Hey guys,
i have a big problem with my headphones and my sgs2.
If i use them, I only got sound on one speaker. I was on CM9, actually I am on cm7.
Is there any solution for that? Please answer me, I am really annoyed from that problem.

Have you tried the headphones on another phone/MP3 device? Have you tried other earphone/headphones on your SGS2?
Did you jam peanut butter in your headphone jack?
tried it on ipod and lg optimus speed, everything works fine.
other headphones like sennheiser are working fine...

How about the peanut butter? haha.
Ok, so was it working before or has it suddenly stopped working? Did you try pushing in the connector harder? Sometimes connectors are either thicker or longer on some headphones and don't connect all the way.
Also, try using something thin and long to scrape the bottom of your audio jack on your phone, might have some dirt jammed up in there stopping the connector from going in all the way.
I change the connectors from the headphones. And it works... Thats crazy ish..

Hi.
This is my first Samsung so, have mercy
None of my headphones are working.
I only get sound in one side and the other is too low. Almost inexistent.
I tried with cable to connect it to my audio system and the same.
Next step was to use the hands free from my X10.
Is working ... but not as expected. Almost no bass and no trebles.
The only ones working are the ones from the SGS2 box or using my headphones via MW600 bluetooth (which i don't like it as it drains more batter and the SGS2 is power hungry)
So, is a problem with the 3.5" ?
Or my headphones?
Or ... is a compatibility problem? Can i find somewhere an 3.5" adapter?
Thanks
Its gonna sound dumb but u have plugged the jack all the way in yeah? Takes a little bit more force than u think

Worked with other headsets for me
- Dell streak headset
-Iphone headset
Needed that extra push to fit the pin in really well
Well, i'll try one more time ... anyway, earlier i found something else using the X10 headset.
If i press the "answer" button from headset, everything is fine but as soon as is de-pressed ... it goes back.
I have a similar problem with my expensive Shure earphones. They sound much worst and "tinny" then the standard earphones that come with the S2. Even if these earphones are cheap, at least the sound is acceptable.
If I plug the output of the S2 into my car stereo, I again have terrible sound. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that the stock S2 earphones have 4 contacts on the jackplug as compared to 3 on normal jackplugs. The extra contact, I presume, is to permit the switch for fast forward to work on the headphones.
I can't understand why other people don't have this problem - and yes the jack plug is pushed right in.
Yep, pretty sure, the jack is down entirely and still not working.
I tried with the SE X10 headset and normal stereo headphones
I think i will have to stick with the bluetooth if i can't find an adapter of some sorts.
Wondering if anyone has had similar issues. I use the headphones from my skyrocket with mic and the mic works, i use my skull candy aviators and the mic doesnt work on it. These are great headphones and really want to get the mic to work with this. Anyone else have similar issues>

Some headphone mic's not working?Arrow
I had that issue when I attempted to use my Dell Streak 5 mic-headphones. I plugged them in and the Note did not register the headphones at all when I played music. I rebooted the Note with the phones plugged in one time and now they work fine every time they are plugged in. Hope this helps.
Cheers!

I've had two issues with the headphone jack, but none with the external speaker.
Regarding the headphone jack, believe or not one time it was just because lint got trapped in the jack. So maybe try taking a paperclip and try digging around to guarantee that you're making a solid connection.
Otherwise, check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726521 This was more or less what I experienced in my second issue with the headphone jack.
Good luck.
whatr can be the issues wen the intrnal ear piece doesnt wrk?
earpiece flex? the main camera flex as well?
motherboard?

I also have the issue where by the internal Phone speaker (ear speaker not loud speaker) and the phone jack do not work.
Both were working, then they were intermittent, now not working at all... Did you ever find the answer?
I am considering changing this phone now, but have no idea what would top the Atrix as a good all rounder! I was looking at the Pad fone... but can't seem to find a UK version anywhere...
N.B. I would love to actually fix this phone first!!!

Unfortunately that link did not fix my issue - Although I would assume that would be a Rom issue if the app did fix it!
In my case I notice the Fingerprint scanner does not work either...
so Fingerprint scanner, phone speaker and audio jack do not work, front camera fingerprint scanner button and everything else does work!
If I output to Bluetooth, car dock or play dock\hdmi it all works as well (other than the aforementioned issues)
Hmmm... not sure what else to try, other than replace the ribbons etc, but they all look perfect!

Thats ok thankyou for trying. :good:
I'm not sure what else to try TBH... its too good a phone to throw it out lol its just annoying the speaker doesn't work...
Maybe I'll look on ebay and see if there is a decent quality MB860 for sale then use this as parts in-case anything goes wrong in future...
Hey guys, does anyone have this issue? The audio from the loudspeaker is just crap, and also the position of it is away from the screen?? What sense does that make? I'm trying to watch a video, not broadcast the video's audio to everyone in my general area (except me).
Now that's a physical problem and can't be fixed. What I'm really mad / inraged about is the jack audio. Any type of headphones I plug into is extremely quite. Compared to my old phone (xperia play) I can't hear anything....is this normal? Does anyone else have any similar problems? I can't even wear these outside and listen to music, the wind and car noise is far louder. I'm forced to bring my old xperia play instead just to hear something (which btw, it's like twice as loud on this phone) and if that's going to be the case every day then it's time to sell this Evo 3D.
Another side note is that the range of the audio is also not very good, I can hear it struggle with high ranges as it makes "pops" in the audio...very disappointing..

My audio has always been fine, but maybe you could try using an EQ or something (might need to be rooted)

It's possible that my phone is faulty, but let me ask you this; what volume is your phone at when you think it's fine? I have to place mine at max to be "fine", not great, but fine. While the xperia play is at 50% being just fine.

I personally keep mine at 30% - 40%, it's a comfortable volume. Anything past 70% is a bit too loud. Do you think it may be your headphones..? Or it could possibly be a software issue like your ROM.

Originally I thought it was my rom, so I flashed another; same issue, so then I flashed the RUU...same issue. Tried different headphones, same issue, tried the same headphones on different devices...works completely fine at loud audio. Guess the phone is screwed. It already doesn't have any gsm radio connectivity.

Yeah, a hardware issue would make sense if nothing else is working.

Are you using the HTC headphones? Because after plugging in the original HTC headphones it came with, I found that these headphones are loud and working correctly. So it seems that any other 3rd party headphones will not duplicate the same result. That is unfortunately because I hate the htc ones, they don't cancel out background sound at all. They all have the exact same jack, 3 rings, same size, etc. But the HTC one is different. When plugging those headphones into my xperia it gives an error and says they aren't supported. So it's obvious that HTC put some type of technology into them that differs them from regular headphones.
Edit: Alright, so I tried yet another pair of headphones lying around and they work fine too. Is it possible that I tried the worlds only two headphones that don't work well with this phone? In any case, I'm no longer mad about the jack audio, it's obviously fine. But the loudspeaker is and always will be an issue, which sucks but oh well.

Nope, using third-party (JVC) headphones. Good to see you've got it sorted out though. Also I agree about the loudspeaker, it's a piece of crap. My old Evo 4G had a better one.
My phone is quite loud!
On mwakious Rom and it has tweaked audio settings.
It's gsm but maybe try the xloud mod available. Should improve audio volume

Hello there.
Today I've noticed that the left speaker of my headphones doesn't work when I plug them to my Mini Pro. I moved from CM10.2 to SJB 8.0 and found this out while testing stuff out. It's been some time since I've used my phone as a music player last time, but I never had any problems like this. Reverting to CM didn't help either.
I can't really find out whether this is a hardware or software issue. I think connector isn't dirty, wiggling the plug doesnt make any difference. Is there anything more I can try, besides flashing stock firmware? Did anybody have a similar problem?
EDIT: I've connected my PC to the phone as a BT headset, both channels work fine there.
What headphone do you own? Most new headphones with mic won't work correctly on 2011 xperia. Those new headphones use CTIA, our phone uses OMTP. Long story short, you can only use stock headset or the ones without mic. You could buy OMTP to CTIA converter though. Look up on eBay.

I use only standard stereo headsets, namely Creative Aurvana Live and Creative EP630.
They looked compatible to me. Maybe cleaning phone jack with alcohol would help, I don't know. Sorry

Thanks for your input either way. I have tried cleaning the jack with isopropyl alcohol, and also just in case left the phone without battery for some time (because why not).
The strange thing about this is I'm getting absolutely no sound whatsoever on the left channel, while the right one works like a charm. If i'd get any noise while moving the jack around, it would be pretty obvious sign of bad soldering, and therefore a HW problem.
I still struggle with this problem. I have tried downgrading software to stock GB, didn't help. I've took it to some service centre, the folks there have replaced the jack, but it didn't help either. I wonder if i should pump any more money into this.
