hi
just need to help really concerning my battery.
Is it normal that cell standby and phone idle to have the highest percent. as in above the 35% mark.
if not then can someone point out where im going wrong.
CPU:-
122 max, 122 min and on conservative for screen off
806 max, 122 min and smartassV2 for main
Build.prop:-
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
pm.sleep_mode=1
init.d:-
batt-tweak
engengis
and im on the omega rom
thanks
Well, is your phone on stand by a lot? Do you use your phone at all? How long does your battery last regularly? Those are all factors.
ok i just realised what the cell standby is. stupid me. yeah 3g is always on so that explains that.
but is there a way to decrease the phone idle. is that when im not using it and its just lying there?
just want to know with the tweaks i'm using if the stats are normalish for an average day. bit of internet here, phone calls ect no games tho.
thanks
I always on 3G! Try follow my setting below...
Keep your build.prop tweaks,
SetCpu as;
Main: 240/600 : conservative
Profile:
Screenoff: 160/240 : powersave
Priority: 90%
Charging: 240/800 : ondemand
Priority: 80%

ok i ll try them. will post again later with an update

In answer to the original question I would say 'yes, because it sounds like you are in a weak(ish) signal area, and/or possibly keeping 3G on the whole time.'
Basically the cell-standby will be influenced by the degree to which your data connection is straining for coverage.
You might best be served by trying to find an app or tweak that switches 3G off whenever you aren't using it.

Lmfao I just realized your battery is down to 1% xD. I'm testing out 160-600 interactiveX with no other profiles. I want to see how long the battery lasts.

OC Daemon
The OC daemon was created by rmk40 of Team Unity. I take no credit for the daemon, only the script I made to make it easier to work with. More information can be found here, but I will sum it up and explain the script below...
This daemon, written in C, completely eliminates the need for SetCPU and other CPU controlling apps. The daemon handles min/max frequencies for both screen on and screen off but it has one more trick up its sleeve... It can change the governor INSTANTLY depending on the screen state. I have tested it and I can tell you that it really does work instantly and I think this is going to be a great battery saver! I have set default values within the ROM as follows: Screen Off - conservative @ 192min/486max and Screen On - ondemand @ 192min/1188max. Using these settings, I get NO lag. Battery life is amazing, over 19+ hours for me with moderate usage! See for yourself...

Im on shooter rewind, ADW EX launcher, all sense disabled, set cpu set similar to vipers ROM: 486/192 conservative display off & 1512/192 on demand when the display is on....very stable, no lag. I keep thinking my battery widget froze cause it barley moves lol
I dont think Ill need an extended battery for this phone, which is a first in like 5 or 6 years.
I bet the bank a bare bones ASOP ROM will OWN in battery life.

Just rooting wont affect you battery life. installing apps, and flashing kernels or roms can though
Try the SBC kernel that's floating around in the general section, it will improve your battery life.

My battery life hasn't been better, but my data speeds have been way better since obtaining S-OFF. Probably has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with the phone completely re-syncing with Sprint's network afterwards. Regardless, I couldn't be happier. Now if Flipz will get Fresh Evo out....

This setting thing dont work so dont bother as it shows same % as we see above in status bar.
I used to face same thing buddy its due to custom rom. So what i do now i charge my device for 2.5-3 hours even if it says 100% in 1 hour but still i keep on charging as the real charging time with stock rom or swtich off is 2.5 - 3 hours.

Thats what i said in above posts that we have to charge it blindly for 3 hours even if it says 100% after 1 hour.

After how many hours of charging u saw full ? As according to ur screenshot it shos u took 5 hours.
Which rom ? Cm 7.1 , 7.2 ?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using Tapatalk
I installed many ROMs in my mobile.
In stock ROM, I used to wait till the notification of full charge comes.
But the common thing is on the battery icon you will be able to observe that the phone is in charging mode. This remains same even if the phone says 100% charged and will come to normal mode only after another hour or so.
Thus if the mobile says 100% charged but the icon is in charging mode it means that the battery is not full yet. If the icon comes to normal mode then the battery is fully charged.
In stock ROM you may observe 100% in battery widgets but the icon shows that it is still charging. And when the battery is fully charged you will get the notification for the same and at that time you can observe that the icon comes to normal mode.
In the screenshots you may find that the time difference is very small. Ignore it because the battery was fully charged just one hour or so before taking the screenshots.
If you are on cm7 then keep on charging the phone even if it says 100% and to know if ur phone is fully charged or not see at the battery icon ..if the phone is charging still then it will show a small zigzag indicator even if it.is 100% and if ur phone is fully charged then only that zigzag line will dissapear

hi all ...
my ACE's battery dropped from 100% - 59% today in about 10hours ..which is pretty fast ..
i only used my phone for some songs ...about 5 songs ..on wifi for 10mins for FB ..then others it's idle ...usually it last for about 24 hours or less ..just wondering is this normal ?
i don't use 3G , GPS , bluetooth ...
That's good for life but I'm pretty sure my battery is stuffed from heat

Normal you say? I'd be happy with a 40% used in 10h. With REAL use (3G, twitter, whatsapp), I get 9 hours of battery life.
My phone lasts 1 day no matter what I do. so i just plug it in when i go to bed.
Include sleeping of 6-7 hrs.. Battery lasts 21 HRS..
Check out the thread on my signature . Underclocked at 480 and running smooth as hell. Using the Infinity rom that comes with LagFree and TurboBoost preinstalled. Not sure if its because of those scripts but my phone doesn't lag and battery lasts me the whole day running on Edge.
cool..i am using your guide BTW ^

OK changing the question: what are the differences between 729 and 787 as Max for you? Don't answer if your phone crashes! What are the differences for performance/battery between them?
The highest level you can OC is 864Mhz. It affects CPU life and battery life A LOT!
Decrease the CPU speed can save the battery, but it also can make your phone slower...

Hehe you answered exactly how I expected the answer... I expected, but not wanted, already knew
Does setting to 787 decrease CPU life (heard of any G1/G2 with burned CPU?)

In my opinion I think after some time over clocking your going to come across some problems like battery frying phone over heating I haven't heard of anyone's CPU frying yet but it can happen but I think by the time you have used a few roms and done some experimenting and something dose go wrong a new p500 only going to cost u around £30 just take the risk
> about OC'ing, it affects diode life, chips are made with diodes, and it is computer related aswell, overclocking causes cpu diodes life to be shorten out, overclocking means more current, more current means more heat, more heat will cause diodes to be busted out easily, but I never head anyone here complained about a bricked O1 becoz of over clocking.. this is as far as i know, I also want to know if 600 and 806 are in same voltage? ta kernels had this undervolt features.. it means lower voltage some frequencies isn't it? but undervolt causes more heat, why?
I have a 787 MHz maximum stable frequency. In the matter of performance / battery life to save the answer is simple:
The higher the frequency of the processor, the better the performance, but consumes more battery power, as well as its temperature rises. To play well, the battery is bad
Im using SiyahKernal and I'm curious about undervolting.
I want a safe/ok combo that will be smoothish and fastish but good for battery.
I'm currently running the cpu at 900mhz using extweaks.
Any suggestions? what're your settings?
Undervolting takes time and patience.
Start with -25 first and test if it is stable for a day or two.
If it is, move on to the next step.
Personally I didn't undervolt yet because it seemed to lower my average benchmark scores. Overclocked to 1704 and get 63k average in quadrant!!! (Not that it really matters in daily use...)
Yes do it in steps. The only danger is too low a voltage will cause a reboot when idle if theres not enough power to keep going.
I got mine to -100 for every step, stable. This means Samsung were generous with their voltages IMHO, but OEM's generally are. HTC are the same.

Thats amazing! how was your battery?
So the only danger is a reboot? no damage? apart from the obvious loss of work unsaved or game etc.
Not really bothered about benchmarking. just battery life with at least an 'ok' performance. i can easily set it up later when i need performance.
Just really love this phone and am mosty working all day.
Not really for undervolting. Its over volting that causes damage. Battery is ok. Not amazingly better. Cell Standby is killing me.
