: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/34946)
@talhah sabri
I think that was my problem, I don't know the difference between then, can you explain me? Sorry I'm too noob
if u on gb flash kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468043
kernel for gb is not same with ics..if i were wrongpls correct me
I think its a bootloop, try relock your bootloader, then repair, with SEUS or with Pc companion

concentrate, he already done that
btw, there was no need to mess so much, simply flashing GB kernel would fix problem.
He used ICS kernel on GB fw.

To update you need to flash the .587 ftf using flashtool and after that flash a prerooted kernel for ics. You didn't need to downgrade if you want to root ics. If your bootloader is unlocked, just flash a prerooted kernel like kernel panic or rage kernel
