When I first got my Evo LTE 3 weeks ago I popped on FoxFi and I could connect devices no problem. However, the data speed was soooo slow that I ended up uninstalling it soon after.
Now with the update to the Evo I thought I'd try again for kicks.
Now, I can't connect any computer/device to my FoxFi connection. They can see the Wifi hotspot but only tries a few seconds to connect and then errors out.
Major bummer.
Any tips/tricks for this?
Make sure that when you turn foxfi on your wifi cannot connect to a router. If your wifi connects to a router foxfi will not transmit the right way and you will get error. Just go to the wifi settings and click forget connection on the phone and then try it. I was having the same issue and that fix it.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned, I turn off wifi before doing anything with it, so that isn't it.
have you tried a reboot? my friend's sgs3 just had the same problem and a reboot got everything in working order.
When you turn foxfi on it will also turn your wifi on to work properly. Just make sure is not connecting to a wireless router and you should be good to go. Just try it.

I keep assuming that purple would assume I tried the basics.
I rebooted. No good. I tried uninstalling any recent apps just in case, restarted. No good. I tried it with and without encryption, renamed SSID, reinstalled the app, tried with Foxfire add-INS. No good. We tried the same stuff on my buddies phone too. Button.

I have wifi off while trying all this, no possible way to be connected to a wireless router.
Thanks guys
Even if you turn it of before starting foxfi foxfi will turn wifi on so it can transmit the data. Go to your wifi setting and click forget on the wireless connection that you currently use to connect thru wifi and then try foxfi. Foxfi will turn on also your wifi will turn on but because you took out the router out of your connections you will not connect thru the the router and fox fi will be working again. Same problem happen to me and it took me 2 days to figure it out.

That did the trick! Thanks buddy.
I wonder if anyone has submitted a bug report to FoxFi for this?
Does anyone feel the need to use the FoxFi Add-On package with the FoxFi app?

Yes. I had no idea abt FoxFi bcuz I had rooted my fone but I uninstalled the root 2 do the OTA update then couldnt get the root back. So I looked on here in themes & apps & found out abt Foxfi. When I typed it n the FoxFi add on showed up n the playstore & tht gave me the link 2 go 2 the developers website 2 download the app bcuz Sprint & AT&T removed the app out of the playstore, so once I installed the FixFi app I also did the add on. In the menu settings of the FoxFi add on app it lets u hide ur mobile hotspot usage 4rm Sprint so they dont kno ur data usage on the hotspot. It works fine 4 me, I checked it 2 c if it notices it when I chk my data usage & the mobile hotspot data is 0....this is a gr8 app!!

Hey guys! Today I knew about the existence of rooting your cellphone. (I rooted mine just now)
Now I've tried some of the things you could do with a rooted phone and now I'm just curious... Can
you really surf the internet for free using WiFi Tethering? Can someone teach me how to do it?
Is there an app that you need? By the way I am using Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300.
Thanks!

I am sure I have some kind of software issue that is embedded into the os somewhere. I have tried multiple factory wipes and the Wi-Fi will work for a few minutes then go to error when running on. I have a rooted photon running 2.3.5. Is it possible I can copy my wife's factory non-rooted photon recovery files to mine? Or can I run a custom recovery to fix whatever conflict I seem to be having?

If this is just happening at home try resetting your router.
It's happened to me and that fixed it.

Its not a router issue. I'm not as tech savvy as I was 15 years ago but I'm not a total dummy. When turning “On" Wi-Fi it shows error, it will not enable the radio. I've searched the forums and Google tried the FUMO.apk fix for the botched update. Tried numerous Wi-Fi fixers but they seem to only "fix" connection issues rather than radio issues. I upgraded to this phone so I don't mind flashing anything that may work on the photon. Just hoping to get pointed in the right direction.

Depending on your phone one of these posts might help.
2.3.5 locked is tricky.

My wifi doesn't work either - it just says Wi-Fi: error. I'm on MOFv2.0ish, not in the US, and I expected these problems to be taken care of either in the OTA or in the rooted ROM.
Can anyone recommend a way to get back to 2.3.4, keeping the unlocked bootloader and bypassing Sprint activation? I don't think it would be a good idea to install the bone-stock OS since it may want to do a Sprint activation on first boot.
I've also tried CM10.1 and the GSM didn't work. Any recommendations would be appreciated. If only the wifi worked this ROM would be great.
