Im currently running Jusada's ICS Final. Best rom I have tried. I have tried loads and loads of roms recently but always come back to this. I made a CWM backup of the 3 uk 2.3.3 rom but cant get the H3G baseband! looked everwhere for it. (even asked 3 for it).
To be honest I wouldn't expect 3 to update past this at all. Just flash any Euro 2.3.6 if you want pure stock. The only difference really (apart from a few tweaks) is the bloatware (Rubbish games/win cash etc).
Im going to stay on this ROM until official CM 7.2 (just to see what it like) and the unnoficial CM9 comes a bit more stable.
Got to ask, why do you want the official 3 rom back?

hi folks
Hi folks thank you for the replays i am after the stock rom because i have to send phone back to 3 as the camera is broke i need 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 not sure if i can update with 2.3.4 using kies i am using Cw 7.2
I've got the stock H3G 2.3.6 rom (GT-S5830_H3G_1_20111223114803.zip).
not sure how i can share it with anyone.
I'd be grateful for the 2.3.3, though as gps was far faster in the older version.
Hi you could put it on a torrent site p bay or demon thanks for any help
sorry, i'm not familiar with this.
i'll tell you how i got it though.
get this software : CheckFusDownloader_v2.1.exe
and use the following :
product code: GT-S5830OKAH3G
PDA: S5830XWKPY/
CSC: S5830H3GKP3/
Phone: S5830NEKP7
this will allow you to get the rom directly from the server that kies uses.
i've once spent almost one day to get this
Awesome!

I flashed back to a custom stock rom and it still doesn't work.
Is there anyway to get back onto the Samsung rom without kies (as it doesn't work on Linux, or i haven't managed to find a Linux build of it)?

I tried using odin to flash to firmware version S5830XWKPN from samfirmware
and after that did a factory reset. It still refuses to work. Is that an official Samsung build?

If that's going to be your last option, make sure everything is stock and no root. Lol, wouldn't want them to find out all those changes and say no to the repair xD

I just purchased an GT-i1900P orange, UK
Can i flash it with for example "I9100XXLPB" 4.0.3 ??
I know that I will lose NFC and I do not care.

Any help is appreciated.

Yes, it is possible. I9100 ROMs will indeed work on I9100P phones, but NFC won't work anymore... and it sounds like you already know this.
It's ALSO possible you can also brick your phone if you don't follow instructions.
ALL THAT SAID... If you are concerned about stability and NOT bricking your phone, then I suggest you do NOT flash ANY ICS based ROM, as it's not yet been officially released. That means any ICS based ROM is built off a leak, so stability is NOT guaranteed.
thank you for the explanation. I appreciate it.
by the way, even the radios(modems) are compatible/flashable?

Hi,
I also have the GT-i1900P Orange UK version.
Can you tell me which ROM did you flash? I need to debrand that Orange stuff since I'm on giffgaff. Would love to have some latest generic Samsung firmware but I'm a bit lost when it comes to ROMs. So far I've managed to remove simlock using Samsung Galaxy S unlocker and flash "CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KI3-42-v4.2-CWM4.zip".
Thanks

You can flash any I9100 (NOTE: NOT an I9100G) firmware. Just know that you'll lose NFC if you do. But it looks like you already got this information in a different thread.

The first thing anybody should be doing after rooting and before flashing an ICS BETA ROM is making an EFS backup(download release.zip)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
and then making a Nandroid backup just incase you need to get back to your previous Firmware.Without these 2 things you could loose your phone cos your flashing a BETA ROM.
EDIT:A good kernel for ICS is LP6 as LPB seems to have more bugs in some ROMs.

Hello,
I have done exactly as you did. Just that I also backed up my EFS!! If you screw your EFS that you screw the phone so better safe than sorry.
Then I went on flashing I9100XXLPB with ODIN (there were three files).., the same way you flashed CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KI3-42-v4.2-CWM4.zip
So far so good! on 4.0.3 , performance is great
got 4027 on quadrant benchmark
absolutely no crashes yet..
thanks everyone for the help...
it seems easy now once you do it yourself..
before any of you start saying use the search function or other whitty comments, i have searched around and have found nothing
so, is there a date for when ics will come to my sgs2 on o2 uk network ?
Since O2 will add some of their own apps it really depends on how long it takes them. You can flash a official build via odin then flash your regions CSC so you can still use Kies.
thank you for your reply

Hello,
I'm trying to find if there is as of yet any way to root this device. I did find one thread but involved flashing a Russian (I think) rom. Before I had the HTC Legend, so I'm not used to Samsung phones. I've been searching since I got it yesterday. I'm wondering if anyone found a safe / confirmed way to do this yet. If I need to wait, I need to wait. I just wanted to pose the questions. I did fine a few roms and info on the Korean version of the phone, but was also unsure if it was safe to flash on this device.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.

In the same boat as you!! I don't want to flash any other roms as it can lead to other issues. As of now I hate not having root, but if it means I have to wait for a flashable. Zip, or a super one click. I can wait

I used the same rooted and it worked smoothly for me i would recommend that you use it
I'm so willing to bet that there is one of the already exisiting Samsung phones that has the exact same physical characteristics and all the ROMs are compatible. I'm so sure. I'm hoping. I'm praying. You know, CM9 and all that. =(

once rooted. anybody tried putting cyanogenmod for Galaxy S II on the I757M?
Do want ICS!!
No offense for anyone but these generic ROMs tend to run with the least amount of efficiency with Bell's Radio and Kernel. I tried at least 10 of the CM9's out there. The battery life was useless. It was more of a gimmick than anything else.
Which section of the forum is being used for this phone?
Where is this Russian Rom that everyone is talking about? Please provide links to location on the forum!
I am currently loathing Gingerbread but honestly. I will wait for the official Ice Cream Sandwich roll out.
It's being covered:

What were the different results of CM9? Were you building from source, or did you just download a random one and flash them in? I'm trying to port Stock ICS, and going for a much needed beer after I type this just to come sit back down and keep trying - I'm determined to have an alpha up in the next 24 hours of a CWM-flashable ICS.
I'm tearing apart every kernel I can find to make this *@#[email protected](ing phone boot from ICS.

You have a lot of tutorials about upgrading to official (moto stuff) roms or about installing custom roms, when i bought my razr it came with gingerbread, one of the first things i do was upgrading to ICS and then i start using custom roms with safestrap, but that dependens on what you want/need from the phone. Also you have to check if your phone is CDMA or GSM, before installing a rom or at least ask if that have a patch.
here you have a post with a los of links and a tons of info. Hope that helps

The European retail jellybean formats your whole phone, so you can flash it and have your phone back on normal.
