Best earbud stereo bluetooth headset for Tytn?

So many to choose from, so many of them crappy.
I've tried the Sony ericsson HBH-DS970 and Itech R-35, the sony had good sound but too many connection issues etc, the itech only worked -ok- and had a flimsy spring/generally low quality feeling and glitches.
These are ones that I think -might- work well, I've probably overlooked some: Nokia BH-500, SIEMENS HHB-750, SONY DR-BT10CX, Sony Ericcson HBH-DS200, Jabra BT320s, Plantronics 260.
I need good sound quality and it needs to...work.
Anyone?
Plantronics discovery 640e
Right now it is 59.99 after 20 mail in rebate at radioshack in US. Wife approved! I took back all the Moto ones I bought cuz the little misses hated the sound. I use the Kenwood BT1000 that is intergrated into my car stereo when driving. Love it!
Sorry! I just Re-read the post..... this is NOT stereo bt headset
The Motorola s705's work great with my 8525. You can use on earbuds also.
Mr
Looks interesting, a bit bulky but I read that it works reliably, and issues? How good is sound and speech quality?
I have exactly the same question... I was just about to order some Sony DS970 but will see what kind of responses arrive here. Grkn, exactly what connection problems did you have with the Sony?
I had it a long time ago, probably with the default rom and little BT tweaking, but I remember I didn't get it to work properly, maybe I couldn't answer calls, I DO remember there were periodic stuttering. It also didn't have a clip.
But the sound quality was great, and It's very cheap on ebay, I'm tempted to give it another try.

Be careful of the cheap ones on Ebay there were some very good looking fakes going around. Do a google search and you'll find the pictures... not easy to tell the difference at a cursory glance but sound is no way as good.
motorola makes the s9. best out right now. in ear, sleek, low profile, and great for working out and running with. sound quality is awsome, gets even better if you tweak your ad2p. = )

Sound is good but it's sensitive for range, just my arm in the way between it and Tytn causes sound drop outs.
Don't know if this is as sensitive on other models?
Plantronics 260
I really like my Plantronics 260's. Sound great, (especially with one of my roms ), and connect flawlessly. Someone else said his broke, but I don't stress mine physically and its been fine over a month now. I can't compare it to others though as they are the only ones I've had.
jUST GOT THE jABRA jx10 series2 and I'm quite happy with this one so far. Sound and range is good. Phone rings at the same time as I hear it's ringing in the headset. I hoped for a mini usb connector for charging but no such luck.
It comes with a short cable that goes from their special connector to large USB connector so I can use a power adapter I have where I can connect USB charge cable, so I can use this on my travels for charging both headset andmy tYTN.
oPS.. sorry missed the stereo part....
its all about how much you want to spend, the level of quality of music/sound you require, and the shape of your head and ears, and much of a goof you want to look like in public.
The Motorola Bluetoothâ„¢ Active Headphones S9 seem to be the most popular for now, and can be bought for less then 99 USD.
And they'll work with anything Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) compatible. (ipod bluetooth interface sold separately)
And they do have a built-in mic for incoming/out going calls.
These have inter-ear rubber buds ... that I hate its like having a rubber q-tip jammed down in your ear ... not fun... but some people swear by them. -- for this reason, I wouldn't buy them off ebay in case you wanted to return them without going insane.

Mr
For me they're out of the question due to their cyborg look
The S9's worked pretty good for me, except the speakers blew out 3 months in. Now i'm looking for a new set.
S9... the way to go.
Lost my previous and perfect headphones...boohoo
I recently lost my beautiful and never gone wrong bluetooth headset. I still feel gutted. I looked everywhere as I am not one to misplace anything or so I thought. I went through the garbage too!! thats how upsetting it was. I couldn't and still can't imagine for the life of me where the hell they are.
So..yesterday after carefully consideration and bank balance checking...cough cough splutter splutter (bit short of funds at the mo but just enough left to cover some headphones)...I popped along to our good old friendly eBay site...
Found some S9 Moto and won them. I was unsure whether to buy them or not as I have read so much negative reports on line as to how easy it is to be ripped off and stuck with a low quality copy pair.
I have checked best I could and am moderately confident that I have won a legitimate pair as the seller has 100 positive feedback. Postage costs are high but feedback relates mostly to excellent speed of items received along with next day delivery.
I do hope they work well with my hermes as I want to use them whilst on the bus, on the treadmill, walking about, at college, jogging etc.
Fingers Crossed guys.
Heres the link is anyone knows what to look for (checking legit items against dodgy etc)

I have a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970, realy nice sound only the playtime sucks.
No BT skipping problems.
How long is the playtime?
I've received the Jabra 320s, works like a charm both listening to music and using it as a headset. Sound quality is adequate.
Maybe 3 hours playing time

I am also looking into this.
Surely the best way to go is to get a unit that allows you to plug in your own headphones. via a standard 3.5 jack connector.
2 reasons, the headphone part of these units will be the first thing to die, you can just replace them instead of the whole unit.... and you can use whatever type of phones you prefer (also connect to an amplifier....)
My issue is finding one that has a reliable connection and playtime.
I don't mind paying that bit extra if it works and does it for long enough!
Any users of the HTC S100 about?
http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=140285
I have a feeling th only downside of this unit might be that if I stick in my Sony Fontopia earbuds then the hands free part won't have it.... no-one seems to know!

Brilliant Headphone Holder

Hi,
Am I the only one here who always struggles to find a good way to store my headphones? I usually wrap them around themselves, but this normally leads to kinks in the cables and a mass of knots
I just spotted something called "Cable Turtles". I can't believe how simple they are, or more importantly, that I have never seen them before!!
I have just ordered a small black one from here
When it arrives I will post my thoughts on it.
Cheers
Zippyioa
Boy, those looks brilliant indeed. Will order one, I too have had some problems with where to store the cable. I hate wrapping
Bloomin' Royal Mail strikes have delayed the delivery of this fine product.
As soon as it arrives I will post my views for anyone who is interested!
Cheers

Hi B&B,
They did arrive in the end (thanks Royal Mail!).
Overall I love them, however I think that the small ones, despite being listed as "for headphones" are too small. They hold the cable fine, but they are not large enough to encase the whole headphone (see picture)
If I ordered again I would probably go for the medium size to be honest.
Cheers
Zippyioa
whatever happened to those things that your earphones came in that you wind up
this is back in the walkman days like 1997
pretty much all earphones used to come sold with one of those things

oh i didnt know there was a volume control on the hero headphones. didnt even open the bag or look at them. I figured id just use my cheap sennheiser cx300 anyway.
I actually bought the medium one and the headphones fit just about right. Could be a bit bigger as its a tight fit, but overall it works fine. Large would probably be overkill

looking for in ear headphones with mic

Hi, so by reading the title, you should probably have an idea of what I'm looking for, if not, I'm looking for headphones with in-ear buds that also has a mic that goes along with it. I've been looking but I've never found one.
Do you guys have one like that? I need a working microphone, I know it's probably not a big deal if you use your headphones for strictly music, but I just like to have one in case my hands are busy
I would check ebay or amazon, I have one for my G1, but it uses 2.5mm instead of the standard size.
Skullcandy Ink'd is exactly what I think you are looking for. Great sound, 3 different sizes of ear gels for the buds, inline mic, and several colors to chose from. Can pick them up for around $20 I think.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
I'll second the Skullcandy headset. Make sure the say mic on the package though. Great sound and the microphone picks up realy well.
Alright, I'll try and go pick up one of the skull candy's this week then. How long have you guys had yours?

I've had mine going on a month now, use them about 6 hours a day at work. Depending on the rom you are on, the button on the mic will pause/resume music play.
About three or four months at least, and I do not treat them kindly. They have been great.
my fiances IPHONE headset works fine
If u have like $60 to spend on headphones I believe V-Moda has a nice pair w/ a built-in mic. I have 2 pairs w/o the mic & they are pretty good quality.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide
I like skullcandy inkd but I think I wanna invest more in the skullcandy full metal jacket. They've got the braided cabling for better durability.
I bought these from New Egg for $13 on a Shell Shocker: MEELECTRONICS M6P-BK
The mic is also a button, it plays & stops music, answers, etc, came with several different sized ear buds. They're great, use them jogging, on my motorcycle inside my helmet, probably the most comfortable ones I've used inside a helmet at that.
Then got stuck using them on a 5hr conf call and they're WAY more comfy than my BT headset.
PS, sorry for bringing back an old post, just thought I'd share

[Q] Lost my MW600, any replacement suggestions?

Poor little thing is probably beat up and frozen in a snow pile somewhere by now . I left it clipped to my pocket but unfortunately it must have worked it's way out! So, I am looking for a replacement.
As much as I loved the little guy, perhaps there are other good models out there worth hearing about. I am pretty much looking for something similar with good quality, the one minor gripe I had with the thing was the touch volume control.
So what do you guys suggest? Buy another MW600 or go for something else?
MW 600 is the best...
Well, certainly not much of a discussion I had hoped for
Oh well, I suppose I shall go for another. It's hard to live without it now!
Try jabra(im using and also satisfied)
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
try a hbh-ds980. it's older than the mw600, but it hangs around your neck and lets you access your phonebook and recent calls list remotely. it also doesn't have that touch sensitive volume bar in the mw600. some disadvantages to it are it isn't able to swap headphones, doesn't have FM radio, and a 3x shorter battery life.
as stated above, mw600 is best.
if you're ok with headphones instead of earphones, better sound quality, better comfort, better battery life, then definitely check out the sony dr-bt50.
Try Jabra BT3030, which I currently use. Also my longest-used stereo bluetooth. Came from HBH-DS970(its lanyard gets easily cluttered with the earpiece wires; wires creep-out their sleeves; noticeable battery degrade after a year) and HBH-DS205(labeled having 8-hour playback life but noticed has shorter battery life than that of HBH-DS970; nasty/disturbing streaming disruption).
What really made me turn away from SE bluetooth is that they use their propriety connector; in this case, two slim contacts that may cause charging trouble once there's dirt and carbon buildup.
Jabra BT3030 comes with a labeled 8-hour playback/calls ops life(within 7-8 on my experience, since acquisition until now, almost 2 years), two wearing options(clip or lanyard), exchangeable earsets(use Shure IEM with them), rugged design(practically swear-proof with the rubber trimming and all), full function controls and miniUSB charging slot.
Three cons I can say about it are the lack of indicator screen(maybe to compensate battery life), the volume control is independent(doesn't control the actual phone's media volume; it controls the bluetooth receiver's audio level for both calls and audio streaming) and lastly the quite annoying led indicator which is constantly blinking(which I got used to already. To those who can relate, I looked like a weakened Ultraman while wearing it, hahah!).
For me, this is the best bet for an all-around stereo bluetooth receiver until now. Unless, there's already a similarly-spec'ed one with microUSB charging slot instead. That will be great.
the mw600 uses a microUSB... just fyi. i don't think SE will be using their old proprietary headset connector anymore ever since the bill passed where all manufacturers are adopting the microUSB port as the industry standard to reduce the amount of old phone chargers and cigarette lighter adapters being thrown away.
I would just say get a new one
I got my MW600 after a lot of googling for something better, and really it's a hard little gadget to beat in my opinion not to mention it was pretty cheap when i got mine (like 25 pounds or so)
it's sad that yours is lying dead in the cold somewhere :/ poor thing xD
indeed the only annoyance is the volume control, but yea, it's such a tiny little awesome piece of gear, i overlook that little inperfection
though i did just do a search on that jabra3030 thing, and that also looks promising, though i don't see the OLED screen and such (the Mw600 has that, and the same or better battery life)
I guess it comes down to what kind of durability you want, that jabra one looks indestructable
Why don't you have a look at IS800. Its very light and got great battery life. The issue I see is that it does not have Track Controls.

try DRC-BT30 by sony (not sony ericsson).. it looks better, and it is designed better even though it does not have a screen =]

Hey guys, thanks for the replies
Some of these are pretty cool, but one thing I realized I loved about the MW600 is that it could go all day at work & home and then charge at night, which is fantastic, so it's tough to match in that respect.
The Jabra BT3030 looks promising, but I can't find any Canadian resellers that seem to have it, so I'm not too sure.
I think I'm most likely going to start checking out some headphones like azian_advanced mentioned. Other than that, I guess some of the looking around has made me appreciate the MW600 for what it does do well.
ill sell you mine for $25. only catch is that the clip is broken.
anyone know if that can be fixed?
I'm using Jabra Clipper and I'm really happy with it. Sound quality is great. Works even better with doubleTwist player.

This is what I like about these forums. Much thanks for the heads up! Thinking of having MW600 myself.
Went back from custom Froyo roms to 2.1 (kX10 R2B001 by kxhawkins) due to few bluetooth connectivity bugs that are still present in these versions but quite looking forward for further update from the devs.

Good one, actually curiosity made me crank mine open with a flat screwdriver. It took me some time and bit of struggle; the two halves of the casing are only glued to each other. No screws involved. One compact pcb and one slab of battery lies inside. Re-glued it back together and what all I can say is that it's definitely sweat-proof.
I found this thread on google when researching the MW600. After exploring the alternatives I've just ordered the Samsung HS3000. It has the requisite 3.5mm headphone jack like the others in this thread. Says it has Bluetooth 3 with APT-X which offers supoort of lossless codecs if your bluetooth source can do it. I'll give a quick review after I recieve it.

Yes, and I love it. Haven't tried with APT-X yet because I don't yet have a source that will do it. But even with standard A2DP it's great.
I'm planning on getting the Creative BT-D1 and the Senn BTD300 as APT-X transmitters.

Best earphone with mic for Asus transformer Prime?

Any recommendations for earphones with mic? This is mainly to listen to music and chat on Skype or similar applications.
I just got these for my EVO3D to use on my commutes to and from work because I was getting frustrated with blue tooth earbuds. They work great, awesome tone and base for a set of ear buds. Mic works great and everyone I call says it is way better than the blue tooths I have had in the past (everything from a $20 - 100 set).
They seal up your ears pretty good though, so awesome to block out the sounds around you but also makes you want to talk louder so that takes a little getting used to.

I have and use these:
http://www.amazon.com/Bose-TriPort-...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1325345884&sr=1-1
Bit pricey (Not compared to other good headphones, though), but the sound quality and mic are awesome for talking or music. That and Bose has a one-year warranty. Comes with the headphones, a leather case, 6 replacement buds, and three 3.5mm-to-2.5mm adapters. Plus they're Bose, and Bose has a pretty great track record with audio. Got mine in July and they still work awesome. 5 months is pretty much a record for my headphones, wire always gives out and the left bud fails, even though I don't listen to music especially loud, so these are pretty durable. The price is justified, but if it's too steep, the ones Indiscriminate posted look good, or get a pair from Walmart or something and that'll run you about 18ish.

I bought these for my htc sensation a week ago and they work perfectly... however when I plug them into my prime, the kilpsch app doesn't seem to work (pushing the button does nothing)... honeycomb compatability issue?
I was thinking of buying these and then found this thread when I went to see if there was any that _actually_ work on the ATP.
So, did anyone _actually_ use these things on their tablet and verify that it works in place of the onboard mic?

Ok, i just plugged them in... and tested the mic with the sound recorder. The mic works fine, becoming default over the built in tablet mics, however, the click control (on the mic) does not work, even with the klipsch app installed.
I also noticed that the headphone plug sits out about 1mm from the jack, perhaps responsible for the not working clicker?
You are asking about the klipsch image s4a... aren't you?
I was referring to the J5M JBuds higher up (sorry I should've been more specific) but hey, if it works, $99 is fine by me as long as it works decently and has some durability.
My use case is simple: turning my tablets screen off makes the mic go crazy with noise, or at least it does in TeamSpeak 3; sound recorder is too soft for me to tell for sure with my voice but I think it does as well. So I need something that I can use while the screen is off and still be able to have headphones/earbuds to listen with.

If you don't mind wires I use turtle beaches. You need the dock or a usb port to power them though.

V-Moda Vibrato's is what I have. They. Are. Awesome.
http://v-moda.com/in-ear/
I can now verify the J5M's work fully.
How I tested: speaking in teamspeak while listening on my PC. Tapped the glass over the mic for reference. Exited teamspeak, plugged in the earbuds, reconnected, and listened via my PC - then tapped the mic under the glass, then tapped the inline mic on the earbudds wire to prove it worked. Sound recorder would've worked too.
Yippiee!
