Is there away to disable this upgrade pop-up? I will probably load CM on my phone at some point, but I don't plan on doing anything in the next week to two, but this damned pop-up shows up repeatedly day and night.

First off, I love this program. I have an EVO 3D. There is no permanent root for the phone now. There are temporary root options. When you restart your phone you have to re root your phone. How about an option to save the configuration of the frozen apps so that when you reboot, reroot, you can restore your config quickly and easily? Thanks!!
A:
In the options menu there is an option for the alternate freeze method, this will work with temp root and even stay after reboots. But I am also looking into saving your frozen apps for other reasons. Hope this helps.
Sent from my EVO 3D.
Thought this might help everybody.
huh .... im lost here
Basically, temp root the 3d.
Install Bloat Freezer and freeze any apps you dont use.
Enable the alternate freeze method in settings.
If you reboot your phone you will still have to reroot.
After rerooting your apps will still be frozen.
This has helped my battery life significantly.
I use this program also. Good to know, thanks.
Apps frozen with Titanium Backup stay frozen through a reboot.

yeh i thought this as well
so what bloatware are yall freezing?
So, I just started getting this message in Tasker... Has anyone seen this before? I can uninstall it and reinstall it from the market and it works, but if I restore data only from a TB backup, I get the expired message again, so I can't even export my profiles. >_<
Actually, I remembered I had taken a manual backup via Tasker itself a while ago, so I was able to restore that, so it's 90% there...still, kind of annoying that it happened in the first place.
I am a subscriber to Slacker radio, which gives me the ability to cache stations on my phone so I can play them when not on wifi and not incur data use. However, when I update a rom, or change a rom, something changes and slacker thinks I am registering a new phone. They only allow this once in 30 days and I lose my cache ability. Is there a ID number that gets changed with rom change that I can alter (keep the same) so a subscription service doesn't think its a new phone??
Thanks,
Glenn
I have titanium backup and the pro key, and when I flash a new rom I have a zip to flash titanium as well. First time running it notify you that the android id has changed and asks you if you want to restore your old one. I do this every time, and I've never had to re-authorize any of my apps.
Thanks,
Once I get slacker to reset my account I will use that method. I have seen that screen before, but I don't see it everytime I restore from backup using Ti. I wonder if id changes each time rom update or change??
Yes, actually. Each time you wipe and reflash, your android ID changes. I have no idea how to view it, what it's actually called, or how to back it up and change it manually, but titanium backup pro will backup this ID and restore it upon reinstall after a wipe (I have the pro license, not sure if the basic license does this). For more info, see this giude.
I subscribe to Spotify (totally worth it) and experienced the same issue. Upon wipe, flash, and reboot, I'd have to re-download all my music. Once I restored my Android ID and restore my missing apps with data upon reflash (which I do often, because I get bored), everything is still there, just like I left it.
For the record, Titanium backup pro is the most expensive app I've purchased and worth every penny. If you don't own it, try the free version and see if it takes care of your issue. I'm fairly certain the Android ID is your problem.
Furthermore, if you flash a lot, use the Titanium backup schedule function to backup and delete apps so you're not doing massive, hour long operations before you want to flash the new hotness you just downloaded.
I also have the pro license and might have to check out spotify. I have all my playlists on slacker though lol and that would be a lot of work. I will check out schedule on ti as I usually just do the hour backup prior to flashing or nandroid backups lol.
Thanks for all the info!!
It would be very useful if Titanium backup and Tasker were compatible in such a way that when I plug my phone into the charger, Tasker can detect this event and launch one of my specific TB backups (i.e Backup new user+system apps& newer versions).
I know there exists scheduled backups, but I'm not looking for those. I charge my phone irregularly because I have a giant 11,000 mAh battery strapped to it, so a nightly backup - say, 3 AM- isn't practical for me. I can make shortcuts on TB that starts the backup process. But I could not find a way to make tasker run these TB shortcuts.
People have suggested to use Auto-shortcut plugin for Tasker, but this does not detect/list the custom shortcut from TB (or any TB shortcut), and I have tried everything I could to try to get it to work.
If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated
You put a widget to the desired backup in a side launcher (or on your homescreen) and get over it that it takes you half a second to manually innitiate the backup whenever you plug in your phone.
I virtually takes half a second. Imagine all the backups you could have made while trying to figure out how to make taker do it for you.
I agree, it takes a second to do this, but if it can be automated, I'd prefer it so. Anyone?

Schedule a backup every hour at night, but only if charging. It's a setting within tibu, no tasker nedded.
Or try scheduling a backup for 03:00 everyday and "kill app, titanium backup, if screen is on, or power is not ac at 02:59:59:91".
I have a notification to download and install the update. How do I permanently get rid of the notification? I have titatium backup..is there something I should freeze?
Thanks in advance.[emoji1]

If you long press on the notification, you will see a little "info" icon. Click that and "show no notification from this app"
Also as a backup, every time I see a notification, the first thing I do is make a nandroid backup. One time I let my sister use my phone to make a call and she accidentally clicked install and bricked it... If you make an immediate nandroid backup, you'll have a "checkpoint" to restore to in case you do install by accident.
When I long press it it shows "Google Play Services" as being the owner of the notification. I went ahead and disabled notifications anyway.
Also, I'm trying to figure out what is downloading the OTA on my phone. I did a search, including system apps, in titanium backup for OTA and found nothing. I did a google search and some said to disable LGFOTA.apk and other apks but I couldn't find any of them on my phone.
I am on stock rooted and depend on root daily with the apps I use so I hope it doesn't force me to update. I've heard of that happening on other phones. My most recent notification wouldn't let me press "Later" anymore and was now a persistent notification.
So, will I not be able to root, if I update to the official 6.0?

I think you **may** have to freeze the update center. I searched for "update" in my equivalent of TB ( I'm too poor to be able to afford TB pro after paying for the phone lol) & it showed the update center, which I went ahead & froze. That seemed to make my notification disappear. Hope this helps! :fingers-crossed:
