There was a newbie development thread here before - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know where it is? I think there was also something like a program to help new developers learn etc.

Can someone point me in the correct direction please?

I don't know where the link is but Hello, Android (http://pragprog.com/book/eband3/hello-android) is a fantastic book for newbies to learn android. I recommend the e-book because you get free updates.
Good luck!

Do you really think I am going to pay to learn something like this when there is free resources around somewhere?

If you notice no one else replied to your thread and now I see why.

where to begin is to decide what you wish to achieve
if you wanna play with loading other ROMs, learn about xRecovery menu and study the posts in the DEV thread
if you wanna customise the way your device looks, then read up on editing the framework-res files and learn how to edit the files using photoshop etc
if you wanna just have a hack around with the phone just cruise through the forums....there is always something new and exciting to read up on
enjoy and ask questions but please remember to keep to the rules for each sub forum (you have posted this one in the right thread, dont worry!)

Diagram of Order of Operations

Question: Does anyone know if there is a diagram of some sort showing "how customized Android works"?
Meaning: You have ROM's, CMOS of some sort I use called TWRP, the OS itself, etc.
Assume: There are tons of hard core computer people out there, many even Linux people....who just never really "got into phones" by choice, but always appreciated and followed them...and would like to understand how things work.

Schematics or flow charts?
Do you also wants flow chart of kernel lineage?
Thanks for writing.
I'm just looking for something simple that a 5 year old could understand.
Like a Photoshop picture or something with like blocks that tell me what leads to what, and what does what... Assuming you're rooting your phone. Meaning...If I root my phone, I need to understand what the ROM does, what the CMOS (whatever it's called) does, which is most important to do first, etc. Flow-charty, yes. etc
But...anything you have is fine.
Thanks

In all seriousness, someone asked a similar question last week and basically what you're looking for is not available. Maybe a Linux/Android book may have something.

What you're asking here it's simply ridiculous. Anyone with a basic knowledge hanging around this forum knows exactly what you're trying to do.

why you guys are thinking that I am planning to hijack other apps??? I dont even have play store developer account and no plan to publish any apps to store online. I wanted to learn how to add ads to my app which I made while practicing. If anyone know than reply or PM me. Else mods can close the thread.

Not everyone started as an expert. Therr are genuine people who wanted to learn so give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Other than that if you have less good to say then do not speak at all.
