I'll get that later on. I only bought a 16 GB for moderate use.
Good to know, thanks for sharing! I wonder if 64GB is the limit?

64GB? That's a wonderful thing.
How much does a 64GB mirco SD set you back?
I have 32GB now, Class 4. But does aok right now.

It will set you back $100-150 I'll keep my 32gb for now

Yeah, for "now" 32GB is perfect for me.
I mean right now I have all my music on Google Music, so that saves me approx 16GB of data, and I do have a few Media Hub movies, so 32GB is spacious right now.

Thanks, I had some customers that asked.
Yeah, I've never seen one under $120. Considering that's around three 32GB microSDHCs, I'm holding off--not that I have any trouble filling a 32GB card, but still.

That's the cheapest I have seen them thus far. Wonder how fast it'll be before it significantly drops in price. So far, the 32GB ones have dropped a fair amount in price.
I'm gonna upgrade to a 32GB one from 16GB once I purchase my Note.

International version was reported to support 128GB, but there isn't a microSD that size yet, so the test was done with a regular SD card and an adaptor:

Yeah 32GB are definitely at a good price point; I bought an excellent SanDisk class 4 from Newegg for $33, and could have saved a few bucks with a less reputable brand.
I haven't seen prices drop at all on microSDXC cards in the last four months. I'm not holding my breath at this point that they'll be priced competitively with smaller cards any time soon.

Have you ever seen anyone selling a 128GB microSDXC? I don't think there is any technological limitation of the phone that would prevent your phone from reading even larger cards, as long as you can format them with a supported filesystem, and the SDXC standard allows up to 2TB. The limitations are just based on what's available.

That's pretty cool, thanks for the link. I'm not quite brave/crazy enough to clear a space in the back of my phone to install a full-size SD card though.
I got the same 64gb sandisk microsdxc and it doesnt work for me...phone wont recognize it. It's formatted into FAT32 and my HTC Evo 4G and PC can see the card and read/write to it just fine.
What file system do you have on that card?
64GB was 100 at bestbuy but they sell out quick on the site.
You have to put it in the phone and format it in the phone itself

thanks! that helped. used PC app to delete the partitions on the card, put it back in the phone and then went to Settings-> Storage -> Format SDCard
Hope this experience saves time to others.
Note does not see sd card contents
Having a little trouble with the external card being seen by the Note. I have a samsung 32 GB, class 10. I have pics loaded, ringtones and apks on it. Pics and apks are in the root of the card. Ebooks are in a folder called ebooks. Ringtones are in a folder- Forget how labeled, but copied from my infuse card. They work correctly.
My app installer does not see the apks. Gallery does not see the pics, but the ringtones are selectable by the settings thru contacts or setting sounds. STock ebook reader does not see my ebooks that are in a folder "ebooks".
With the file explorer on the note was able to open the sd card and install the apks manually.
How do I get the note to see the stuff on the external card?

I don't think it's worth the extra $50. If you really want 32GB, you could just buy an external microSD card and stick it in (up to 64GB I believe). I got the 16GB phone and put in my 16GB microSD card which costs much less than $50 these days. Plus, you'd have do wait until they get the 32GB version of the phone.
I dont think its that necessary. You can expand with a microSD card up to 64GB, and you also get 50GB of DropBox storage when you buy the phone. Im just gonna get the 16GB White model when it comes out.
I'm noticias 100% sure in S3 case but usually internal memory is faster than external cards. You must consider it.

IF you have the need go head. IT all comes down to it.
In my case, I need the internal storage for 1080p videos, pictures, apps, data apps.
And then I use the microsd card for my 35GB music collection. (Yes, I like to go around with my entire music collection in my pocket)

the reason everyone is going bat**** over the SGSIII is because of the microSD slot. there's absolutely no reason for you to get a 32GB phone since you can pop in a 64GB microSD card if you needed more space. better question to ask yourself: what is the capacity of your current phone? if you maxed out, double the space and that's what you should be aiming for on the SGSIII. :good:
If you have to ask, do you think you need it?
I've a 64 GB µSD card whose limits I'm already reaching. $50 is a lot for 16 GB but it's not a question I need to answer.

For 50 bucks of u plan on keeping the phone for awhile id say get it.sucks when u think about or like ur paying 50 for a 16gb sd but when u consider 1st that its 16gb that u will never be able to expand to any other way and 2nd Apple would charge like 200 bucks for that extra space it makes the sting a lil easier to swallow.now of they made 256gb sd cards it would be a different story lol but since we are limited in how big of a sd card is available I'll take that extra 16 err 14....whatever ever formatting gb any day for 50 bones.nothing worst then running out of space

that's a CLASS 6 (SIX).
I plan on keeping mine for 2-3 years, so the more storage the better, so to me a 32gb phone with a 32-64gb sd card makes a lot of sense, but it really only matters what you want/need it for
Do you guys recommend a highspeed microSD card to use for gaming? I heard i could use a app called foldermount to move games to the external sdcard. Thanks in advance. =)
I don't see how a faster SD card would affect gaming on your phone. I personally picked up a Samsung 64GB Pro microSDXC Extreme Speed (UHS-1) Class 10 Memory Card and have had no issues with it. I just felt like getting a Samsung card for a Samsung phone seemed like a smarter fit. My Razr Maxx had some SanDisk SD card that never had any issues, so I guess the most important factor would be reliability and cost.

Just wondering what you guys would recommend for a good quality sd card for this phone? Also...how hard is it to put your stuff on the SD card rather than it going straight to internal storage??
I use a SanDisk 16 GB microSd card. It works fine, I've used it on my Xoom, BIONIC, and now my S4 and I got no complaints. Fits everything I want (I don't put any movies on it, just pictures and music). It isn't that difficult to move stuff to and from it, either go in an app on your phone and move stuff or plug it into you'r computer. Also, many apps, like the camera app, have settings that save pictures and videos straight to your external SD.
I think it's a must for an S4 user to have external storage, as TouchWiz/Bload take up almost 7GBs of internal storage.

I use the Sandisk 64GB MicroXDXC UHS-1 from Amazon. It's around $50 from Amazon. I've used it in my S3 as well. No issues besides every now and then it will say the card is damaged or give an error. A simple reboot fixes the issue. Best card for the monwy as I habe 2 of them. One in my S4 and one in my Tab 2 7.0. You should also try and find a USB reader for MicroSD cards to transfer your files as it's much faster than using the USB cable to transfer to the phone.

The problem you describe is a well known issue with SD cards that have gone bad. It's an attempt by the built in controller on the card to preserve whatever is on the card currently.

SD cards don't usually come on odd sizes. Almost always a power of 8. Weird.
Also, just because you bought it yesterday doesn't mean it's not bad. Ever heard of manufacturing defects? Id be willing to bet it's faulty, but you could always try reformatting it to see if that works or helps.

If you paid $10 for a "125gb" card then that card is fake. Its probably a 16gb card made to look like 128. Try copying 125gb to it and see if can hold

It is almost certainly a fake with only 4-16 GB or so of actual memory, but which self-misrepresents as 128 GB and never returns any error writing (even if it is not writing anything at all).
Copy about 16 GB of actual (lerge) files on it and then compare by content the original files and the copy. Then remember that saying - if it looks too good to be true then probably something is wrong.
definitely fake one. $10 for 125g(??), too good to be true.

I would figure they would all pass because the card still allows data to be written over it, it just doesnt have the extra space it needs. The true test is to fill it with video/games/etc and read them back. Wouldnt want your stuff to end up corrupted.

Edit:!! You guys were right!! This was a fake. I ran several test on it including h2testw. And it passed but after a few more days it started losing data. Now when this started happening it stopped passing the test. They all failed. I feel stupid now. Should have known. Always buy name brands and 200 is high as they go for now. If its cheap it IS too good to be true. Stay away from eBay!!
I apologize if anyone used this link to buy this card. I complained and they refunded me without question. Didn't even want that pos back.
